Come enjoy our family home as if it were yours. It sits on 2.25 acres in beautiful Woodmen Valley. Our property has pine trees but also open views of the mountains (Blodgett Peak) and the city (gorgeous at night). We are 5 minutes from the intersection of I-25 and Woodmen, yet very private. We are close to the South entrance of the Air Force Academy, 15 minutes to Garden of the Gods, 5 minutes to Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, and it's a close walk or bike ride to the Santa Fe Trail (you can see the trail from our deck). We are also within 20 minutes of the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Cheyenne Mt. Zoo, Seven Falls, Olympic Training Center, Manitou Incline running trail, Downtown Colorado Springs. We have a large eat-in kitchen with a round table that can seat 8-10 with overflow seating at our island. It is well stocked with cookware and dishes for you to prepare meals. However, there are many restaurants within 5-10 minutes, also. We have a large family room in our walkout basement with a wood burning fireplace, 52' television, 9 recliners. An adjoining room has plenty of area for children to play with toys included. There is an outdoor play set for your children, a trampoline, and plenty of room to roam. Use our gas grill while you enjoy the views. Deer often frequent our property and you can enjoy seeing them in their natural habitat. Our home has 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms.. The recliners in the basement family room are sofas and comfortable for sleeping. We have slept 2 people on sofas, 2 people on one queen bed in the Master Bedroom, 2 people on one double bed in the Americana Guest Bedroom, 2 people on the log bed in the African Guest Bedroom and 2 people on one queen sleeper sofa with memory foam in the smaller guest bedroom. The bedroom locations include the main level master bedroom with queen bed, television, mountain view and full bath. Walk out from the master bedroom right onto the deck. The second smaller guest bedroom is on the main level and has a sleeper sofa and a bathroom. The Americana Guest Bedroom and the African Guest Room with log bed is in the finished basement and also has it's own bathroom. There is plenty of floor room for sleeping bags and inflatable mattresses (we can provide two of each). Our front deck has a little pond with table and chairs for your relaxation. The hummingbirds provide great entertainment during the summer evenings. Air conditioning keeps you cool in the summer and during the winter you might enjoy building a wood fire in one of our two fireplaces. (One fireplace is in our cozy Living Room-I love to read in this room. The other fireplace is in our large Family Room in the walk-out finished basement. Wood is included.) If you have babies in your group, we have a Pack 'n Play, High Chair,, Changing Pad and baby toys to help make your stay easier.

Amazing! Great family house for USAFA
We rent houses all over and I have to say this was the best rental experience we have had. The house had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Master bedroom had privacy from the rest of the house if the adults wanted to go to bed before the kids. There were plenty of extra blankets and pillows in all the rooms. The kitchen was fully equipped, extra silverware, plenty of Tupperware storage containers for leftovers. There were extra folding tables and chairs which helped immensely after USAFA graduation because we had some cadets stop by for a celebration barbecue. What a wonderful home. I wish I would have found this 4 years ago.
Inviting, cozy, comfortable, and definitely a good fit for a family.
Inviting, cozy, comfortable, and definitely a good fit for a large family.
We came into town to visit our son who is stationed nearby in the Army. We ended up having Thanksgiving with another family at the place, and we all had an amazing time. Everything was clean, cozy, and they had so many things available to make life feel like home, while still feeling like we were on vacation.
The bathrooms were above par!
AND the well equipped kitchen, WOW! Quality in every detail.
I can not say enough about the well organized layout of everything large to small. Perfect!
Thanks for allowing us to make memories and feel at home.
We love that you were able to have a great Thanksgiving here in Colorado Springs at our home! It's gotten to be a race between Air Force and Army families as to who gets the house rented first for Thanksgiving each year. Army won this year! Come back and see us anytime!
Wonderful home! Great location!
After a long 12 hour drive we were welcomed to cookies and s'mores. The home was very welcoming, cozy and comfortable. Carol is an excellent host. We chose their home because of the space and the amenities for all ages. We were able to pack a little less because the home had everything we needed for a 1 yr old. We were greated to deer several days during our stay. We LOVED the outdoor seating! The dining table was great! Plenty of space for our big family and we were all able to sit together during meals. Carol and her husbands home is very clean and well taking care of. We did not have any issues. We LOVED, LOVED LOVED our stay. We definitely will book again!
Thank you for giving us a review....we certainly appreciate your kind words. And, you were amazing guests, leaving our home so clean and some of the laundry done. That was so helpful for us, as we had house guests arriving the day you left. Our goal is to provide a welcoming home that works well for families, as an alternative to a hotel. We're sure happy to hear it accommodated you well!
Location Location Location....Gracious Host
Carol and her husband were so gracious. Their attention to detail was truly amazing and the home was such a nice place to relax and stay for Parents weekend, plus the location was great.
Close to everything and convenient to the AFA. Sitting outside and enjoying the yard and the surrounding mountains were so enjoyable. Best place we have stayed so far in The Springs and definitely recommend staying here. Can't say enough great things about this home.
Thanks for everything.
We were so thankful you were able to make it for Parents Weekend.....in spite of Hurricane Harvey in Houston. It is our pleasure to serve Air Force families! Come back again anytime.
Perfect beautiful location. The wildlife was amazing. Lots of Hummingbirds, other birds and even a visit from a couple of deer at dusk.
This home is Amazing. The perfect place to stay for families with children
The home is amazing, beautiful inside and out. Carol is wonderful. It is close to everything and yet very private. We all loved staying there. There were plenty of thing for the kids to do outside while we were there, the deer were wonderful and we all enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. There was plenty of room for everyone. We will be coming back and would love to stay there again.
Thank you! We are so thankful you got to enjoy the hummingbirds. The hour before sunset seems to be the VERY BEST time to watch the hummingbirds on the front deck. I call them "Kamakazi pilots" as they dive bomb to the feeders. We enjoy eating dinner out there almost every summer evening and watching "the show". You are welcome back ANYTIME....you left our home in such great shape.
