About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 4

Our vacation house is perfect for a couple or small family. It has beautiful water views of Saratoga passage from the main living spaces and the master bedroom with large view windows which let in lots of light. A 10 minute walk will take you right to beautiful Long Point Beach. You can often see Great Blue Herons at the beach, and other birds.

It is just a charming cottage for a getaway, and a perfect spot to come back to after exploring the many island sights nearby.

We have a nice view deck, a cozy fireplace in the living room, and a cozy electric fireplace in the master bedroom. The kitchen is completely equipped for cooking and is open to the dining room with french doors to the deck.

The master bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and the 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds. There are 2 bathrooms and a laundry room for you convenience, as well as a one car garage.

Everything in our cottage is updated, and it is very clean and bright. We love visiting here and think you will too.

** As of January 9, 2017 we have converted our fireplace to gas, easy to use and warm and comfortable**

About Brian Piller and Susan Petersen

We are Brian and Susie, a semi-retired couple currently living in Helena, Montana. We are prior Seattle residents and purchased this charming view home to have a place to return to the ocean, and to visit our grown children in the Seattle area. Someday we hope to move back permanently.

Brian is a native of Seattle and Susie is a native Alaskan, so our ties to the Pacific Northwest are strong.

Brian Piller and Susan Petersen purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Brian Piller and Susan Petersen chose Whidbey Island

We fell in love with our Long Point View Cottage after spending several months looking on Whidbey Island. We chose Whidbey Island for the quiet island lifestyle, the beaches and ocean views, and its proximity to seattle.

What makes this cottage unique

We particularly love the light and bright feel of our cottage, the french doors to the deck and the large view windows. The house just has lovely ambiance, has been impeccably maintained and updated. The house is on a very private and spacious 1/3 acre.

Perfect Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We spent a few days for our 11-year old daughter's spring break at the Coupeville Cottage. It was perfect and in fact exceeded expectations. The house was spotless and well-supplied. The view over Penn Cove was beautiful. The neighborhood is so quiet and relaxing. The best part was the isolated beach so near by. We took our 8-month old labradoodle with us and were able to run her to her heart's content. Brian and Susie were wonderful to work with and made everything so easy. Thank you! Oh, and I forgot to mention the proximity of Coupeville with its cute shops and restaurants. Too many good things to list. We rent houses with some frequency and this one is near the top of the list.

Comfortable home with beautiful view

  • 4 of 5

My friends and I had a fantastic stay at this property.

Property:

Full kitchen was great for making breakfast and keeping snacks. It was fully equipped with the required appliances (oven, stovetop, microwave, refrigerator), dishes, pots and utensils.

The front room and master bedroom had big windows so we could enjoy the beautiful views.

There was also a small back deck where we enjoyed the views and our morning coffee.

Location:

It was located very close to town where we enjoyed a couple of delicious restaurants and visiting the many shops.

Each morning, I also enjoyed the short walk to the beach.

Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in Susie and Brian's wonderful home. The house was spotless and very comfortable. We enjoyed the short walk down the street to the beach, the lovely views of the Saratoga passage, the cozy fireplace on cool nights, and easy access for exploring both north and south towns of the island. We would love to return one day. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

A relaxing and comfortable stay!

  • 5 of 5

I am glad that to attend a weaving workshop in Coupeville I chose to rent Susie's cottage. It was a very spacious and cozy place with most gorgeous views of the bay. The neiborhood was very quiet but it was very conveniently located just a mile and half from town. We had leisurely walks on the beach. Susie was very nice to talk to and supportive of our plans. I really enjoyed talking with her too. Renting her place was like having a home away from home. We plan to come back soon.

Lovely way to spend some (almost) quiet days - great personal retreat

  • 5 of 5

The house is very well kept, great kitchen with everything you need. The proprietors are clearly organized and helpful. They were clear about expectations (very reasonable!), directions, contact info, responsive to all questions. We weren't surprised by the aircraft training exercises from the base, which is not far, and after a while, they just became part of the background. Also, I accidentally left some items behind, and Susie was very accommodating, taking them to the Post Office and mailing them to me!
