About Alex Romanov

Back in the 90's, I decided to ride my bicycle solo across the continent from NYC over to Seattle, then down the West coast to LA. Yep, that's about 6,000 self-propelled miles in a 6 months period. What a life-changing journey it was! Besides seeing so many awesome places, I met countless cool people. I was very impressed by how many people were so open and forthcoming to invite a compete stranger off the road into their homes to crash for the night. All across mid-west I barely had a chance to spend a night alone in my tent. People's good nature and hospitality made a lasting impact on me then.

To this day, I continue to travel way off the beaten path to the far corners of our globe, and I never stop being amazed by my human encounters. Being a host here in Miami, gives me a chance to extend my good vibe back towards the traveling community. OK, I'll admit that my hospitality comes with a price tag. Nevertheless, my goal is to offer my guests a cool and comfortable place, so that their experience in MY corner of the world is just as positive and memorable.

Perfect place for South Beach

This was a perfect place to stay in South Beach. Everything we wanted was right next to the building: beach, restaurants, shopping, clubs, art galleries... The apartment was well maintained and had all the comforts for a vacation rental. Plenty of extra towels, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture. I also liked how it was decorated and how the whole place was laid out. It was a very good value for the money, and Alex was on top of everything and well organized. We got all our directions and key codes in advance so we were able to check in on our own as soon as we got to South Beach. If we had any questions, Alex was always easy to reach and provide good advice. The entire experience was smooth and easy, and we are perfectly satisfied . Will stay here again.

Great Location in Miami

The rental was just as promised. Comfortable bed, futon, and space for airbed. The location was great as there are many options to eat nearby and walking distance from the night scene.

The owner was very professional and easy to work with to get everything situated. Instructions couldn't have been more clearer.

I would recommend this location to anyone looking for an affordable stay in the South Beach, Miami area.

More like a COLLEGE DORM or HOSTEL than an Apartment..... DO NOT STAY

Sadly, this has to be one of the worst rental experiences that I have ever had - on my birthday at that! I arrived in South Beach Saturday, 3/18 and because our itinerary was so packed - my friend and I did not arrive to the unit until 10PM or so. After arriving, we instantly felt like we had walked into a slum in an over ran inner city. The hallways had a MUSTY odor & were filthy with trash and random things lying about. (we actually saw a loaf of Bread as we entered by the door) There was music blasting as we passed by each doorway & when we arrived to our unit it had a stale odor as well. At first glance it seemed to be in good condition - but as we prepared to head out that night we noticed that there was a multitude of issues.

* the cable did not work AT ALL

* there are no wash clothes/hand towels

* muggy/humid inside the apartment (worse than outside)

* floors unswept/dirty

* no paper towels

* no hand soap

* half used toiletry items everywhere

* no ice/water

* the hallways/common areas are filthy and feel unsafe

* there's a foul smell in the hallways

* noise level is UNBEARABLE

The noise was the worst of all as we tried to take a quick nap before heading out - which did not work because it literally sounded like they were banging furniture on the floor upstairs. This continued throughout the night and into the morning.

When we notified Alex about the noise and additional problems with the unit he only seemed to care slightly about the noise. ****All the other issues that the apartment lacked he brushed off and acted as if it came with the territory. (Important note - Another girlfriend came to the unit to go out with us to a club that evening and she decided to stay on the futon overnight.) We decided to leave and get a hotel room the next morning because the stay was completely unbearable at this point. Because we had been in the unit less than 12 hours, I requested a refund of the 2nd day that we had paid for. You would think that if we paid for a 2 night stay and there was as many issues that occurred, this would be a no-brainer. At least for one night, right? No. Alex gave me the run around for a week about the status of the refund request, and then when I contacted Homeaway directly he sent me an email saying that he had denied my refund request and actually THREATENED to charge additional $$ to my CC for my girlfriend (1) who slept on the futon saying it was a breach of contract - IF I pursued it further. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Owner's Response: Dear travelers, please use your judgement and compare this single terrible review to my other twenty-one 5-star rated reviews. How can so many guests be super pleased with their experience, and one so angry? Kaye is not just disappointed, she is obviously spiteful, and went to great lengths writing this long and damaging review. Well, here’s why. I provide my guests with electronic key codes and allow them to check-in on their own, especially for late arrivals. Kaye booked a reservation for two, but arrived with extra people. When I confronted her, and gave her an option to either register her guests properly and pay extra fees, or tell her extra friends to leave, she denied that extra people are planning to stay overnight. When I presented her with security camera footage showing that each person in her group is actually arriving with their own set of luggage, Kaye retaliated by demanding a refund justifying it with an endless list of completely ridiculous and imaginary complaints. I am sorry, Kaye, I spoiled your plans to turn my place into your own private nightclub for your birthday, and I am not going to be manipulated by your spiteful reviews into giving you a refund! People who read this, have common sense.

Very clean condo in a great location!

I would highly recommend this condo. It is within a short walking distance to Lincoln Road Mall, Espaniola Way, the beach and many clubs and restaurants. Alex was a pleasure to communicate with as he very quickly responded to any questions I had. Customer service was clearly a high priority for him. Also, there were beach chairs and a beach umbrella for our use that made our days that much more comfortable.

Great apartment. Provided everything we needed including comfortable bed, tv set, well provided kitchen and chairs. Excellent location. Ideal for going to the beach, shopping, clubs, restaurants... Espanola way is only a couple of blocks away with so many cozy cafes and restaurants Easy to get a taxi also, as a fun, lively area. Host was very accommodating. Emailed us promptly for queries plus let us stay a few hours extra to help us out with out flight time. Great stay. Fully recommend it!
