Overview

About the property

Apartment, Studio + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bathroom, (Sleeps 2-4)

The apartment is part of a recently built (2011) guest house which is made in wood with solar panels, photovoltaic panels and it is designed to be as eco-friendly as possible. our guesthouse is certified as 5 stars guesthouse by the Ligurian region.

It is located in Framura, a small village so close to the famous Cinque Terre that it can be considered the sixth one. Here you will have the possibility to eat outside if you like, to sunbath or to enjoy the fresh water of the stream nearby.

The property is surrounded by fields, vineyards, olive and cherry trees.

We produce…with organic-love: olive oil, white and red wine, vegetables and the famous honey from Liguria.

Here, in Framura, you can find signs of many different ages from the roman one to the medieval one and of course the modern one. the centre of the village is wonderful, with its small lanes, hidden gardens and terraces overlooking the sea. Furthermore in this beautiful location, you will find small and traditional food shops that sell all the typical local products. In the central Piazzetta there is a nice quiet bar where in the evening the inhabitants use to relax having a glass of wine and chatting while children play nearby. In summertime you will also able to enjoy the beautiful and unspoiled sea of Framura sunbathing on its beautiful beaches or taking part to one of the boat trips which departing from the small, romantic port of the village reach the most hidden and amazing places of the coast. On the 10th of August here takes place one of the typical local fest to celebrate the night of San Lorenzo and people use to meet in the streets and squares to eat together and dance;during another fest people at midnight light a great number of small candles and set them out into the sea. To watch them floating away is really impressive. Many open air markets are held every day in this area. Additionally nearby there is the famous National Park of Cinque Terre where you will find many breathtaking paths and some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy. Moreover by boat or by train you can easily reach Portofino, Portovenere, Chiavari, Sestri Levante, Santa Margherita Ligure and Genoa with its museums, the famous aquarium, some UNESCO world heritage sites and a well known Opera House as well as the most fashionable shops. From here it will take just about two hours by train to reach Florence, Pisa, and less than an hour to reach Sarzana, a beautiful medieval town.

By car you can also visit the beautiful Vara Valley famous for its nature and the effort made by its inhabitants to preserve it, in fact Varese Ligure was the first town in Europe to be considered ecological.

About Giulia Erluison

I am 53 years old and I live in a beautiful small village in Liguria called Framura, next to Cinque Terre, with my husband Guido, my daughter Giulia andour 3 dogs. About 12 years ago we built our house here and I decided to leave my job and start a new life keeping more in touch with nature. Nowadays we grow vegetables and we make honey, wine, and olive oil in a peaceful and unspoiled envairoment, with a particular attention to preserve our tradition. We have also built a completely ecologic guest-house to host people who loves sea and sun and choose a relaxing holiday in this wonderful area.

Giulia Erluison purchased this apartment in 1940

Why Giulia Erluison chose Cinque Terre Area

I had inherited this property by my grandparents and my husband and I built here our own house in 2001 when we decied to leave the town where I was born to raise our daughter in a more peaceful and uspoiled environment. five years ago we started building our new guesthouse, which is now finished, becuse we wanted to share the peace of this beautiful place with other people and we have chosen to build a house in wood, with solar and photovoltaic pannels so as to respect nature as much as possible. I absolutely love living here in fact this place is remotless from the crowds as well as easy to reach and walking around in the village it is still possible to fell the traditional italian welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

We Loved Our Stay Here!

  • 5 of 5

Peace and quiet yet so close to Cinque Terra. Our farm stay with Lille was above expections. Our room was charming and Lille is such a wonderful person. She will answer all your questions. She speaks English. If you like to hike or bike, there is a one-of-a-kind tunnel that begins in Frumura and continues for miles along the coast. It's flat, no hills to climb. We took the train to the villages of Cinque Terra and paid 13 Euros for the entire day, exploring at our leisure. Would come back to her farm again on any future trip.

High expectations exceeded!

  • 5 of 5

I read the reviews posted by others, so I knew before getting to Framura that this was going to be good; it was great. Lilia was so nice and inviting in her responses to my inquiries. She and Quido are so nice. The farm and the apartments are lovely. The apartment, one of six in a separate building from the farmhouse, is spacious, modern and very large. It would be fine for an extended stay. The hilly terrain is beautiful. Since we did not have a car, my only concern was about getting to the trains and back. Just as they said, they were happy to drop us off and arrange pickups. A few times they drove us to a village called Costa and we walked down to the train station or bike trail in Framura. This was a wonderful downhill walk that takes about 40 minutes and is very scenic. After travels to the Cinque Terre or Portofino, we would take the train back to Deiva Marina and call them. They would pick us up a local bar (Bar Serena), where we came to feel like regulars. Don't pass up the opportunity to have Lilia cook for you. The entrees she prepared were the equal of a fine restaurants. After full days of activity touring, hiking or biking, returning to the farm and apartment was perfect. What a nice counterpoint to the crowded Cinque Terre and the hustle-bustle of Rome and Florence. Lilia and Quido, thank you for your hospitality and a memorable stay in Framura. We wish you continued success with this fine example of agro-tourism.

