Nice enough, but not perfect!
This house was very nice, but needed a bit of TLC. Bed in the master was not comfortable, no hair dryer, although it was replaced into the week. A few minor things that needed repair and these were done. Linens were poor, not even ironed! Noisy builder next door on and off the week, plus, one morning 2 guys were bringing stuff around the back, didn't even knock, had my dog there and obviously she barked! I was asked to put the garbage out for 2weeks prior, this was in smelly bins in front of the door, no problem putting my own rubbish out but had to clear a mess up. Also, 2weeks of recycling, was in a mess and flies ++,,owner did come to clear up halfway into my stay, but, not a good impression to start!
Nice quiet setting, although no sun on the deck. Beach near, but hard to walk on as stones.
Could be lovely, just needs some care
There was a few things that needed to be dealt with, loose toilet seat, a bolt that came off the ironing board. The caretaker took care of here things the next day. The hairdryer had been stolen, I provided a new one. There was lots of garbage left after this rental, recyclables and returnables not separated, some in the garbage. The recyclers and garbage collectors will not take this away. It caused a problem with the next renters. steve
Quiet and restful!

Karen, thanks for your review.Great that you had an enjoyable holiday. - steve
A Week in Bowser
Property was modern, clean, spacious and exactly as described - no complaints. When we arrived, we were met by a neighbour who acts as an on-site caretaker. We had one, very minor issue during our stay which was resolved immediately by the caretaker. The house is about a one minute walk to the beach. While the beach is rocky, we had great fun exploring at low tide when sandy spots were exposed. We saw many crabs, starfish and fish.
We used the house as a base to explore Qualicum, Parksville, Deep Bay and Coombs. We visited swimming holes at Little Qualicum Falls (where we saw cray fish) and at Top Bridge Park. We mountain biked in Cumberland and Mount Washington Bike Park.
All in all a great time for me and my kids.
