Why Lisa Fliegel chose Boston

I love living in my home for its close proximity to public transportation. I love living in a community of artists with vibrant arts entertainment and varied ethnic restaurants close by. I love the light!

What makes this condo unique

The Arboretum and Jamaica Pond are urban treasures that balance city living with scenic nature preserves.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Lisa, Thanks so much for staying in touch with us. As you know, I

feel like I made a new friend when I rented from you. I love your home.

Kate and I felt so cozy and had such a good time. One rainy night we made

an awesome crab soup and just chilled. Kate slept upstairs and I pulled out

the sofa downstairs. Both were equally comfortable. We walked to several

great restaurants in Jamaica Plain, and downtown Boston was close and an

easy drive. Great to have a parking space at your condo. Got to the Museum

of Art twice. The bus lines and the T are all close by. City Feed was a

favorite for lunch. We also enjoyed a tour of the brewery. What can I say?

Jamaica Plain is just a wonderful place. Your neighbors were fabulous, the

arboretum was within walking distance (long walk along Jamaica Pond but we

had fun) and our week was perfect. I'm looking forward to staying with you

again.

Spacious Loft in Convenient Location

  • 4 of 5

We had a fantastic 3 night stay in the Artist's Loft. It was exactly as advertised, except the pull out couch was a bit uncomfortable. The metal bar that goes underneath the mattress creates a large bump. Otherwise, the loft had everything we needed and was only a short walk to the orange line. We were so close to downtown, yet we were in a quiet and more relaxed neighborhood. My two young children loved all the playgrounds in the area! I will never stay in a hotel again. Finding Lisa's loft on HA inspired me to find similar accommodations in the future. Lisa and her neighbor Bob were great to work with. Both communicated in a timely manner and made our stay seamless. My one critism is that when I emailed Lisa following my stay to say thanks and to check in on a few things, and she never responded. Perhaps an oversight, as communication was good up until that point.

Owner's Response: Alison! Thanks so much for you feedback. I apologize if you did not receive my email response. My email often gets sent to junk because it is so convoluted. (Sliegelart@mindspring.com). I actually had sent you an invitation to my book reading at the marble house project where I am currently a resident in Dorset Vermont. It sounds like its time to get a new mattress for the sofa bed! I am sorry for any discomfort and will purchase that immediately. Thanks for the helpful feedback and I loved having you! Lisa

Home Away From Home!!

  • 5 of 5

Walking thru the front door of this Vrbo, my sisters and I felt comfortable immediately. The photos on website are accurate and display its airy, bright layout. Close to the T, shopping and restaurants, it's proximity to Boston's Best Sights, this condo is a WINNER, and we'd recommend it highly to other Boston visitors ! We can't say enough about Lisa, the owner, who accommodated our every need and we look forward to staying in this great condo again!

Close to metro and Roomy

  • 3 of 5

This apartment was close to a metro and was very roomy, but it was not suitable for us. The bed upstairs was against the wall; the floor underneath was unfinished and there were things stored under the bed so we could not move the bed out. We had to climb over each other to get up in the night to use the facilities. The cable is extremely limited. I did not find any of the channels I normally associate with cable TV, even basic cable. We were there for a baseball game and were disappointed we couldn't watch any of the other games on TV. Normally, anywhere you stay in Red Sox territory the games are shown on TV. There was no hair dryer. There was plenty of hot water and good water pressure, which we appreciated. We didn't find a lot to do in the neighborhood, but we did enjoy the Samuel Adams Brewery tour, which was very close. The neighbors were nice.

Owner's Response: I have moved the bed and Purchased a Hair drier for renters! Iwelcome renters feedback as it is important to us to provide the best possible experience to our renters. I have purchased a brand new hair drier for the property for guests. The house lists basic cable and that is one of the things that keeps the cost of the rental low. If someone is coming and has a particular program they wish to watch I can check ahead of time to see if I have that channel. As for the bed it has never been a problem for the multitudes of guests I've had in the past so I did not even consider this. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. My house manager and I will be more clear that renters should notify us in real time regarding problems such as these so that we can re mediate the problems in Real Time. I pay an on-site manager so that my guests will have someone to address these issues. As for the what to do in Jamaica Plain I will better organize the multitude of neighborhood guides so folks can see the quick and pleasurable offerings of Center Street and surrounding Arts and Entertainment options. I suppose that clear communication with guests is key! As all these issues had never come up before- we can be more attuned to them in the future. Thank you!
