Clean, comfortable private corner unit with a fully remodeled kitchen and bath. New for the 2016-17 season. High efficiency split unit A/C is extremely quiet and provides a quick cool down when needed. About the best balcony in the complex with enough activity for entertainment and quiet for your enjoyment. Famous Sapphire Beach is a 1500 foot stroll while the larger of two fresh water pools and the restaurant are within 150 feet of your door. Family owned and operated for forty years. Wired phone, cable, and private WiFi included as well as beach chairs, snorkel gear, and outing Playmate cooler.

About Tom

My husband and I purchased this condo in the pre-construction phase in 1970. We used it as our getaway and I still use it yearly. My son Tom manages it for me and he also manages a 1-bedroom unit about 60 feet away that he co-owns with two more of my children.

Why Tom chose East End

My late brother settled in St. Thomas in 1958 after "discovering" the island while serving in the US Navy Submarine force a few years prior. Along with other island careers he became a successful real estate agent and convinced my late husband and I that this property and especially the corner location on the water was 2nd to none.

Saba 112 was the perfect studio for our vacation to St. Thomas, just the right size for the two of us to enjoy 8 days on the island. It was very clean, could tell the bath & kitchen were recently updated as well as the a/c. Really didn’t need a/c much other than to cool the studio down a bit after it had been closed up all day while out and about. Having both the balcony and front door open created a nice cross breeze and provided natural air flow. The kitchen was stocked well with pots/pans, dishes/cups/glasses/utensils/spices. We did a little grocery shopping at nearby Red Hook and were able to cook in at much/little as we wanted. The studio also had everything needed to make a day at the beach easy breezy, towels/chairs/coolers/koozies/snorkel gear, etc. We had a rental so it was also easy to throw all that into the vehicle and take off to explore other beaches on the island as well.

The view from the balcony at the Studio was absolutely amazing, beautifully tropical. We enjoyed starting and ending each day on it, having the marina right there made for cheap entertainment watching all the different boats coming and going. We weren’t sure if having the marina right there would affect our privacy, but it didn’t at all. There was a tall hedge at the closest edge of the dock to us which gave just enough division/privacy for the docks and the studio. My husband even went down and helped a sailor hank a jib, I think one of the highlights for him.

As I mentioned Red Hook was just down the road, provided entertainment, shopping and the ferry to St. John. For us being on the opposite end of the island from the airport and cruise ship dock was a good thing, a little less busy.

Then there was the VRBO owner, Tom Brokamp. This was our first VRBO experience and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. He responded within in 15 minutes of sending the initial email and had a phone call within an hour. We could tell from visiting with him that he knew a lot about the island, had a passion for it and through the whole process he was so helpful. He provided us with information on the island what to do/not to do or go, arranging our car rental with Harold, providing directions to get the Village, which by the way had gated security and checking in/out instructions. The day we arrived we even got a quick phone call to make sure we had arrived and everything in the studio was good. No surprises!

Notes:
When available this unit is frequently rented in together with our 1-bedroom unit at the near end of the neighboring building Dominica. VRBO# 266926. It's far enough away that you won't be bumping in to your travel mates but close enough that you can wave to them during cocktail hour on the balcony. As our guest I also offer over 40 years of local experience and planning assistance as well as customized maps and personal restaurant guides.

Exceeded every expectation.

We had only visited St Thomas once before on cruise. We knew we had to return and so began our quest. After many hours of looking on VRBO, HomeAway, etc. Tom's place at Sapphire was our choice. It is perfect. Clean, centrally located, restaurant on property and the veranda overlooking the marina was such a treat. Coffee every morning and a walk to the beach! Perfect for two looking for laid back vacation. The Safari taxis were always available and we took the ferry to St John multiple times. So easy and so much fun. Don't hesitate to stay with Tom. He is available, helpful and his property is gorgeous!

Excellent condo for two.

Toms condo has all u could ask for. Comfortable bed, great shower, super view of marina and St. Johns. If u all want to try something different do the Foodie Tour in town. Great local dishes and nice history lesson on St. Thomas. Sundays at ABI beach is a great time with local music. I dont remember the ride back. Lol Beachs in St. John are awesome. Have fun and enjoy Toms place.

Great Studio overlooking Sapphire Beach Marina

My husband and I stayed at this cute studio condo at Sapphire Beach just a couple of weeks ago. Tom was very easy to deal with and a great communicator! Everything was exactly as described online. You don't need anything except your suitcase (stuffed with swimsuits and shorts) and maybe a little bit of food and some libations!! The kitchen has everything you need. The location is great - close to Red Hook and the ferry to St. John. The week just went too quickly - stay as long as you can...... St. Thomas is laid back and very relaxing. Tom's condo is a good place for your home base while you are there!!!

Great trip!!!

We were taking are first vacation together post baby and this place had everything we needed. Tom was very informative and was there every step of the way to answer questions and give updates on new restaurants since our last visit. We'll definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Place!

My husband and I spent 8 nights/7 days at this beautiful studio condo last week. It is in a great location, the views are gorgeous, and it is very easy to get to Red Hook and take the ferry to St. John. (If you're interested.) It is a short and easy walk to beautiful Sapphire Beach. There is snorkeling equipment and beach gear at the condo.

The condo was perfect for the two of us. It was convenient to cook small meals in the kitchen. The balcony was great. We spent time looking out over the marina and ocean. Saw people parasailing, cruise ships traveling past to get to port, and watched the charters come and go with vacationers heading out to other islands or fishing. There is a restaurant/bar directly across from this condo in the next building up, and we had great meals there. Service was very good and prices reasonable. The locals were friendly and helpful with any questions we had about the area.

Tom was fantastic to work with! He was prompt with answering any questions we had, he provided maps of the island, and details on getting to the condo from the airport. Very helpful! He would respond to my emails within a couple hours, if not sooner.

We definitely recommend this location to anyone interested in spending time in beautiful St. Thomas.

Just 1 mile east is Red Hook where you can board the hourly ferry for the 20 minute ride to Cruz Bay, St John. Red Hook has numerous shops, bars, restaurants, a small market and dozens of marine and tourist related vendors.

Tutu, a major commercial area, is about 5 miles to the west of Sapphire. Here you can find K-Mart, Home Depot, Price Smart, Cost-U-Less and major grocery markets.

Charlotte Amalie which most refer to to simply as 'Town' is about 8 miles to the west of Sapphire. This famous shopping district sells most anything from t-shirts to solid gold Rolex watches. Key-chains to exotic perfume. Shopping is not the only reason to go. The streets and alleyways hold hundreds of years of architectural beauty and history.
