About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Nice location but we were overcome by the smell of mold

 • 2 of 5

We rented the house for Thanksgiving, we arrived Wednesday night before the holiday, stayed Wednesday night, and Thanksgiving night, and packed up and left early Friday morning, a day early. The house is two levels, both bedrooms on the lower level. The entry is on the lower level as well. Upon entering the house we were overcome by the smell of mold or mildew downstairs. I thought I could stick it out as we had no place else to stay for the holiday, but there was no way. I would wake up in the middle of the night with a pounding headache from the odor. We called Vacasa and spoke with Julie, she advised me Jack, the local manager would contact me. Two hours later we got an email asking if we wanted a late check out. I emailed back stating the problem. Vacasa replied that they would have the local manager contact me. I am next day now and no one has contacted me about our early departure. Don't rent this place if you are bothered by mold. My Mother wanted me to mention the beds were very old and broken down.

Enjoyable and relaxing stay at the Isle of Capri

 • 4 of 5

My husband and our 3 children stayed at this Lincoln Beach home for 4 days. It was spacious enough for us and had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking equipment, utensils etc. , and we grilled one night out on the patio. The view of the ocean can be seen from the patio and it takes less than 2 minutes to walk down to the beach. There is a large container of sand toys if you want to take them to the beach to enjoy.

Overall, the home is covered with lighthouse and beach decor. There is a full bathroom downstairs and one bathroom upstairs, which has a bathtub but no shower head. Only one bedroom has closet space and there is a closet upstairs by the bathroom, but we didn't have too many clothes to hang up. The furniture is a little older but it was comfortable. One thing that we noticed daily was that whenever we walked up into the main floor there was this odor...we weren't sure what it was...perhaps it was the constant humidity in the house that made the carpet smell? We noticed that with such humidity, the carpet seemed to be a bit damp. The odor was musty and almost like urine, but we couldn't tell what it was. It was actually a pretty minor thing for us, since we were gone most of the day and evening, and it seemed the strongest when we returned to the house, yet was barely noticeable when we were there for awhile. The house was very clean and well kept. We would stay there again if it were available since it was so close to the beach.

Excellent view, great location, but older property/furnishings

 • 3 of 5

This home is in an excellent location - we loved the view from the upper floor & deck, and it takes only a minute to walk down to the beach. We loved the Vacasa "gift bag" which had several household items we put to good use! It's also convenient to have a great grocery (Thriftway) a very short distance away, along with a truly excellent coffee shop next to that. The kitchen is well-stocked with almost everything you might need.

Some useful upgrades on this property would be larger beds (as possible in the rooms), or new mattresses that don't have a "dip;" tracking down what might be causing the strong odor in the downstairs rooms (decaying carpet padding?); and room-darkening window blinds in the bedrooms.

You get what you pay for.

 • 3 of 5

This is the first time we've rented a beach home in Oregon, but we ourselves rent a furnished home (Palm Springs, CA), so we know how it looks from the other side. Not always easy. We had wanted a "nicer" home, but settled on this lower-range rental because so little was left for the weekend of the Total Solar Eclipse, so part of our issues with this home comes from expectations and should be taken within our context and having preferred a newer home with more features to our liking. We can say the following: When we first entered the house, there was an overwhelming moldy smell -- although the housekeeping was perfect. We kind of just dealt with it, but the owner should figure out what is causing the odor and correct it. Our only other complaint was that with a child there, we found it kind of chintzy that the TV had weird cable channels only, regular Basic, just esoteric rerun channels from the 1950s and 60s (!) and ABC only for network. The house was very clean. The furniture was comfortable even if a bit outdated, other than the mattress on the double-bed which was saggy. Well stocked kitchen, fabulous view, easy to walk to the beach. For a bargain, it's not a bad one, if they deal with the odor and mattress issues.
