Casita perfect for two people looking for a beach escape.

The Space

On the private estate of Casa de las Flores, nestled among the palms and flora, Casita Dos is one of two charming Casita's with your own private entrance. Located half a block to miles of sandy beach in the Bay of Banderas, the largest bay in Mexico and the third largest in the world. Bucerias is a charming seaside town 10 miles north of the PVR airport and 20 minutes from Sayulita/Punta Mita.

The Casita has a private hand-woven pallapa and outdoor terrace surrounded by lush gardens. Just steps away, located in the center courtyard of the property, is a large pool and outdoor shower perfect for a quick cool rinse after a long day at the beach. The pool has been hand-tiled with a colour that can only be described as the most perfect of ocean blues. There are plenty of beach chairs around the pool to soak up the sun.

The Casita is furnished with a queen-size bed, sitting area (two chairs, table/reading lamp), vaulted and airy ceilings, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom decorated with hand-painted, Mexican tiles. From above, several fans circulate the cool and refreshing tropical breezes. Wireless internet, local mobile phone, cable TV and street parking are provided.

Guest Access

Guests have access to their own private Entrance to the Estate and their own Casita. They will share a common courtyard pool with other potential guests staying in the second Casita and Villa depending on occupancy. There are plenty of pool and beach towels to use at leisure.

Interaction with Guests

At this time we are not living in Bucerias so we have an English and Spanish speaking greeter named Heather who is managing our guest services to ensure your stay is a great one. She lives off the property and can be there if needed at anytime. She arranges to have something light for you to eat when you arrive and then takes you to the local grocery store for getting your initial stock although there is a farmer's market that gets set up once a week a few blocks away. We also have our lovely housekeeper Mercedes who takes care of the needs of the property and is on site 3 times a week.

The Neighbourhood

Bucerias retains the charm of Puerto Vallarta 30 years ago with its unspoiled beaches, cobble-stoned streets, lovely homes, and friendly locals. Casa de las Flores is in the Golden Zone with many amenities nearby essential to a wonderful vacation. The beach, restaurants from fine dining to fabulous pizza, spas, sports, fishing, whale watching, markets, & art crawl to name a few. With no shortage of things to do, you will feel quite at home in this charming ocean-side town.

Getting around

Best part of Bucerias and the location of our house is you don't need a car. You can walk everywhere. Heading into PV or Sayulita you can take a cab, rent a car or if you're into authentic travel, take the chicken bus. Many of our friends love it! We can arrange to also take you to rent a car in Bucerias which is more affordable than renting one at the airport. Bicycle rentals are also nearby.

Other Things to Note

Casa de las Flores is a colonial, hacienda style estate in a beach town. This type of architecture is prevalent in Puerto Vallarta but tough to find in Bucerias. We like PV a lot because it feels European but Bucerias is where we want to make our home because of the laid back lifestyle, authentic, small town Mexican feeling and access to the amazing beach.

What we love about this property is:

Location - The best street in Bucerias, 20 steps to the beach.

Large Pool - Again, tough to find.

Privacy - Separate entrance to the property and to the individual Casitas.

Villa Architecture - Colonial with an indoor outdoor flair

We just purchased it so have lots of future plans to add our personal touch. The goal will always be to make it comfortable.

About Taya & Keith Puiu

My wife Taya and I love Bucerias and our home Casa de la Flores so much so we purchased it 7 years after having seen it only once while we were on our honeymoon in 2007. Bucerias is where we will eventually settle full time and raise our son.

I am a retired banker and my wife runs a branding firm. While we're still in Vancouver, the main house and two casitas are available for those who love it as much as we do , there is also an opportunity to rent the entire estate.

We have previous experience running a 5 star Bed & Breakfast on the Sunshine Coast in BC, (Canada) so we know what is important for our guests to enjoy their stay.

I am a father of 4 grown daughters and a grandfather to their 9 children as well as a father to my 4 year old son. My wife, Taya loves to cook and if you're visiting while we're there, you will be sure to share in a few delicious treats.
