Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Lisa, Thanks so much for staying in touch with us. As you know, I

feel like I made a new friend when I rented from you. I love your home.

Kate and I felt so cozy and had such a good time. One rainy night we made

an awesome crab soup and just chilled. Kate slept upstairs and I pulled out

the sofa downstairs. Both were equally comfortable. We walked to several

great restaurants in Jamaica Plain, and downtown Boston was close and an

easy drive. Great to have a parking space at your condo. Got to the Museum

of Art twice. The bus lines and the T are all close by. City Feed was a

favorite for lunch. We also enjoyed a tour of the brewery. What can I say?

Jamaica Plain is just a wonderful place. Your neighbors were fabulous, the

arboretum was within walking distance (long walk along Jamaica Pond but we

had fun) and our week was perfect. I'm looking forward to staying with you

again.

Lovely, peaceful artist's loft apartment

  • 5 of 5

Our family (3 of us) enjoyed a 3-day stay in this lovely, peaceful artist's loft apartment. We would love to stay here again, if the opportunity presented itself.

Great location

  • 5 of 5

Lisa's loft is right near the T station and a great cafe/bar is a half block away. Parking spot is right nearby and a great benefit vs. parking on the street. Bob, her neighbor, handles renter logistics when Lisa is away (this is her principal home, not just a rental property, so you're sharing space in her closets/fridge etc.) and he graciously met us at the parking spot as we arrived, toured the house and offered information about the area.

Great Location

  • 3 of 5

The loft is as described, amenities wise. Great neighborhood, Close to the T, a good restaurant & cafe, Sam Adams Brewery, and a few other attractions within a reasonable walking distance. A private parking space is available so one doesn't have to park on the street. The neighbor was extremely helpful initially, then appropriately available. Lisa was also available as needed. The space appeared clean, however, much more cluttered with the owners personal things, and artwork with prices on the walls than the photos show. Her food and medicine were in the refrigerator/freezer which made for less space for our perishables. Her toiletries were in the shower and bathroom cabinet. We definitely felt like we were staying at someones home, so for me that was a uncomfortable. There was, as stated only basic cable, with 2 small TV's, one, older with a DVD player attached, the other newer in the upper loft with many DVD's. There is also a nice stackable washer & dryer, very convenient. The pull out couch does have the nicer mattress, however, its still a pull out so obviously not as comfortable as a thicker bed mattress. You are staying in a loft with thin walls, so you will hear the neighbors, for the most part that wasn't an issue. If you plan on cooking, as stated before, there wasn't a lot of room for perishables. There are appropriate pots and pans, knives, tableware, etc. however not much prep space, and not super organized. The microwave appears to be older and was hard to figure out how to use, really didn't heat up our leftovers. Stove, coffeemaker, tea kettle all worked worked fine, didn't use the dishwasher. Overall it was a convenient place to stay to explore the area.

Worth the value

  • 4 of 5

Exceptionally clean. Cool space. Solid Neighborhood. A bit off the beaten-path but still close enough. But, forgot how noisy loft-spaces can be especially when there’s a reasonably unruly child living next door - don’t except to sleep in. Notwithstanding, worth the value.

Great cozy place to stay on the artsy part of town.

  • 5 of 5

The place is great little location in an art field part of town. It is well located to the T train so downtown is just a short walk and train ride away. There is a great coffee shop and pizza joint just a couple blocks down the road. The place itself is just full of life and character. It has a very unique style which itself can keep you occupied and make you feel at home.
