Anjie has lived in the Boston area for over 20 years and adores Cape Cod: 'the Cape has a different essence to it' she says, 'the place is more laid back and people are friendlier, and more in a holiday mood. I love it here!' Anjie particularly likes Hyannis, 'you have the best of all worlds' she says. 'I would hate to drive 35 minutes to browse at the mall or have dinner at a choice of restaurants. In Hyannis, I can go to the beach and feel away from it all and at the same time have the convenience of all that an urban town center has to offer me -- especially with the price of gas these days!'
Location, location, location -- close to everything -- especially important with the price of gas these days
Walk down to the harbor early morning and enjoy a cup of coffee and a cupcake. Have lunch at Spanky's with a table right next to the water. Walk down to the beach for a lazy day and don't bother taking the car out. Bike down to Main St (we provide 2 bikes) and enjoy browsing in the stores and eating at posh or simple pizza joints. All of these facilities and more and yet you feel in the middle of nowhere with all the green, serrenity and privacy of the backyard.
The description for this property starts with the phrase
“Yes, you can have it all…” This is not hyperbole.
This is a tremendous property in a genuinely pristine area close to all of the essential areas of Hyannis- the beach, the Hyline Ferry for day trips to the Vineyard or Nantucket, innumerable eating spots on Sea Street, Main Street and Ocean Avenue.
The owners provided an excellent, warm introduction to the property and the area. The house location is not heavily trafficked, and the house sits back from the street. The entire home is air conditioned, however there was an excellent breeze constantly cooling the oversized deck and backyard.
The house has two large bedrooms on the second floor with comfortable queen sized platform beds. There was more than ample closet space and bureaus. There are full bathrooms on both of the main floors. The kitchen is modern with all the desirable amenities. Glasses, utensils and microwaves were available and in good working order. The owners have a great library on site. We did not use the bikes on site, but they were available as was the charcoal grill. We used this
centrally located home to explore all parts of the cape with ease, and take a day trip to the Vineyard.
The owners were professional in their interaction with us and gave us their contact information during our stay in case anything came up (we did not need to contact them). The basement has a ping-pong table and other table top games which came in handy on a rainy day. A full sized washer and dryer and is in the basement.
We enjoyed our week's stay very much. The owners met us upon arrival and took as much time as we needed to feel settled. The house is well maintained and is in a great location. The beaches are anywhere from less than 10 minutes walking away....or about 15 minutes for what we felt was the nicest beach. Parking is available at all beaches though a charge per day. Plenty of games available in the basement such as ping pong. Full washer and dryer to keep up with any needs during stay. Hyannis worked out extremely well for central location to visit other spots on the Cape. Harbor is close by - ferry to the islands very convenient.
Our family gathered at the house from Florida, Ohio, and Connecticut. We found the home to be beautifully furnished and very neat and clean...We were met by the owners who showed us all around the home and we loved that they were so proud of their home.
We loved that there was such a short walk to the beaches. We went every day. Some of our party did the walk to downtown Hyannis, but most of us were just a little too lazy. We had 2 little ones with us and they loved playing in the back yard with the toys that were left there.
If we decide to do another Cape Cod trip, we would definitely try to stay at this house. Some friends visited us while we were there and they were very impressed with the house also.
My family and I like to stay in Hyannis every year because we like to be close to everything – but it’s rare to get into the Hyannis beach area where you have the sense of privacy and wonderful ocean breezes that this house has. You really do feel away from it all. We loved just sitting on the deck and gazing out --- listening to the birds and wildlife first thing in the morning. I think this location is fab – you can have the best of both worlds for all members of the party. The outdoor shower is heavenly with hot and cold water and perfect after a day at the beach. The beaches are very close by and we liked the fact that we had choices – it’s the same stretch of coast – but each beach has its own feel. The house is a traditional cape and cozy and I liked the way it was decorated. There are plenty of towels and linen available and we used the washer and dryer a few times and they worked well. The owners are friendly and easy to reach and they gave us a personal tour of the place before we settled in which was very helpful. All in all we had a wonderful time and it was just so great to get away. I really recommend a cape vacation and particularly this house and location.
We stayed here last summer, and especially liked the organization of the house where there are two bedrooms on the first floor – great for parents or children and very separate from the two bedrooms upstairs where my husband and I and his sister and her husband were sleeping. It was like being in two apartments in the same house – together and yet apart. The garden is beautiful and we spent a lot of time sitting outside on the deck and taking in the cool breeze. We also walked to the beach a lot and enjoyed the July 4 fireworks on Veterans Beach which were spectacular! We just walked down and everyone else had to park their cars and then were stuck in a traffic jam afterwards while we casually walked back to the house! I felt like putting a sign outside saying: “if you lived here you’d be home by now!” There were plenty of linens and fresh towels for our use, and my kids really enjoyed all the board games in the basement – the kinds of things we don’t normally get to do together ‘cos we’re too busy in our normal lives. My husband and kids played a lot of ping pong and I loved the air hockey which is my absolutely favorite game. All in all you can’t go wrong if you choose this house and location – it really is very special to be so close to everything and yet have the privacy.
Our property is private and green but very central to all the attractions. Main St is a walk or bike away!
