Enjoy the view from the rocking chairs or benches on the wraparound deck, or in the living room with its 6 large paned windows, or through the French doors in the dining room, or the bay window in the kitchen breakfast nook. This is a home with rockin' views!

For the hikers many trailheads are accessible within five minutes of the back door. Bring your bicycle and pedal from the house or take your ATV or Jeep and in five minutes you are on your own. Hog Canyon is just minutes away and Coral Pink Sand Dunes is just over the hill. The Escalante National Monument could keep you busy for years taking a different trail every day. Take an overnighter to Moab, Canyonlands and Arches National Park. Rest up for a week after rafting the Grand Canyon with Grand Canyon Expeditions, headquartered in Kanab.
For a small town Kanab has very good restaurants and some include great selections of vegetarian and other healthy menu items. Two well-stocked local grocery stores will keep the pantry full.

About Gay and Chuck Porter
My husband and I live on the Hamakua Coast on the Island of Hawaii where we are active in the retail tire and property/casualty insurance businesses. We love to travel in the Southwest and have a menagerie of pets: 3 dogs, 3 rescued cats, 1 pet wild boar named Winston, and 3 horses. We look forward to spending more time in Kanab hiking, exploring new off-road trails, and making more friends.
Gay and Chuck Porter purchased this House in 2010
Why Gay and Chuck Porter chose Kanab
We have vacationed in the Southwest for many years in beautiful places like Sedona, Taos, Santa Fe....but we actually give credit to VRBO website and Dru and Bob Hepler, owners of the Grand Canyon Cabin for our decision to buy a home in Kanab. Long story short, almost a year ago, their TV caught fire in the middle of the night, they credited us with a free night and we've been fast and good friends ever since. Their friendship and others we have met, Kanab's down-to-earth beauty, charm, proximity to national parks and sights, clear blue skies and fresh air...need we say more? We sincerely wish you the best that Kanab offers and that you truly enjoy your stay!
What makes this House unique
We can't say enough about the views from our home. Most days are blue sky and sunny with cool evenings. Kanab is so central to one of the most beautiful areas in North America that every day offers a new adventure.

Wow! Beautiful home in a stunning area!! Would LOVE to stay here again next time we visit!!
This home was amazing from the beautiful wrap around porch to the high quality amenities provided. We have stayed in many VRBO’s and this was our favorite!!
Best of the Southwest
This house is located in a quiet setting at the edge of town, yet local conveniences are within a short drive. All the desirable amenities like grocery stories, restaurants, shops, etc. are easily accessible. The house furnishings are comfortable, well laid out and equipped, and has expansive view from inside and out. Whether sitting in the open living room or on the wrap around porch, you are immersed in the landscape. We would certainly come again.

Wonderful house and views
House is well maintained in and out, equipped, and very clean. Views are great from porches. Great central spot to go to Zion, Brice Canyon, Grand Canyon and lots of state parks. Be sure to go to Peek-a-Boo Canyon. Only neg is TV at house has poor direct tv package. If you are sports watcher - no bueno, but there is netflix and hulu smart features. Overall I give this vrbo house five stars. Thanks for a wonderful vacation. The Smith's, Texas
Great Hub for South Western Utah destinations
We loved our stay at this home. We drove to Bryce, Zion (twice), Grand Staircase and Page AZ from this house. It was a great place to start and end our days of exploring and hiking. The wrap around porch was exactly what we wanted.
I highly recommend the Juniper Ridge Restaurant and Saloon. Downstairs is fancy and upstairs is more casual, but the food was great in either place. The Rocking V was also yummy.
For a slot canyon tour in Page Arizona, I recommend Horseshoe Bend Slot Canyons Tours was great.
Excellent home, perfect for seeing Zion, Bryce and Southern UT
My family and I very much enjoyed this property; excellent location, quite, clean, safe and excellent views of the surrounding mountains. Quiet mornings listening to the birds, watching the sunrise or sunset and what an amazing display of stars each clear night. We very much recommend and hope that in the future, the owners would upgrade the bathrooms to more modern standards.
We are Best Friends volunteers and have stayed at this house for 3 years in a row!
We love it! Beautiful and serene!
