This place was in an awesome location, a bit outside of the main part of London, but really close to the tube. Also was close to some good food/bar places too. The host, even though we never got to meet him was great and communicated with me ASAP. He had arranged someone to come meet us at our convenience. The room is small but did work out for 3 adults anymore would be slightly cramped. The ticket item is the rooftop terrace, Not much of a view of the city, but is slightly private and if your just wanting to hangout and if the weather is great outside, its an awesome part of the apartment to enjoy. The room was clean and they provided linen and towels. Bathroom is a bit small, but for me and my friends it worked just fine, since we were hardly there but just to sleep and shower. The outside is a bit noisy at night or in the early mornings because its close to several businesses, but that was not an issue for us. If I were to visit again, I would deferentially stay here again.
My family reserved this apartment for three nights but did not stay past our initial check-in. We felt that the apartment was much smaller and less clean than was show in the photographs. Additionally, parts of the ceiling were made of plexiglass/plastic, which was not shown in the photographs for obvious reasons. The bath towels and bed linens seemed heavily used and did not feel clean. Understandably, the top floor apartment was quite warm, but the only way to get fresh air was to leave the terrace doors wide open, letting in several flies and the noise of the traffic below. On the upside, the terrace was lovely and the apartment was stocked with dishes and small appliances. This was just not a place that we wanted to spend our holiday, especially since we were traveling with our young baby.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, and the apartment was serviceable. It is good value for the money in a very expensive city. However, it is much smaller than the pictures would lead you to believe. It's OK for 2 people but would be impossible for 4, unless you have very small children. If you have mobility issues, this is not for you as it's a 3 story climb up steep narrow stairs. The rooftop patio makes up for this if you can handle the stairs.
Harry and his family were great. The communication before, on arrival and during our stay was terrific. At one point I had an internet issue, and Harry had someone on it within minutes. As it turns out, it was an issue with my computer, and not the building, but they helped me resolve it.
My only real significant criticism is a lack of attention details. For example there was no bath soap on our arrival; the shower curtain hangs in the middle of the tub so it's constantly sticking to you as you bathe; there were smears from sloppy caulking and painting. All of these little things could be easily resolved and would make a huge impact on appearance and function for weary travelers.
We enjoyed our stay at 8L Rooftop terraced studio at 176 Commercial Road. The room was a little on the small side and not very fancy but we didn't spend much time there other than to sleep; it was just right for our tour of London. The kitchen was well supplied with utensils and appliances, refrigerator, clothes washer, an iron, hair dryer, toaster etc., the rooftop terrace was a real bonus and the weather was great during our stay. Harry's family was very helpful and friendly. We didn't bother them much but when we needed anything they were quick to respond. I would definitely recommend this location.
The Williams' family.
Nice place, near to buses in to "town".
Small but functional apartment.
Lovley to have a terass.
Abraham, the caretaker, is like a member in the famely, a part of the holiday.
Thank's for a greate stay!

It was a bit difficult to find but once there it was easy to reach the landlord for any issue and the location to the underground was great. The kitchen area was small, no oven with a small microwave. But overall great value compared to hotels in London. The landlord was very friendly and responsive to issues. It is a rather nousy area of the city but never felt unsafe.
