The Vibe: You’ve arrived!
Enter the gated garden. See the crystal blue water ahead. Your Caribbean experience begins. Step through the iron gates and enter your new oceanfront home in Rincon, Puerto Rico. As you feel the sea breeze on your skin and look around, you sense that careful planning has taken place to assure optimal comfort and pleasure during your stay.
Step through the gate right onto the golden sand and you are on one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. You can stay out here all day under the cover of tall coconut palms. The calm waters of a beautiful swimming beach are now just steps away.
The building has all the style and quality typical to a 1950’s art deco beach villa. Geometric facades with dimensional pastel treatments enhance a sense of lightness and fun. Tropical influences blend with the “streamline moderne” design of Deco style to intone a laid back lifestyle.
The fully modernized interior offer all the comforts of home with lavish splashes of island color.
Our Neighborhood: The property is located in Estella. It is a colorful and friendly residential community. Estella is not a resort community. There are no casinos, board walks or seaside vendors. The beach is a wild beach, naturally beautiful with only minimal man-made influence. While there are very few large buildings along the beach, there are a few opportunities along your beach walks for food, drink and entertainment.
Here people live their daily lives and speak to each other. It is a friendly community located in a friendly small town. Here you can see free roaming chickens on the street, youngsters training their trotter ponies and neighbors just visiting. Life is slow is this beach community. This is a great place for small and large families and friends to gather for a quiet, fun time on the beach
For those that enjoy natural beauty, a laid back lifestyle, in a private noncommercial setting 8th and Ocean fits the bill. Our newly restored building offers all the conveniences of home.

I moved to Rincon, Puerto Rico in 2009 from California with my wife and our 2 dogs. We love sharing our town with tourists. I manage a few vacation rentals in RIncon and will be happy to help you find the right property.
James Westfall purchased this villa in 2010
This villa is beachfront on a sandy calm water beach, close to town, grocery, restuarants, and other activities, no car needed.
Shaded beach, flexible floorplans, no car needed.
8th and Ocean is gorgeous, the indoor living is nearly as beautiful as the outdoor spaces. Its quite obvious that everything is sparkling clean and brand new. The space is large, which is a nice change from some rentals that tend to be cramped to fit more units. There is plenty to do nearby, either walking on the beach or with a car rental. A short walk away there are wave runners to rent which is a lot of fun, but its far enough that it doesnt affect the experience on the beach in front of the rental. It was wonderful to have the beach nearly to ourselves. Wonderful place, I will be back!
The house was amazing. We booked it for a week and had about 16 Adults and 6 kids. Everyone had plenty of space. The neighborhood is easy to get around. The water is the perfect temperature and the kids had a great time snorkling. The house is very clean. Everything you need is there. The management is attentive and fix any issues propmtly.
The laundry service only being one day was a little tough as the towels were a little salty by day 5 but we managed. I also wish they would have changed the sheets more as they got very sandy but the adults maintained the rooms so they wouldnt get out of hand.
GREAT HOUSE and currently planning our 2016 trip. We wish the house was bigger so we could invite more people to join us.
We had the pleasure of staying in the two bedroom villa and really enjoyed our stay, it was one couple and a single adult. The place was completely outfitted with everything that you would need for your stay. The only thing we were lacking was a salt shaker which we could not find at the full service grocery store near by. The beach infront is perfect for wading in the water and long romantic walks along with beach.
Jim and his property manager were very courteous and prompt in responding to any reuests.
We were there for a surf trip and did leassons with Rincon Surf School so we spent most of our time at the surfing beaches. There is a few restaurants and the grocery store within walking distace but we drove every place else. Parking was fine..
Its hard to know where to start. I guess its just one word: Beachfront. The beach is a narrow strip of relaxation. The water is warm and while the water is not super calm, it is inviting and fun to be carried by the waves. The property includes grills, beach chairs to lounge on and many tables and chairs in the patio that overlook the water. Its nice not to have to lug your stuff into a bag or into a car in order to go to the beach. Lounging with your morning coffee on the beach is the best.
Rincon is a great mix of touristy/real town; it is more of a small sleepy beach community, so someone wanting an authentic and quiet/relaxing vacation is going to find it here.
The owner and the property manager were very laid back and very helpful with my annoying request to ship items to the property. They were accommodating.
The place itself boasts many bedrooms with a lot of privacy. The place itself is just as it appears on the video, very clean and inviting. Not 5-star fancy, but very nice with granite counter tops and great appliances and free wifi (better reception downstairs). As someone that loves to cook on vacation, the kitchen was well equipped. Bathrooms were on the small-side, but were very nice.
I rented the entire property. The smaller unit upstairs is cute and cozy. The downstairs was great because of the patio. The upstairs boasts an amazing view of the beach with a nice balcony and a great kitchen and dining space.
My guests had the best time and I recommend this as a place for a relaxing family vacation or romantic getaway.
We had 15 people including a 2 year old and the main downstairs and upstairs units were more than big enough. Plenty of space, nice beds and bathrooms. The beachfront is great for bodysurfing, snorkeling and watching the sunset, and with 5 artists in the group we made use of the lovely fine sand to make a huge sand village in front of the house for the baby! Restaurants and grocery in walking distance help a lot!
My children, daughter age 25 and my twin sons, age 23 and I had a great visit to 8th and Ocean and stayed in the Gran Vista for Christmas week. This location was picked by my wife in February of last year. She had been fighting cancer for several years and passed away in July. But to stay true to her wishes, we made the trip and are so very glad we did. A time to reflect, to heal.. And to explore, which is what my wife and their mother would have wanted us to do. You need to rent a vehicle to really check out the whole area. We found great quiet beaches, rented snorkel equipment and found some great spots up near Steps beach. Took a sunset cruise on a sailboat from the local Marina. We tried small local food places and bought groceries and cooked our own meals too in the Gran Vista kitchen. The beach is so close you hear the waves crashing as background noise all the time. Very soothing. We opened all the windows and doors to enjoy the steady breeze every day. NO BUGS AT ALL!! ( how is that possible ?) Small smooth pieces of sea glass wash up right out front on the beach everyday. If you are checking the weather when you go, don't be alarmed if you see a forecast for 60% chance of rain. Unlike the states, when that usually means there is a good chance it will rain most of the day, in Rincon that means there is a 60% chance it will rain somewhere near Rincon for about 10 minutes at some point on that day. I discovered this to be the case when three days had that local forecast and it really only rained for about 10 minutes on one of them. Sunny for the rest of the day. I would recommend this location to anyone, especially for a family bonding experience. And by the way, the sunsets are honestly like some kind of special effects you see in movies!
An excellent, clean, spacious, and quiet retreat. Our group of 25 was welcomed by smiling and friendly greeters who made us feel right at home. This retreat is located on your own stretch of beach with a balcony overlooking where sunsets take your breath away. The kitchens were well stocked with everything needed for cooking (and a grocers just a short ways away), the furniture was comfortable and clean. It's within a short beach walk of many water attractions (jet skiing, surfing, boating, water tubing, paddle board, and more) and delicious beachfront restaurants.
We HIGHLY recommend staying here for your trip to Rincon. You will not be disappointed.
