Historic West Adams Home
Fully emancipated... children grown and on their own. So, I travel extensively professionally and personally. CEO of a US energy services firm. Over 60, act like I'm 30 and having a great time.
owner/manager purchased this House in 1980
Why owner/manager chose South Los Angeles
THIS IS A BIG HOUSE.. BUT IT IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE.. NO WEDDIN SHOWERS, GRADUATIONS, OPEN HOUSES, FILMING, ETC. ALLOWED. This property is for families. It is really a great -- ethnically diverse neighborhood- and very close to most places you want to visit. I chose this neighborhood because the homes were large, sturdy, nice features, and reminded me of my NY home. .. not a typical LA ranch style house.
What makes this House unique
I love the house because it offers a lot of living spaces, each with different personalities

House with lots of character
We had a great time staying in this grand old house - it looks and feels every bit as good as in the pictures. Ron, the caretaker/manager lives on site and is incredibly helpful and accommodating. We loved the pool table!
Beautiful historic home.... very welcoming feel!
The property is Beautiful! Gorgeous historic home - beautiful woodwork - lots of character in a great, historic neighborhood. Ten minutes from USC! Denise is a very personable, gracious owner and responds quickly. She provides LOTS of valuable, interesting info on the surrounding neighborhood and LA in general. We met Ron (her property mgr.) and he is delightful! So nice and available to answer questions. All in all, a 5-star visit and a place we would be lucky to stay at again!
Kathryn... thank you for leaving my house sooooo spotless!!! Impeccable. The best ever. And even moreso, you left a joyful spirit.. great Karma in the house. I even appreciated that you toured some of our neighborhood treasures.
Im sorry we didn't meet.
Come back anytime when you visit with your new USC student.
We had a fabulous stay.
What a beautiful and gracious family. Come back anytime!
Minnesotan's in LA
Our family had a wonderful time during our stay in Los Angeles. The house was clean and the description was fairly accurate to the website. Ronald was wonderful with everything. It was very reassuring having someone on site that can answer question regarding the area. It was centrally located to all of the attractions/sites we visited. Even with traffic we were only about a 1/2 hour away to almost everything.
Thank you so much for letting us stay in your house while we toured the Los Angeles area!
Beautiful Historic Home
This home was the perfect location close to the USC campus as we were attending all the graduation events and commencement. It was easy to find and near to many attractions. The home was large enough for five individuals and allowed us to each have our own space. An added bonus was the backyard which included a fish pond, fountain, a lemon tree, and several sitting areas. Although we did not meet Denise, she was a very gracious host allowing us to add an extra night to our reservation. Ron gave us a tour of the home when we arrived and was always available when we had questions. We enjoyed staying at this home and would recommend it to others who need a roomy place close to USC.
Thank you for your kind review. Nothing makes me happier than a satisfied guest. I read your comments in my guest book and It sounds like the graduation festivities were fab. Come back anytime! You were great guests.
Historic West Adams Home
The city Los Angeles and the West Adams Home combined for a truly wonderful vacation. From the time we arrived Ron made sure that everything was perfect. He was a pure delight and the home was beautifully maintained. The neighborhood only added to its charm. I would highly recommend this property. My family and I look forward to our next stay in Los Angeles. Thank Denise and Ron.
We enjoyed having you and your family. come back anytime!
The house is in a ethnically diverse, urban and historic neighborhood near downtown LA, the convention center and USC. It is centrally located to major tourist attractions..West LA, Beverly HIlls, the Beaches, Hollywood, etc. and is two blocks from the freeway.
HOWEVER, IF YOU WANT TO WALK TO BARS, COFFEE SHOPS, RESTAURANTS AND FIT INTO THE LA ACTIVE LIFE, THIS IS NOT THAT PLACE. This is a residential area and you have to drive.. although not far.. to get access to basic services. Younger folks might prefer Hollywood or other more active neighborhoods.
At the same time, this is not the "suburbs', so you must expect urban amenities.
West Adams is a subdivision developed around 1890-1900. Large, charming houses and lots of history.
Details on the neighborhood and nearby tourist attractions will be provided when you book and a detailed house manual awaits you in the home.
