Perfect City Dwelling: Relax And Enjoy All That Cambridge And Boston Can Offer

About Doriana Chialant
This suite was my first home in Cambridge: I loved the neighborhood, the building, the space and our life here so much, I could not let go of it when I upgraded to a bigger unit. I have lived in other countries and cities, but find that Cambridge gives me the right balance of architecture, city living, easy country and beach access, outdoor activities, river walks and tree-lined streets and peaceful ponds.
Doriana Chialant purchased this Condo in 1999
Why Doriana Chialant chose Mid-Cambridge
Enjoy all that Cambridge can offer (just about anything you can think of) without worrying about how to get there or having to carry anything with you: you can always stop by home for a few minutes of relaxation, have a meal delivered to you, use your own facilities.... and then hop back into the swing of New England living. Or rent a bike or a car by the hour to get a bit further out to reach downtown Boston, ski resorts, beaches, the Cape, the Berkshires....
What makes this Condo unique
It is the perfect size for a peaceful get away in the heart of the city or a study or writing retreat. I also love the unit's simple lines, large original windows, high ceilings, original molding, original wood floors and preserved space proportions. The building is usually very quiet and the residents tend to have a laid back and friendly attitude.

We liked the location. The apartment was satisfactory. The only issue was with the parking. The nearest parking garage is half mile away and is kind of expensive. Other than that it was good.
Clean, well-equipped base in Cambridge. Cautions for Seniors
We found this apartment to suit our requirements for proximity to Harvard and downtown Cambridge. It was suitable for longer and shorter stays. Quiet milieu as promised. Owner provided thoughtful items such as plentiful towels and well-equipped kitchen, including perishables like coffee and tea. Ample closet space and chests of drawers were especially appreciated. Wifi works well. TV was basic. Bed is a roomy queen; mattress just adequate.
Cautionary notes for seniors are that the building lacks elevator; apartment is located on the third floor. Antique bathtub can be slippery; grab bar would be useful.
This is one of my favorite areas to stay when in Cambridge. Very short walk to a bus stop on Mass Ave which can take you to the T (Central or Harvard) if you don't want to walk the 5-10 minutes. The apartment is very clean, comfortable and spacious. The hardwood floors are really nice, having a small table to eat or work is great, the couch is serviceable, and the bed is quite comfy. The window AC unit works well to cool the apartment down fairly quickly and the fans help circulate the air (which is good because it gets hot on the third floor in the summer!). There are a few things that prevented me from giving this a 5-star rating. First, the bed pillows are really flat, such that you need to use both to equal 1. There were also no washcloths provided and the towels were pretty thin. Also, the shower definitely makes you feel claustrophobic as there are clear curtains on both sides and they kind of suck in towards you when the shower is running. A curved curtain rod would really help here along with a weighted shower curtain. Despite these small things, I would certainly stay here again.
Clean and comfortable
The apartment was in an excellent location and was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much!
We were very happy with our choice. The apartment is at walking distance from Harvard and MIT. We even walked to and from the Boston Common! The apartment was clean and Doriana was most welcoming. It was a great place to stay!
Exactly as advertised!
We can't say enough about this wonderful apartment. The location is absolutely perfect if you are touring Harvard or MIT. Our host, Doriana, was delightful. She was available to answer every question before and during our stay. She was so kind when we first met that she walked us to Harvard! You do not need a car if you are touring any of the local colleges. The apartment is spotless and perfect for a 3 night stay or a 3 month stay. We would absolutely stay here again and hope to have that opportunity in the future!
Thank you! You are very kind. I'd love to see you again in the future!
This location is truly in Mid-Cambridge. The apt is between Harvard and Central Squares and minutes from Harvard and MIT, and the respective red-line subway stations. Cambridge Hospital and Inman Square within walking distance. MGH hospital and downtown Boston are about a 10 minute subway ride. The Charles River is around the corner with excellent access during the Regatta. Bus stations, restaurants, movie theaters, museums, cafes, gyms, grocery stores, and much more, abound in the neighborhood. Wonderful neighborhood for walking with tree lined cobblestone streets with Victorian mansions and classic red brick building and the lovely gardens of Harvard Campus, No need for a car, but if you want to take a trip elsewhere, ZipCar parking locations are also just minutes away. Logan airport accessible by car or by subway.
