About Ted Hollander
Our family loves spending time in this house. Many great moments have been spent there, time on the beach, bike rides, and just relaxing. We travel with our 2 dogs (Kody and Roxy) and they love the beach too!
Ted Hollander purchased this House in 2011
Why Ted Hollander chose Fort Pierce
We chose to buy our home in Hutchinson Island because of the completely laid back atmosphere, it's close location to everything, and the amazing our door activities that are available, almost year round.
What makes this House unique
The best part about this home is that it directly on the ocean. Walks on the beach in the early morning, or early evening are so relaxing. We have spent many hours hanging out in the ocean, playing ball, building sand castles, looking for shells, and always have the best time. Because you are direclty on the beach, it is so convenient. Taking breaks or grabbing lunch inside the house are so easy to do.

WISH I OWNED THE PLACE!
This place was great. Right on the beach. Peaceful and quiet (has thick hurricane impact windows) and looked even better in person. Everything worked and of course, the beach was beautiful! Most unique house in that area in my opinion.
PERFECT BEACH VACATION!!
This house is a real gem.The pictures are nice but when you get there you are blown away.Everything in the house is top notch and CLEAN!Everything you need is there.Just pack your clothes.I was worried renting a house but felt right at home.We enjoyed the beach(steps away) which was very private and quiet. The restaurants were really outstanding! The farmers market on the weekend was super. It had some great stuff. We really took advantage of that and brought home a lot of goodies. We had family there for a weekend and there was plenty of room for everyone. We are booking every year from now on.I can't say enough about this beautiful place.
Wonderful weekend in a cozy and spacious beach home
My family and I had blissful weekend in Hutchinson Island. It was an important time for our family as we were on a family vacation to celebrate my father-in-laws 70th birthday. Ted, the owner, was extremely helpful and gave us great information about what the area had to offer. As a result we were able to visit a local fresh market on Saturday. The house was warm and inviting and beautifully decorated - the pictures online really don't completely do it justice. It was just lovely and had everything we needed - bikes, fishing poles, etc. We really could not have asked for more because it was perfect! We are so grateful that the home was available on such short notice, and we can't thank Ted enough for accommodating us!
Great Beach house!!
We stayed 4 days with granddaughters and their parents, and had a fabulous time. What a wonderful stay. Listing was accurate, Ted was very helpful, as was his property manager, Mike. Clean, well equipped, and pictures reflected reality. I would stay again with family and friends. We enjoyed the Oxbow Eco Center and Nelson Family Farms for fresh fruits and vegatables.
The owner, Ted, was very quick to respond to our questions before and after we put down a deposit. Well done!
Wonderful Beach House!
We stayed at this wonderful beach house for two weeks in February 2012. Everything about the house was clean, well appointed, and bright, from the excellent mattresses, comfortable couches, view of theocean from the second floor, spacious kitchen, bikes and boogie boards in the garage, and the fenced back yard. The house sleeps 8- 10 with a bath on each floor; four of us were very comfortable. Soundproofing is being added to the windows which will eliminate any noise from Rte A1A. The landlord was prompt and helpful before, during, and even after our stay. We enjoyed eating at Chuck's, a great seafood restaurant about a mile away, playing golf on the local public courses, and most of all loved the incredible ocean view from the second floor sitting area and deck. This is a very special rental.
Seven Days in "My Yellow House on Hutchinson Island
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION is an understatement in this Yellow House on the Atlantic Ocean.
Wow! I have wanted to stay in a house on the Atlantic Ocean on Hutchinson Island Beach since I was a little girl. I so lucked out with the very first one I clicked on at vrbo.com just two nights before I had to travel there on very short notice. My landlord was so polite, the house was exactly like the photographs—no even better. You just have to see it in person to appreciate it. The beach was mine all day and all night and that water and beach to me was comparable to the Pensacola Beach scene from the movie Contact after the sun took its time to set. Walking on the beach at night with my two little dogs, flashlights and solar lights was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. I never knew so many curious little critters came out of the ocean after dark to hide in the sand and then surfed all across the waves. I saw crabs, and tiny animals I could not name. But the baby seagulls floating over the waves I personally witnessed through my LED flashlights were so outrageously awesome and me without a flash camera. Afterwards, I wondered my way home so easily in the dark via the lone coconut palm tree in my backyard that connected me to the ocean. Oh, did I mention my mother grew up in Fort Pierce nearly a hundred years ago in the House of Seven Gables (now the Ft. Pierce Welcome Station on Hutchinson Island) so my cousins and aunts and uncles all came over a couple of times and they enjoyed it immensely too. I cannot wait to return and stay there again and again. My yellow house on the ocean... Well, I wish it was mine. It was for seven magnificent sunshiny days... Why did I ever leave? BTW, when you rent this house, go eat at Chuck's
Restaurant right down the road. My mother's sister, Elodie Slay Taybor McCready, opened it up in 1965 and at the age of 94 she still hostesses their a few nights a week. And do go to Archie's the Biker Bar walking distance from your front door, if you need to catch a football game that's not on the TV with 10 million channels to pick from. And have the time of your life, just like I did.
