This home is very unique, has countryside appeal, yet close to all! Nestled up in the foothills, amongst the trees and all that nature has to offer, yet centrally located; just minutes (7 miles away) to Ashland, the Shakespeare Festival, & Lithia Park. The town of Talent (3 miles away) has everything you need; restaurants, market, post office, awesome local coffee shop, farmers market, ....and much more should a trip to Medford or Ashland be needed. Historic Jacksonville, several wineries are a short hop away. It's even close to several mountain bike trails.
You are within driving distance to Crater Lake, Rogue River rafting, Applegate River activities, horseback riding & several lakes. With all the characteristics and charm of this home, it is the perfect place to re-group after a day of theater, sightseeing, or doing any of the other many activities in the area. You can lounge on the deck listening to the birds, or watch the butterflies go by. Enjoying morning coffee or an afternoon beverage is a real delight on the sun drenched deck. Equally relaxing is throwing a blanket on the lawn for a picnic or a nap.
This property has been in my family since the 1940's! My uncle chose this spot to hand build this home in the 1970's. The logs you see in the home were cut from the trees on this property. The antique windows are from a church and a fruit packing plant that are no longer in existence. The antique doors, flooring, and other architectural details were also refurbished from buildings long since gone. Many of the stained glass windows were hand made by my uncle.
Not only does this home offer a central location, it is a very beautiful & unique place to stay. It truly offers the best of both worlds.
We love spending time here! We hope you find it as peaceful & enjoyable as we do.
Keywords: Quiet, peaceful, serene mountain home, yet close to all!

About Mistee
I spent most of my childhood summers here at this property. Now my husband & son are loving it here as much as I do. My husband & I are passionate about nature and being outdoors. We return here often to unwind & yearn to come back to the natural surroundings & peacefulness of this property. We manage the home & property with an emphasis on maintaining a healthy environment for our guest, as well as keeping the natural aspects untouched.
Mistee purchased this House in 2010
Why Mistee chose Jackson County
This property has been passed down through my family and is a very special part of me! It is now my turn to continue loving this home and being a steward of the land it sits on.
What makes this House unique
This home offers serenity, yet it is close to all. It feels far from city life, but it is only minutes away to town. Down the hill is the town of Talent. It has cafes (some with live music and WiFi access), a grocery store, two live theaters, four wineries and several restaurants. A few short minutes away is wonderful Ashland. Medford is also only minutes away. We love just relaxing on our deck & breathing in clean, fresh air. It is hard to leave this beautiful spot.

Rustic cabin
My family and I enjoyed this rustic cabin in the woods. The surrounding area was beautiful. The house was comfortable and although small had everything we needed.
Quaint little forest cabin with miles of charm and splendid personal touches!
What a great getaway. Nestled in the woods up a steep gravel road you are away from it all. Occasional car traffic on the road below, but NO neighbors in sight. It's obvious that the owners and caretakers LOVE this place because their personal touches are found in every direction you turn.
This is a getaway. No AT&T cellphone service and TV reception was a bit spotty, but a fun and varied DVD collection did the trick. Only major drawback was that there is no air conditioning. Granted, we were there in the middle of an unprecedented heatwave, but when I was 105 degrees outside the cabin hit 90 degrees. Fans help, but hot is hot.
My site does state no air conditioning. And yes, it was a very unusually hot summer. As far as cell service, that is more a carrier issue. I provide a land line for free local calls and for guest's convenience. T.V. service is from an antenna because satellite is not possible, because of the trees. My home is a quiet, peaceful retreat away from it all, yet it is still possible to have some conveniences. We are installing a T.V. signal amplifier for better service. Besides the heat, I'm glad you had an enjoyable visit. Thank you for your feedback.
Fantastic Cabin!
Perfect cabin for a getaway from city life! The first morning of our stay we watched a doe and its fawn graze, a family of turkeys and a rabbit hop by. The place is super cute and clean. Great for a family of four!
Thank you! I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay!
Restful relaxation nature Cabin
Excellent place for relaxation and peaceful nature time! Deer can viewed from windows as well as wild turkeys! Quiet sound of nature for nice restful sleep. Close trips to the gorgeous beauty of Ashland, Crater lake and other places like the Oregon coast. The clean cabin has just enough to make you feel comfortable to escape from everyday life!
So peaceful and quiet!
This was a wonderful place to get away from the stresses of the everyday....job and noise of city life melted away when we arrived! It is so quiet, beautiful, and serene. There was a T.V., dvd player and cd player, but I never wanted to use them! I was happily enjoying the peace and quiet this lovely, clean, well stocked home had. It is close to the towns of Ashland, Talent, and Medford. So, after enjoying a nice lunch and a walk around Lithia Park, it was just a short drive back to the peace of this cabin. Mistee was very helpful. She was right, it was a good fit for what we were looking for. We had an amazing, restful mini-vacation.
The cabin is adorable and just a pictured.
The cabin is super cute. Beds are comfy and warm. We were there during a big storm and lost power so a few more battery powered light sources would be helpful. Overall a great cabin to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty right outside the window.
Big storms don't tend to come in too often, but when they do power will go out. I will make sure to put more battery powered light sources in. Thank you for letting me know.
