We are 4 retired professionals on a weeks visit to DC. Very clean and fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

Home is very well furnished. Kitchen is very well stocked with all the basics. The fresh coffee bean grinder was a nice touch. We did breakfast every day at the house but could have done dinner as well. Austen was a very attentive host and answered all our questions very promptly. Highly recommend this property.

Enjoy DC

  • 4 of 5

Great DC location. Short walk to Metro. Great to have nice bathrooms and kitchen for the week instead of just a hotel room.

Overall nice home

  • 4 of 5

Overall nice home. The house could use some updating (bathrooms, living room and dining room), but it did the job.

Pluses and Minuses

  • 3 of 5

This is my first time using VRBO and I will use it again. This is an ideal location. It was very easy to navigate to and from the subway. The concerns I had were of the property. We arrived early and interrupted the cleaning crew, however the crew does not clean completely. There was lots to trash and other junk in the sofa, plus dust and other debris under the television stand and under the furniture. This was a reflection of overlooked cleaning. Plus they did not leave toliet paper. After texting the host, i just purchased some at the neighborhood CVS. In addition, there was not adequate bedding for the sleeper sofa - we made do with a blanket we kept in the car. The backyard is beautifull but overgrown and cluttered with leaves and out of control vegetation. The pavers are unevenly laid so it makes walking difficult. I was a little concerned since I was traveling with my 84 year old mother. The missing window screen areas became a collection for lint, cobwebs and leaves. The blinds/window sills were spotted with fly poop and had not been dusted in awhileI. if you are going to be traveling with small children this may not be the place for you since the cleaning needs improvement.

I had a great time in DC but I will make certain I am more prepared with the incidentals when using VRBO the next time..

Comfortable Stay/Some Maintenance required

  • 3 of 5

Nice, older home with remodeled kitchen and an upper bathroom. House really only sleeps 6 - 7 comfortably on beds with one on a main level sofa. Plenty of supplies included for the kitchen and extra linens. Fairly quiet street of a mixed, up and coming area. Metro is not a bad walk of about 15 minutes, though I am not sure about walking back after dark. We found it easy enough and less stressful to drive to the sites each day. House needs some maintenance though; guests got locked in a bathroom and upper back sleeping area due to old, broken locks. Back deck and rear of house/windows was littered with dead branches, leaves and cobwebs. Nice backyard plantings, though decking is a tripping hazard with broken boards, exposed rusty screws, and broken umbrella(?). Also, walkway from back parking area to house is poorly lit and is a tripping hazard at night with exposed stone paver's. Was able to find nearby parking on the street most of the time. Would recommend property to others after issues are corrected. Overall owner somewhat responsive to issues that occurred during stay.

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Property was well kept and just as advertised. It was convenient to everything and all that we hoped for. The home was well stocked and clean upon arrival. Austin was very responsive to questions we had prior to and during our stay. My family would recommend staying here and will definitely stay again on our next trip to D.C.
