Convenient location - but not much else
The Windsor Hills resort was a great location for our trip to Disney World. It is convenient to all of the parks - Magic Kingdom was the farthest away at about 15-20 minutes. However, the townhouse which we rented through IPG is clearly very old and in need of an update. The pictures provided on this site are not completely accurate - the TV in the family room has been updated to a flat screen. But the rest of the townhouse really shows its age. The beds are extremely squeaky - I'm sure the frames and mattresses must be close to 20 years old. The kids bedroom had bright pink floral bedding - which is also not accurately shown in the picture. The drapery by the front door is ripped - and a customer review in the townhouse's binder stated it was that way in January of 2015. So clearly not much gets fixed. The kitchen was a complete disappointment. No dishtowels or potholders are provided - is that something people usually take on vacation? The pots and pans were warped - I had to use tongs to prop up the handle of the skillet in order get the sausage to cook evenly. The kitchen tools - plastic spoons - were also warped or damaged. While plates and cups are provided, don't expect much else. There wasn't even a serving bowl or tongs for salad. I had also planned to make fries in the oven – but the cookie sheet was ½ the size of the one I use a home. While I realized that this would not be a luxury resort, I was definitely disappointed by the townhouse. One tiny garbage bag was provided in the kitchen and one small roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. No other paper products were provided. While the townhouse is in walking distance to the clubhouse, the pool was always very crowded. My kids did not like the pool. They said that grates at the bottom of the pool were constantly scraping their feet. Speaking of the pool, the property does not provide pool towels. I initially didn't think we had even 6 towels for us to each have 1 - until I found a couple in the linen closet - and a couple more in the dryer. All of the towels need to be replaced - small, old, and scratchy. Since we had to rent the townhome for 7 nights, I expected better amenities. IPG should provide pictures of what is actually provided - or a list so renters know what they are getting.
