This renovated rowhouse, originally built in the 1920's, has a large European professional kitchen open to the living room. Many historic details have been preserved like the original hardwood floors and ornate metal ceilings.
It's a walkable neighborhood with restaurants, a weekend farmers' market, organic dairy/market, and coffee shops. It's closer-in than Capitol Hill, but quieter than Dupont, Logan, or Georgetown.

Ledroit Park is quiet, tree shaded enclave of Victorian mansions and stately town homes. It is designated historic district with wrote-iron lamp posts, brick sidewalks, granite curbs, and small manicured lawns.

Austin purchased this townhome in 2001
The house is ideal for groups who want to be in a walkable neighborhood, close to metro, near museums, but need parking for one or more vehicles.
More parking available than most downtown locations. You can walk to some trendy spots: Big Bear Cafe, Bistro Bohem, Zenebech Injera, Shaw Tavern, Beau Thai, Right Proper Brewing Co., etc.
Clean, in a very interesting and safe neighborhood, not far from the Mall and the Hill where I needed to go. Everything we could have needed.
Austin was awesome and very attentive!
We would rebook. Lovely place, nice amenities, great attention to details, and no fuss.
Pros: We booked this house as a home-base for my daughter's 30th birthday. A small group of family and friends meet in DC to celebrate. The house was spacious and had everything we needed (including private parking)! We loved the location and enjoyed neighborhood restaurants. Only a few minutes walk to the Shaw/Howard Metro. Cons: The flagstone pathway was difficult to navigate and the stairs to the upper level were rough on aging knees. I only mention this as a heads-up to anyone with mobility issues. Everything else was perfect!
Great space with everything you need. Close to the metro and several restaurants.
Really was happy with this VRBO stay. Residence was tucked away in nice, quiet neighborhood. The walk to the subway wasn't bad even with a 7 and 10 year old. While residence is old it had updated appliances and my kids loved the shower in the master bedroom. We would definitely stay here again!
