About Stephanie

My husband & I, along with our three children fell in love with The Cabin and the location the very first time we drove out to it. We enjoy the country life while being able to walk down to the beach in the summer, enjoy the sights of the autumn foliage, play in the winter snow and watch the forest unfold in the spring. We both have full time jobs and the children have extra curricular activities that keep us busy, so while we cannot always enjoy camping at The Cabin, we would love to share it's beauty and splendor with people who have similar interests as our family!

Stephanie purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Stephanie chose Thousand Islands

Location, location, location! An ol' dirt road runs alongside the property for family walks with the dog while the paved road along the front of the property allows easy accessibility. A walk to the beach or Big Bear store is less than 5 minutes! We love the Great Outdoors! The cabin is built like a fortress, it's private, somewhat secluded and has over 17 acres of property to venture out in and explore.

What makes this cabin unique

Come see for yourself! Hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, boating, skiing, swimming, sight seeing, Salmon River Water Falls, Winona State Forest, Salmon River, Salmon River Reservoir all surround you here! One of the Great Lakes, Lake Ontario is a within a 30 minute drive. The Adirondack mountains are within a one hour drive.

Great cabin and property, very enjoyable weekend!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is exactly as advertised, though I think that the pictures don't quite do it justice; it is cozier and nicer than the pictures. The beds were comfortable and even in the cold weather, the upstairs was plenty warm all night. The wood stove was easy to maintain and there was plenty of dry firewood. Verizon service was nearly perfect at this location. Dart board was well maintained, and though the pool table was fun, the surface was just slightly warped so there was an occasional ball that curved. Nevertheless, it is a great addition and nice way to pass the time. We definitely recommend this property as a nice escape.

Great one night stay!

  • 4 of 5

Loved walking in to warm holiday lighting and a fire already going in the wood stove!! Place was clean and organized. My wife adored the tall Christmas tree! Beds were comfortable! Only small concern was that we couldn't get the wall lights to turn on, would've contacted Stephanie but didn't have cell service and we weren't concerned enough to try to find service to call her. The introduction email said the switch was by the hutch near the bar but we couldn't get those to do anything. Overall, a fantastic stay, id love to come back next winter!

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay but I'm so sorry about the lights. I should have made better instructions. The lights are on a dimmer, however you have to push the dimmer buttons in to turn them on, however if they are all the way down on the dimmer, they still appear to be off, you would then need to turn the knob all the way to the right and if that didn't work, then press the button in again, in the case they were already on and when you pressed them in, turned them off. It took me a couple times to figure them out, here on out I will have them all on, just on low so nobody runs into this again. Thanks for your positive review and constructive feedback! I hope you do come back, you were great guests!
