About the property

LOCATED IN THE VILLAGE OF ANNA MARIA! CANAL FRONT HEATED POOL HOME 3 BED 3 BATH

You and your family will love staying in this beautiful three-bedroom, three-bath home nestled on the banks of Lake LaVista, just one block north of Pine Avenue in the village of Anna Maria. Everything you're looking for in a vacation rental home is right here...a lovely view, a large heated pool, updated kitchen and bathrooms, lots of privacy, and super easy access to our Island attractions!

With over 2100 square feet of ground-floor living space, you'll have plenty of room to relax and enjoy your surroundings. The large dining room table is the perfect spot for family gatherings, and the expansive, well-equipped kitchen will make it easy for everyone to pitch in when it's time for meal preparation.

Two bedrooms and one bathroom are located down the hallway and can be closed off for additional privacy, while the master bedroom features a King Bed, an en suite bath, private patio area, and beautiful views over Lake LaVista.

Although every room in the house is beautifully decorated with coastal design, the prettiest part of this house is, without a doubt, the large backyard. Loads of windows and sliding glass doors provide a terrific view from most rooms, along with easy access to this inviting oasis. The large heated pool is child-friendly with a shallow area at both ends. And stretching the length of this extra-large property is Lake LaVista, a beautiful meandering waterway that leads out to Tampa Bay. The property has a boat lift that is available for use as well as a dock. Boaters, please keep in mind that the one fixed bridge between the house and Tampa Bay allows only a 7 foot clearance at high tide.

When you're ready for the beach, an easy walk or bike ride will take you to the Sand Bar Restaurant by the Gulf, or to the Historic Anna Maria City Pier near the Bay. You'll find shops and restaurants en route, along with the Anna Maria Community Theater and the Anna Maria Historical Society Museum, as well as fun street festivals several times a year. A stop for the free Island Trolley is just at the end of the street when you're ready for adventures a little further down the island!

Sleeps 8 in beds, but there's plenty of room if you'd like to have www.FunandMoreRentals.com bring in a couple of rollaway beds for the kids.

Why Edward G DeLosh Sr chose Anna Maria Island

Our location is absolutely wonderful; I can walk to the Gulf beaches at the Sand Bar, or over to the Historic City Pier in 5 or 7 minutes, with shops, restaurants, the theater, Post Office, and everything else in between, including a stop for the free trolley at the end of the road. And, of course, you can't beat the double-sized yard, big pool, and beautiful views over Lake LaVista.

What makes this house unique

Our canal is called 'Lake LaVista' because when early settlers came to the island in the late 1800's, it was really a lake, complete with a very large alligator! Developers a few decades later dredged an opening from Tampa Bay to the Lake by the Historic Anna Maria City Pier. The alligators, by the way, are long gone, but we see fabulous displays of nature, including the occasional manatee cruising by, as well as every imaginable island bird. As a matter of fact, the house is named for a great blue heron that we call 'Max,' and a white heron he named 'Denise.' Max and Denise are still frequent visitors to our home, along with Mavis & Madge, ducks who occasionally splash in our pool, and Winky & Moe, starfish who live by our seawall.

Loved the house!

  • 5 of 5

Great location for this house. We enjoyed the serene outdoor setting very much and the house had everything we needed. We enjoyed fishing from the dock when we had too much sun at the beach and pool. Very close to the local piers, The Donut Experiment and Two Scoops ice cream shop. One suggestion would be to add lighting to the dock area in case someone wants to fish in the evening. Otherwise, everything was wonderful with the house!

Frong and back!

  • 5 of 5

As you approach this one storey property from the front it is, frankly, fairly standard. Go inside and all that changes. It has masses of space, is superbly finished and has stunning light from huge glass section. Outside is as good maybe better. A huge pool, the biggest we have seen in 25 years visiting AMI. Lovely garden and then shingled area overlooking a wide part of the waterway, it's like having your own mini beach. Great location just North of Pine with easy walking access to several of the best restaurants. Loved it, thanks.

Perfect getaway

  • 4 of 5

The house met our family's needed perfectly. It's large, spacious, bright and very well decorated. It was well stocked with all the necessities. It's situated in a nice neighbourhood, with canal backdrop and close to the AMI village on Pine. It's 4 of 5 stars because it appears the street is experiencing some electrical surges, so in the evening lights would flicker and this also impacted the internet stability- but again we heard from neighbours who were also experiencing these challenges so we don't believe this is something the owners can address. We will be back.

Relaxing and Beautiful

  • 4 of 5

Our family had never been to the gulf coast before, and we were very impressed. We stayed at the end of August for a week and would come again. It was hot and rained once each day, but that's Florida in the summer. The house was centrally located-----3 blocks to the beach/shops and bay, the donut place has great coffee and Two Scoops had great ice cream. My son enjoyed seeing all the marine life off the dock each day, as well as birds and geckos. We had a white heron who visited us twice daily, my son named him Phil. The pool is very private with all of the lush foliage. We had a problem with the automatic vacuum and they sent the pool guy out right away. The house was very clean, comfy and well appointed. Beach towels, beach buggy, nets, chairs, sand toys, coolers, etc...Kitchen was well stocked and we even had starter d/w detergent, dish soap, paper towels, etc.... Plenty of bath towels, linens, etc...Neighborhood was quiet, beach was family friendly and peaceful which was just what we were looking for. Food store, pharmacy, etc...are about a 20 minute drive....not far but you need a car to get to them.

The only thing negative was the pocket doors in the bathrooms --they need to be replaced, a bit difficult to open and close.

Thank you for sharing your home, our stay was fantastic and we love AMI!
