Live Like A Local in A Lincoln Park Unit near DePaul University

The owner was very lovely to deal with and someone met us at the apartment when we got there. It is comfy, good beds, nice fireplace (one not working) and is in a great neighborhood. Bedrooms are smaller than they look in the pictures but were fine for our stay. Because we came over the holidays and most people probably rent in warmer weather, some of the staples we would of liked such as salt, were not available. We would definitely rent again.

We enjoyed this apartment tremendously. We cooked thanksgiving dinner there for 6 people, and the kitchen worked well. Gas range and outdoor barbeque were put into good use. Restaurants and shops are just around the corner on Armitage, as is the L. Several good restaurants are on the same block as the unit. You can also walk to whole foods, where there is another group of retailers and restaurants by the river. Just walking in the neighborhood of brownstones was wonderful.

We made use of both fireplaces and all three bedrooms were comfortable. The beds were very comfortable with good linens and comforters.

Bridget was very attentive, and came over the day before Thanksgiving to restart one of the fireplaces for us.

Only criticism is that the cookware is more suited to warming up stuff rather than actual cooking. We donated a cast iron skillet to the unit. And there was some noise from the neighbors above (other visitors?) who were out on their deck late at night.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat - hard to imagine a better unit and location in Chicago.

We had a great stay. The property is located in a great neighborhood with restaurants, shopping, etc. right out the door. The street is an arterial, but that doesn't take away from the property. In fact, it probably works to your advantage is you're without a car (as we were). The interior is comfortable. Most everything you need is on hand, and if something isn't readily available there's enough infrastructure to improvise. A couple minor things were noticeable, such as no salt, very little dish soap, and no dishwasher detergent, but not a big deal. It would also be handy if there was laundry detergent. The flat has a washer/dryer but without detergent on hand...or that I could find. Again...deal-breaker? Nope, but certainly an inconvenience if there was a need for an emergency load of laundry. We couldn't get the cable TV to work, but that was adressed in no time. All in all, a great place. Would I return? Absolutely.

What a great experience... this house was perfect for the six of us... it was comfortable and had everything we needed - from a spacious living area to an outdoor patio and garden... we were steps from restaurants, bars and places to pick up whatever we needed... Bridget was pleasant and easy to deal with... she met us at the house, showed us around and answered all our questions... she was very knowledgeable about the neighborhood and also the many ways to get around... the best part was we were able to get in early as our flight came in before the check in time... we will definitely be coming back and plan on staying here again...

Nice house and well located. The beds are very comfortable. The owner was very accommodating with our needs since we arrived at night.
