The Owner purchased this cabin in 1999
Centrally located in the Heart of Georgia, 3-4 hours from beach and mountains. Many attractions in area for entertainment. Shopping in the Historic town of Perry with quaint shops along the town square & antique shops in the area. Then drive over to Centerville to the Galleria Mall, about a twenty five min drive. Mossy Creek festival located across the street from cabin. April & Oct. Easy access to Ga. National Fairgrounds & Agricenter (about 10 minutes way)
Peaceful, relaxing, enjoying the back deck that offers beautiful views of lake and nature. The choice of cooking at home in a fully equipped kitchen or the convenience of eating out, minutes away. The comfort of having 4 bedrooms for family and guests and all can gather in 'Great Room' for visiting, fun, and T.V. Driving to Lanes Orchard for fresh peach ice cream is a favorite. My husband loves the golf at Houston Lake County Club which is 5 minutes away. The friendliness of the people everywhere is so refreshing. That southern hospitality is the real deal.
We rented the house while working at the National Fair for 11 days and got home late from working one night and locked our selves out of the house on accident and the property manager quickly came and unlocked the door for us. She also put pumpkins out on the pouch for us. The little details make it so nice!
My husband and I booked the Crane's Nest for 3 nights for a wedding weekend, and it was everything we hoped for and more! The owners were very accommodating, and Stacy, the property manager, was prompt and helpful. We had a large party of guests, and there was plenty of space for all, as well as great amenities: from extra linens to firewood to all the kitchen essentials we needed to make a spontaneous buffet breakfast! Definitely recommend, we would love to go back!
What a great place to stay and relax. We were there for a wedding and of course the interstate hotels were not an option since we needed a minimum of 4 rooms. All our grown children with their guests all stayed with us in the spacious "cabin". When I think of cabin I think small. This was so spacious and roomy we got confused where some of the rooms led too. It was great especially in the evenings when we all gathered in the main room for festivities. Everybody had a wonderful time being there, sitting on the spacious back porch and playing football on the front yard. We saw owls, hawks, and numerous critters. Everything was well maintained, clean, and there was nothing missing. I would consider going back to Cranes Nest anytime. Its more of a gathering place for friends and family since there is not a lot to do in the area. Another great thing is you have plenty of shopping "Groceries" and some restaurants nearby. Even met the neighbors next door with their 3 dogs as well. Great times were had by all...
We have stayed at Crane's Nest seven times totaling almost 90 days. It has become our home away from home and every time we arrive it's as if we are home again. This spacious "cabin" is perched atop a hill overlooking Lake Joy with views that are just outstanding. With 4 large bedrooms (three with walk-in closets) there is more than enough room for large family get togethers. The kitchen is open to a great room that has to be over 1600 square feet itself and is stocked with most every convenience and gadget one could need. The high speed internet keeps everyone in touch with the outside world.
We have had family gatherings here (we are from Michigan with many relatives in Warner Robbins) during Thanksgiving and Christmas and the large dining area comes in real handy. Our two dogs seem to sense good
times ahead when we pack the car to head south to Crane's Nest! The photo of the home does not do the property justice as the entire structure has been stained to look brand new!
We had a delightful time at Crane's Nest. The cabin was very spacious and well stocked, the beds were extremely comfortable, and everyone felt very comfortable and safe staying there. I wholeheartedly recommend this cabin for families. If you have very small children, I suggest being very careful on the deck as the benches built around the trees are built in such a way a child could easily fall through the gap around the tree trunks. Also the clock and bird cage inside are top heavy and a little unsteady making then susceptible to being pulled down if tugged on. None of these things were major issues. We had our 2 year old son running around and just had to keep a close eye on him when he was near these things. Both Sheryl (the property owner) and Stacy (the property manager) were extremely accommodating and pleasant to work with from organized the trip through our arrival and departure. Should we visit Perry again, I intend to re-book.
My family came for a special occasion and we had a wonderful time. The large great room is perfect for everyone to be together but still be able to do his/her own thing as desired. The porch is great for relaxing and the bedrooms are spacious and inviting.
