About Owner/Manager

I absolutely love Portland and all that it has to offer. I recently relocated to be closer to family and wanted to keep my condo in Portland so I can visit, as well as allow friends, family, and guests to experience Portland.

Owner/Manager purchased this condo in 2003

Guestbook comments from the owner

My family of four (2 adults and 2 large teens) rented this condo for five nights in July

2011 while we were in town visiting family. It is very clean and in a great central

Portland location. The beds are nicely firm and comfortable. Also, both beds were made

up with duvet covers, which I much prefer over the I-wonder-if-this-has-this-ever-beenwashed blankets. The condo was surprisingly quiet, even though it is the first floor of a

multi-family unit. It is not as if the 2nd floor was vacant; I could hear people walking

around, but their footsteps were very quiet. The benefits of an older building, I suppose.

We were able to park directly in front of the condo, on the street, no problem. The

owner, Tom, was very accessible, even though he lives out of town. There was a small

problem with a leaky faucet, but Tom was right on it and had it fixed the very next day!

The parking in Portland stinks and this place is no exception. Over all experience was pleasant.

Great location, well equiped home

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time. The location was within walking distance or short Uber rides to restaurants, pubs, etc. The home had everything we needed to stay in and cook a family meal as well. Thanks!

Convenient and functional

  • 3 of 5

Myself and three friends enjoyed a recent stay at this condo over Labor Day weekend. I would agree with other reviews that this condo is located in a great area, has plenty of on-street parking, and is quite functional. Pretty much everything you could need is there - coffee maker & grinder, dishes, cooking apparatus, dishwasher, microwave, oven/stove and plenty of dishes/cups etc. Coffee & sugar were provided which was an unexpected surprise and appreciated. We did miss the absence of a blender and the addition of a simple one for future guests could be considered. We erroneously thought the sofa was a hide-a-bed but it turns out there is a double-sized inflatable mattress provided which was more comfortable than the couch itself. Wi-fi access was fast and easily accessible. While it was in the high 90's throughout our stay, I agree that ceiling fans and two floor fans kept us all comfortable and we did not notice the lack of A/C. Plenty of linens & towels available though the pillows are a bit on the flat side. Mattresses in both bedrooms are similar to futons which was fine for us but other guests should be forewarned if not used to them or their "firmness".

Some minor suggestions for upgrading the place for future visitors would be perhaps a curtain or shade for the front door window because otherwise this allowed clear viewing and access into the place. We also found the lighting in the dining room to essentially be non-existent. Unsure if this was due to low voltage bulbs in the overhead light or the poor quality of the light fixture itself. While it allowed for nice mood lighting, you really had poor visibility in that room. The clawfoot shower has two shower curtains which just misses complete coverage so we did experience some escape of water on the floor - maybe adding one additional shower liner and curtain would alleviate this problem.

Our only main complaint (which is minor) is as noted by others, this condo is sparsely decorated and quite bare and can appear pretty stark. The woodwork is beautiful and any additional investment in decor would certainly brighten up the place. However, we knew this before we arrived and it did not alter our enjoyment of the place but it does contrast with other VRBO places where more thought has gone into making a place more cheery and welcoming. That being said, we'd stay again on future Portland visits due to its location and available amenities nearby.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback the description of the unit explains that it is a blowup queen size air mattress and does not mention a pullout couch.  The lighting fixture in the living room is actually on a dimmer switch. If you are not familiar with these newer type switches the slider is on the left of the switch but otherwise looks like a conventional toggle type switch. The fixture is actually an original bronze cast light.  In 1900 it was a gas fixture.  So, I am great full it was converted and saved.  Their have been at least two other floor type lighting fixtures in that room, but have been broken and based on your suggestion we will replace them. I encourage any guests too contact me during their stay if they run into items they need so that we can make their stay as comfortable as possible.

Great neighborhood!!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed ourselves at this property. We were close to everything we needed. It was 90 degrees all the time we stayed here but the fans kept us cool. It was only 2 bedrooms but there was plenty of space for 5 of us. There was an aerobed and we all slept well!! I would stay here again!!
