We are really serious about the fact that house sleeps 7 max.

The creamery sits in the front of 8 acres on both sides of Fall Creek where it makes a 90 degree turn in the little hamlet of Etna. Five miles downstream Fall Creek passes through Forest Home and Cornell University and becomes Ithaca Falls.
There is a house right across the street and a house next door - the creek and protected Finger Lakes Land Trust are your neighbors on the other two sides. The partially enclosed wrap around porch with views of the creek and back yard is a favorite year-round spot for us and our guests.
The Etna post office is a couple of hundred yards up the road - a great walk with your dog, who will be treated with a biscuit upon entrance.
The road is very lightly traveled by cars, but bike and foot travel is frequent.
You can put your kayak or fishing rod in the water from the property. Water levels fluctuate during the year, but there is always moving water and wildlife to be enjoyed.
Sapsucker Woods, the Ithaca airport, Cornell University, a brewery, restaurants and shopping are all within a 10 mile radius, yet you really feel like you are out in the country when you are at the creamery.
There is off-road parking for 4 cars right next to the house and the TCAT bus to Cornell and downtown Ithaca goes right by the house. Rental cars are available at the airport which is less than 5 miles away.

About Michael Hall
My wife and I live in Baltimore and plan on retiring to the creamery in around 10 years. We had no connection to the Finger Lakes until we traveled through on our way to Canada and we both fell in love with the area. We call it 'Drinking the Kool Aid' and countless others have suffered the same fate as we did. Two years later we bought the house and have spent the last eight years furnishing it and spending vacations there and enjoying all there is to do in the area.
Michael Hall purchased this Farmhouse in 2008
Why Michael Hall chose Dryden
Beautiful views, easy access to the water, birds and wildlife abound, house and property full of history, close to Ithaca but still 'away from it all'
What makes this Farmhouse unique
You will immediately feel 'at home'. Everyone raves about the wrap around porch surrounded by a huge old maple tree with views of the creek. A picture hangs in the dining room of the house when it served as a creamery with a horse-drawn wagon carrying milk cans pulled up in front of the house CA 1900.

Beautiful old charming hone
Owners and property staff were very attentive and pleasant to work with. As soon as we walked in we could feel the love in this home! I would recommend it to anyone!!
2nd time staying here. Loved it both times. Planning to make it 3 next year.
Relaxing, cozy, country environment.
The location was lovely, right on Fall Creek. The house was clean, comfortable and well-stocked, very conducive to family gatherings. We really enjoyed the wood stove (we arrived on an icy Friday) there was plenty of firewood and stove was easy to use.
The host was friendly and responsive during all communications. We would definitely stay here again
Charming and cozy
A gem of a place. We had a great time and look forward to our next visit.
The Creamery is a lovely place to stay!
The house is situated on a creek about not far from Ithaca, and was very comfortable to the four of us in our group. We immediately felt welcome as soon as we opened the door. It was very clean, with a modern kitchen, comfortable beds, and extremely gracious and informative hosts. The downstairs shower had plenty of power and the hot water was ready as soon as the faucet was turned on. Sheets and towels were in abundant supply. There was plenty of room for us to either spread out around the house, or hang around together in the living room. We didn't take advantage of the puzzles or books that are availble for the guests to use, but if we stayed for a week, we probably would. The wireless worked well, too. There were squirrels running around, and the occasional chipmunk, and I personally could just watch the creek flow by all day long.
Etna is a small town approximately 6 miles east of Ithaca NY. House sits thirty feet from Fall Creek which becomes Ithaca Falls around 6 miles downstream . There are dozens of waterfalls in the immediate area and hiking (easy to expert) and nature opportunities abound. We use our house as a base to visit many of the Finger Lakes wineries (there are Breweries and Distilleries too), and to visit the world-famous Ithaca Farmers Market. Ithaca is the home of both Cornell University and Ithaca College and boasts a thriving arts community. Other Activities: Biking, kayaking, swimming, birdwatching, fishing, antiquing, and agri-tourism. Kids activities include the Museum of the Earth and the Science Center.
