Unique, picturesque, peaceful, seaside, artisan.....some of the words used to describe Victoria by the Sea, Prince Edward Island where our Starfish Beach House is located. Sitting next to the historic Victoria lighthouse The Starfish offers 5 acres of privacy, yet a leisurely stroll down our lane finds you right in the heart of the village where you can enjoy all it has to offer.
Our beach house is in a great central location for you to explore the island on your vacation or if you prefer to just kick back and enjoy all the village and the south shore has to offer you could spend your whole time relaxing close to home. You will wake up every morning looking at the water and then come downstairs to magnificent views while you eat breakfast and plan your day.
We like to spend a couple of weeks staying at our beach house every summer. It's hard to resist the slow pace the village has to offer yet there is always something to do. The public beach to the left of the wharf is a great place to spend an afternoon listening to the sounds of the kids wharf jumping. There are public washrooms to the right of the parking lot and lots of choices for food just a stroll away. If the sun gets too hot it's easy to take a break and spend some time browsing the shops. We never let summer get away without spending some time (a few times) sitting on the deck of Island Chocolates sipping our lattes and eating a few chocolates.
Keywords: Beach house, privately located, 4.5 acres, adjacent to historic lighthouse, local artisans, unique village.

About Connie Griffin
This is our only rental property and like to stay here ourselves. We currently live in an old farmhouse in the community of Cornwall which is 20 minutes away. We have been there for 28 years. Steve fishes lobster on the north shore of the island and Connie makes Sterling silver jewelry which she sells locally or in her etsy shop. The satisfaction of our guests is very important to us. We believe vacations are good for the soul and everyone should have an enjoyable one.
Connie Griffin purchased this House in 2003
Why Connie Griffin chose Victoria
Having worked and played in the village for decades we felt lucky to get the opportunity to put a vacation home here.
What makes this House unique
The Starfish has wonderful views from its windows and is bright and clean. It is unique in that it is located in the village but privately situated. There are lots of things to do in the village like live theatre, kayak rentals, a chocolate factory, at least 3 nice restaurants to choose from, a candy store, a jewelry shop, an antique store, a seafood store and even a post office (to mail your postcard home) which also houses a nice craft shop to browse.

Incredible Views, Amazing Local Food, Peaceful & Relaxing Vacation
This cottage blew us away!! From the moment we drove up the lane way and saw the view, we knew this was going to be a great place. The Star Fish Beach House is spectacular! It is clean and very bright, with great wifi and amazing bed sheets. The view from every window left us speechless and never got tiresome. There is a cut path in the grass with beautiful wild flowers on either side as you make your way down to your own private beach. Our kids would spend hours daily down by the water collecting Hermit crabs, shells and Crayfish when the tide would go out.
Connie, the owner is very friendly, and helpful. She responds right away by text if you may have any questions about her place or any questions about PEI in general.
At the end of the driveway is a village that has amazing shops. My husband would go every morning for a coffee at Island Chocolates and relax on their porch. There is a great candle maker in the village who creates customized candles using the beautiful local red sand. The Lobster Barn restaurant is a must for dinner or lunch. Be sure to make a reservation for dinner as it gets busy. Back Home Antiques, in Crapaud is a great place. The owners are so friendly, we really enjoyed talking with them. There is also a local Restaurant called Anna's on the way into Victoria by the Sea, which has amazing breakfast.
We travelled to Cavendish Beach, Anne of Green Gables, North Rustico, Summerside and Charlottetown, all of which were not far from the cottage at all.
Our trip was incredible and staying at the Star Fish Beach House couldn't be anymore perfect. If your looking for a peaceful, relaxing property, with a quaint Village right at your fingertips, this is the place for you! We can't wait to come back.
I don't want to give away this secret!
We had a wonderful time here! The cottage was immaculate and the views were something not to tire of. Connie was extremely helpful if we needed it but we also felt like we had the appropriate amount of space as renters - that is, we only heard from her when I had a question about recycling and she responded immediately and enthusiastically. The cottage itself feels very private, but yet it is only about a 2-minute walk to the wharf. The best of both worlds. If you want a glass of wine or an ice cream cone, Victoria-by-the-Sea has it. If you need milk or toilet paper - pick it up before you arrive in this funky little outpost! Loved it!!
Nice quiet getaway
We had a wonderful time--very restful and quiet at the Starfish beach house. The home was spacious and clean and a great place to stay to explore PEI. Our host was accessible when we had questions and very helpful.
Great place to stay
We had a wonderful stay at Starfish Beach House with our adult children and two infant grandchildren. Lovely, well maintained cottage situated right in the delightful village of Victoria. Beautiful water views from the cottage. We love the place.
The cottage was exactly as I remembered it. The setting is beautiful ,the village wonderful to explore and the food at the wharf magnificent.
A beautiful cottage in a great location. Wonderful host as well. Happily answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.
We are located in the artisan village of Victoria by the Sea. Take a stroll to find fine dining or good pub food, Island Chocolate Factory, By the Sea Kayaking, candy store, Victoria's Glass Studio and craft shops. Victoria has an operating fishing wharf where you can spend time watching the boats come and go, buy some fish to cook up at our beach house, or launch your own pleasure craft. If you have older kids they will most likely want to spend time wharf jumping as it is a favorite pastime on a hot summer day in Victoria. And you don't have to be a kid to take the plunge!! On Saturdays from 11 am to 2 pm we have our own farmers' market located right on our property next to the Victoria lighthouse where you can buy local organic vegetables, pickles, jams and local handcrafts. You can visit the Victoria by the Sea website to find more. Find it at www.victoriabythesea.ca
