The perfect apartment in a fabulous location!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was exactly what we wanted. It was just like the pictures, no surprises. Very clean, light and airy. That corner window in the ceiling was so charming! Philippe was great, very helpful. Why was this the perfect place? Let me give you a list!

1. Elevator. We have stayed in Paris before. We knew that the 5th floor is really the 6th floor to Americans. We knew it would be tiny, but it's better than walking up 6 flights after walking around Paris all day! An elevator is a must.

2. Great size! The two of us found this apartment to be spacious and just the right size.

3. Location! Holy cow, this was AMAZING. We felt like we were right in the heart of everything! It wasn't too cold yet, so we were able to keep the window open when we were "home." The sounds of the bustling city below were great! (But close the window and you hear nothing.) We wasted some time on the Metro to go to Notre Dame and the Louvre, not realizing how close they are to this apartment. We finally figured it out and walked to either location within 15 minutes or less. It was just wonderful!

4. The Square: right in the square, outside of the door, we found so many things we wanted! Restaurants (OMG go to O'Taco....yum), the fountain, a little grocery store, even McDonald's to save a few bucks and still get great coffee!

5. The notebook full of info: this was very helpful. It told us how to work the Euro appliances, where attractions were, just everything!

6. The Murphy bed: So comfy! We aren't tiny people, and we felt so comfortable in the bed. It is not a sofa bed, as mentioned, but I wanted to reiterate that. The couch ends up under the bed when you pull it down. It's a real, comfy mattress. We slept wonderfully!

I did a lot of looking before booking a place to stay. Hotels were so much more expensive than this apartment. I don't know why anyone would choose that!

We would without a doubt stay here again, if we ever make it back to Paris. I recommend it highly!

Great host, super location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here a week and we loved it. First of all, Philippe the host is great to deal with and goes out of his way to be helpful. When we arrived late on a Saturday and yet he was ready to greet us and in fact he took us for a walk around the area when we inquired about restaurant options. He provides a binder with all the important information you need about the studio apt and the local area, plus he has a lot of books and pamphlet resources about Paris.

The studio itself is small, but comfortable, and comes complete with kitchen and washing machine, which really came in handy. The Murphy bed was comfortable and the room is pretty quiet as you are up on the 4th floor. The elevator to the room is tiny, by American standards (it says up to 3 people) and so is the shower, but we are not large people so it was fine for us. If you are big people, you might be a bit more challenged with both the elevator and shower space.

The location of this apt is great if you plan on doing a lot of walking in Paris, which we did. Close to the Louvre and Notre Dame. Right around the corner is Lombard street, full of restaurants and jazz bars, really fun. Montogruiel street, a foodie favorite for restaurants and French cuisine, is just a couple of blocks away.

One note on location: the apt is on a fairly small street that is not always shown on local maps, so when you get there, get your street bearings and indicators set so you don't end up getting lost. The first night walking back to the apt. we ended up walking around in circles because Google GPS gets really confused when you are right in the heart of neighborhoods, which can all look very similar. Once we got our bearings, all was good getting back.

Both the Metro and bus stops are within one block, really convenient for getting around Paris.

We would definitely go back to stay here. Great time in Paris. Thanks Philippe!

Owner's Response: Thanks John for your review. The satisfaction of my tenants is essential for me. But, there is a small mistake in your message. The apartment is located on the 6th floor and not on the 4th floor. And I don't understand your point about the street at the end of your message. The building is located on a square where there is a fountain (dating from the Renaissance), well-known to the Parisians, and not in a small street. I don't know if Google GPS is confused or not, but I give all the necessary explanations to find the apartment before the arrival of the tenants. The location is very central, at the heart of Paris. The Metro (direct from the airport) is very close to the building. It will be a great pleasure for me to welcome you again in my apartment in Paris.

Can't say enough about the great location for this apartment. Two convenient metro stations and so many restaurants, shopping & tourist spots within walking distance. The apartment is smaller than expected but we were hardly ever there since we explored the entire time. Would stay again!

Owner's Response: Thank you Kelly for your nice review. It is always very important for me that tenants are satisfied with their stay in my apartment. The surface is 28 m2 (300 square feet), very comfortable for a couple as everything has been optimized by an architect (custom furniture, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable bedding, efficient heating and air conditioning, etc.). I can understand that this may seem small for Americans who live in large properties in the countryside, but for the city of Paris, it is a large studio. Many Parisian apartments are smaller. It will be a pleasure to welcome you again in my apartment.

Location!!! Great apartment, quiet and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED this place! Updated, but historical elements.

Near Pompidou area. Very close to metro, RER and restaurants, shops. The sound-proof windows block the city noise.

Apartment has a lot of light and is really comfortable. It's a studio, so it's not large but we had plenty of space for a week. Great bed.

Phillipe had excellent communication before, during and was very kind and helpful.

We will stay here again!

Perfect Parisian Home for 2 Weeks

  • 5 of 5

The location is spectacular. We were able to get everywhere in the city from the apartment. The apartment is small but clean and everything was in working order. We can echo the comments of others that for a Murphy bed, the bed was surprisingly comfortable. Philippe could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We would certainly recommend this property to others who are visiting Paris and want a comfortable, economical home base for their stay in the city.

Clean and perfect for a couple

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our stay at this property. The apartment is charming and compact. Close to Metro and the Louvre, it is a perfect place to stay if you want to see the sights. Building also surrounded by lots of restaurants and night life, so great if you're looking to spend the night out. Kitchenette is fully equipped for those nights when you just want to stay in and watch a movie.
