This centrally located, two-bedroom suite is 1200 square feet and occupies the full lower floor of a magnificent, newly constructed residence. Glenora House is ideally situated in a prestigious neighbourhood alongside McKinnon Ravine just west of the downtown core in Edmonton. It has many amenities close by including grocery stores, shopping centres, churches, schools, bus routes and restaurants. Steps to McKinnon Ravine and Edmonton’s hundreds of kilometres of bike trails, shared paths, and multi-use trails, you will be just 10 minutes to downtown, university, NAIT, and West Edmonton Mall.

Constructed in 2008 for the specific purpose of executive rental accommodations, great care was taken to ensure a private, comfortable and family-friendly space. No expense has been spared in the construction of this property. Separate, private entry, 9-foot sound-proofed ceilings, hydronically heated floors, gas fireplace and in-suite laundry are just a few of the conveniences you’ll enjoy.

Ideal for executives and families, this self-contained suite boasts two bedrooms (both queens), a large washroom, a spacious living room with gas fireplace, a fully-appointed kitchen including stove, microwave and dishwasher, dining area, and in-suite laundry. Our price includes weekly maid service and linen change for stays 14 days or longer.

Each of the bedrooms has hotel-quality beds and linens, a dresser, mirror, cable television and DVD player. The bathroom has a separate tub/shower room making it very share-able whether you're traveling with your family or your friends. It has a sizable sink and plenty of shelf space for toiletries.

In the kitchen you'll find everything you need to prepare meals and a full-size fridge to keep leftovers and groceries. Everything you need to serve a dinner for four in the adjacent dining room is provided. Everything you're used to having at home in your kitchen is here, full size.

In the living room, you'll find a big-screen TV with cable to watch your favourite shows. Everything has been decorated stylishly neutral with lovely artful touches throughout.

The home is situated in a mature, family-oriented neighbourhood. It's proximity to Edmonton's amazing river valley pathway system is ideal whether you like to take a leisurely stroll, or go for a marathon-distance run.

The quality of our suite is only surpassed by its incredible value. You will not find comparable accommodations for less anywhere in the city which is why we welcome past guests back again and again.

About Mindy Lamont

Our family of four has been operating Glenora House since 2007. Over the years we have met many fantastic people from all over the world and gained many friends. What started out as a necessity has evolved into a passion. Now we wouldn't have it any other way!

Mindy Lamont purchased this apartment in 2001

Why Mindy Lamont chose Edmonton

We purchased the original property at this location in 2001 with the intent to build anew someday. In 2007, we began construction on Glenora House and completed it in September 2008.

What makes this apartment unique

You really can't ask for a better location. It's just loaded with wildlife, trees, walking paths, charming homes, yet just a 10-minute drive from downtown, Old Strathcona, West Edmonton Mall, and even shorter to the Royal Alberta Museum, Alberta Legislature, and Telus World of Science. Grocery, pharmacy, banking, and restaurants are just around the corner. It's a fantastic spot.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The suite had everything I needed and the hosts are friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful place to stay in a great neighbourhood. I would recommend Glenora House to anyone.

Our family of 3 enjoyed our stay at this lovely, clean spacious apartment in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend this place for a lovely stay in Edmonton! Mindy was great and very communicative. Be sure to eat at RGE RD for a fabulous meal!

Great stay in Glendora Suite. They had thought of everything that you would need and great information about what was there for you to use. Would definitely stay again.

Nicely furnished and comfortable basement suite

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was great. My mom and I was staying in Edmonton for 3 nights and found this apartment to suit all of our needs. The two bedrooms allowed us sufficient privacy and some much needed silence during the night that we wouldn't get by sharing a hotel room. And it was at a fraction of the cost.

The living room and kitchen set up were great. We cooked half of our meals there and weren't lacking in supplies.

Mindy was great from the start. There was some confusion getting us the code to enter the property but by the time we arrived it was all sorted. We were a little confused about the parking situation. Most of the instructions said to park in front of the house or along the fence across the street. There was also a sticker near our front door that said to park only in front of the street and if that wasn't available, to park behind the house. We went behind the house in the alley to scope out the situation and figured the only spot to park would have blocked the driveway so we were confused. Thankfully, we were able to squeeze into a spot in front of the house each time we parked.

The only items of consideration I would make are: 1) Although I was happy to see that an iron and ironing board were provided (a rarity in the world of VRBO), the ironing board didn't have a pad under the cover and the drid lines on the board were ironed into my shirt and 2) For those with anxiety about creepy crawly things, be mindful that this is a basement suite. There will be bugs. We found 1-2 per day that we had to dispose of. This didn't bother us (since we willingly rented a basement suite), but I could expect that this would catch some off guard.

Overall - I would highly recommend this apartment.

Owner's Response: Thank you for such a thoughful review! I appreciate your feedback and have already used it to make improvements to make our place even better. We always have ample parking on the street. During your stay, we did have a neighbour doing some renos so we allowed parking in the driveway in the back just to make sure. Also as a courtesy to our wonderful neighbours, we also try to tell our guests to park in front of our house as much as possible, but I realize all of these instructions were confusing. I now have a map and posted at the entrance to avoid any confusion for our future guests. Also, I was quite concerned about the feedback about bugs! It is definitely NOT normal to be finding bugs every day. I have never heard anything like that for the entire 10 years we've been operating so I knew something must be up, and as it turns out, there is an explanation (thank goodness!). Wherever there is moisture, there are bugs and our suite has been dry since day one. I noticed myself while cleaning today that there were 3 dead bugs all within a few inches of each other. It occurred to me that there has been a very minor leak in the kitchen drain which is right on the other side of the wall where I found the bugs. The leak caused a small amount of moisture under the kitchen sink and the little critters were finding their way in through an air intake (which I have since screened). The leaky pipe is the root of the problem. Phew! This problem is being resolved as I write this, and oh, I almost forgot... the ironing board has a new pad :-)! Thanks again; I hope we'll see you again in the future!

Practical and reasonably priced for a family

  • 4 of 5

Our family stayed here for a longer time (a few months), so we appreciated the nice big size of the suite and the fact that it had a full kitchen and a laundry room. We enjoyed the gas fireplace too as it was winter, and the location was ideal for us. Thanks Mindy!

Fantastic Place

  • 5 of 5

This basement suite is everything you need to enjoy a stay away from home. The suite is extremely clean and in a very quiet neighbourhood. Very close proximity to the river with some great walks / runs. The owner Mindy is superb and very accommodating to all your needs. We had a lovely stay and would def consider this place again when we return to Edmonton.

This is as close to a home away from home as you can get! It was very comfortable and clean and well-equipped. Our kids were competing in various sport activities so there was a lot of coming and going from the rental. Mindy was kind enough to let us extend our time in the rental on our last day as our daughter competed in the late afternoon. Fortunately no one else was renting the suite that day, so it allowed for this accommodation. Thank you!