Incredible week in a beautiful property ..Amazing

  • 5 of 5

This excellent property is like a B&B without the breakfast. The kitchen is well equipped to cook your own! The hosts speak English and are extremely hospitable. Upon arrival we had a canister of coffee, delicious focaccia, fresh vegetables and some spices, home-made honey and jam. They go out of their way to make your stay incredible. The room has everything you need for comfort and the outside has plenty of spots to relax after your day of activity. The area is beautiful, away from the tourist crowds, and welcomes you home. We drove to Devia Marina to take the train to Cinque Terre, easy parking and good grocery shopping. We also had fun in the small market (walkable) in Castagnola, the darling village of Setta, and the beach at Bonassola. So much to do in close proximity. If you have any reservations about choosing this property. There is absolutely no reason to be concerned.

Perfect Honeymoon Stay!

  • 5 of 5

I don’t even know where to begin. My new husband and I spent half of our honeymoon split between two of Lilia and Guido’s properties along the Italian coast. Our relationship with Lilia began about 9 months prior to our visit: she was an absolute pleasure to work with and, though we decided to book right away, she graciously provided guidance throughout the months leading up to our stay. Upon our arrival, it was immediately clear that we had made the right decision. The accommodations were beautiful and comfortable, and the location could not have been more picturesque. We didn’t take advantage of Lilia’s homemade meals, but were treated to pesto, homegrown veggies and honey from their farm. Lilia, Guido and Guilia were such generous hosts—full of helpful information, always willing to lend a hand or offer a ride, and were simply a pleasure to spend time with. We loved the close proximity to the Cinque Terre, but found that we enjoyed the surrounding areas very much, too! We found ourselves very emotional to be leaving on our final day, but are sure we will find ourselves in Italy AND staying with Lilia again one day! Be sure to consider their Portofino property, too—you won’t be disappointed!

Framura fun

  • 5 of 5

Buon Giorno - Lilia, Guido and Guilia. Finally getting around to sending in a review for you. We absolutely loved staying at your place. The view from our window in Altamura was breathtaking. The sea and alps...cool. Your family is so kind and accommodating. Thanks for all those rides down to the village. Loved the ravioli with that wonderful nutty sauce. We still haven't drank the wine we brought back. Waiting for a special occasion. Loved staying away from the crowds in the Cinque Terre. Your place was perfect. Tell Guido to be careful with those bees. Can't wait to come back. My kids thought it was great too. Joel and Cindy

A beautiful place to escape to

  • 5 of 5

Lillia and Guido have a beautiful small farm on the side of the mountains overlooking the Ligurian Sea.The guest house is very modern, well-equipped, and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and beautifully tended by Guido. The estate wines are both inexpensive and delicious, as was their local honey. The view, the climate, and the environment are picture perfect.

Framura is not only a town, but a but a collection of small (and very interesting) villages. The apartment is located 800 meters from Castagnola (400 meters along SP 41, and a 400 meter climb up switchbacks). The bar is 400 meters on the other side of the town. The town has one small grocery that has what you need and one small butcher shop. (Both shopkeepers are delightful people who do not speak English. Limited Italian on our part worked fine.)

If you're a hiker, this area is heavenly. Beautiful walks in rustic countryside without much traffic, and just the occasional bicyclist. For more sightseeing, Guido or Lillia will drive you to Deiva Marina, where you can catch the train south to the Cinque Terra towns (we went to Vernazza for a day), or north to Sestre Levante, a beautiful beach town for Italian tourists with nightlife and fine restaurants, or farther north to Chiavari, a lively town with a wonderful market, beautiful tromp-l'oeil architecture, and good restaurants. Lillia offered to take us to Portofino, and we eagerly went. It's a beautiful cove off the Mediterranean sea where luxury yachts harbor. We hiked up the point to the lighthouse for incredible views.

On another day, Guido took us part way to the coast and we hiked the paved walking trail from Costa to Anzo-Setta, where we had dinner.

Lillia and Guido love the land and the people of Liguria. Their guesthouse is an enjoyable and comfortable way to see the historic and living Liguria away from the tourist-oriented developed Cinque Terra towns. This is an area that has not been over-developed and has retained its sense of place and time. Lillia and Guido are delightful hosts who make their guests feel welcome and well-treated.

Sunsets with a glass of Guido's wine, some local pecorino, bread and Ligurian honey are a treasured experience.

We loved NOT being tourists in Liguria. The farinata, walnut flour cake, and the pesto linguine at Osteria Luchen(Via Bighetti, 53) in Chiavari, are worth the trip! Don't miss a stop at Panarello at Via Martiri della Liberazione, 55.

Our love to Lillia, Guido, and Giulia!
