This historic renovated farmhouse is one of the gems in Lenox. It is surrounded by 15 acres of lawns, gardens, and meadows, and is a short walk to Tanglewood, Kripalu and the Town of Lenox.
The main floor includes double living rooms, one with Steinway grand piano, a library with TV and DVD, powder room, and large dining room with bay windows. The kitchen is new with soapstone counters, a butcher block center island, and windows looking to the garden, meadows and woods.. Appliances are either Bosch or Viking and the refrigerator has thru-door ice and filtered water. The kitchen includes a large family eating area and french doors to the side garden which has a view of Lenox Mountain and an outdoor eating and grill area. Adjacent to the kitchen is the laundry room with washer and dryer.
On the second floor there are five light and airy bedrooms, all recently renovated (1 with queen bed and new private bath, 1 with queen bed and youth bed, and 1 with a full bed and balcony, 2 with single beds) and 2 new hall baths. On the third floor there is a bedroom with 2 twin sized beds. WiFi and central A/C throughout.
It is a short walk to Tanglewood from Broadknolls(the music can be sometimes heard on our porch). The house sits 800' back from the road, affording quiet and privacy.
The farmhouse is ideal for families with children, with lots of room to run and explore. We have a badminton/volley ball green, tetherball, a tree climbing rope, and croquet. The rental includes passes to the local lakefront beach with lifeguards and a changing room/toilet facility.
Also included in the rental are two Tanglewood Friends Passes which provide free Admission for many Tanglewood Music Center recital, chamber and Festival of Contemporary Music performances, discounts for the gift shop and advance registration and discount for talks and walks on the Tanglewood property.

Bonnie and I want to thank you, once again, for permitting us to use your lovely home in Lenox for our week away in the Berkshires.
Each of our children and grandchildren enjoyed their stay with us as well.
When they left after the weekend, we had other family members stay with us and they too had a wonderful time.
Friends, family and I had the pleasure of staying at Broadknolls during July 2015. It is a superb property with many common areas where small groups and individuals can share or spend time alone. The large kitchen is a great place to prepare and eat meals while talking with guests. For more formal meals there is a very attractive dining room. The set-up of bedrooms and bathrooms allows for many choices depending on the nature of guest numbers and associations. The house is very well stocked with fresh linens, towels, cooking tools, etc. The grounds provide for many outdoor activities with the house far enough from the street that privacy and quiet are guaranteed. Walking to Tanglewood or the village is very convenient, easy and pleasant. Other area activities and events are easily reached by car. There are several excellent restaurants in the village and in near-by towns. We found the owner (Olga) very thoughtful, helpful and a pleasure to interact with. When I next wish to rent a summer house in Lenox my first choice will be Broadknolls.
My husband and I have spent the best 4 weeks of the year the last 5 summers in this magnificent house. Although I live in a contemporary ranch home, being surrounded by antiques, a two hundred year old family portrait and a Steinway parlor grand piano makes me feel quite at home and the owner more like family. As a cookbook author, the updated country kitchen with Viking stove and Bosch appliances not to mention every small appliance I need to cook, bake and even make ice cream is an addition that makes living there so wonderful. But what sold me on the property 6 years ago was the hammock looking at the vast green garden with flowers and herbs and an occasional early morning or evening deer. The photo of the yard is my screensaver! If you like music, the arts and want to escape the pressures of everyday life, especially in the city, this is THE place for you...just don't book my four weeks !!!
Our week at Breadknolls was a delight and we would highly recommend it to friends. A walk to Tanglewood and/or Kripalu, it was hard to leave the 15 acres of peaceful field with picnic tables
and/or the rocking chairs on the front porch. Badmiton in the back, a beautiful kitchen, croquet and for piano players a Steinway in the music room. Hard to leave but near everything! The house was immaculate and the listing photos accurate but in real life even more charming and spacious. Our family gives this a WOW.
My family stayed at this house last Summer. It was perfect, great house, great location.
We highly recommend it as long as it isn't for a week that we want to rent it.
