About Lisa Epstein
We have owned a chalet just around the corner for many years. We know this area well and take great pride in maintaining this naturally beautiful landscape. We are environmentalists and animal lovers. Over the years, we've spotted many deer, a few fox, several owls, several beavers (and noticed quite a few trees missing along the lake) one baby moose, a few too many skunks and raccoon all over the area and it's always a thrill. Porcupines, wild birds, geese, ducks, hummingbirds, blue jays, red cardinals and others are frequent visitors.
Lisa Epstein purchased this Chalet in 2013
Why Lisa Epstein chose Magog
This property is the ultimate escape from the busy city. The clear starry nights will leave you in awe. The early morning sunrise over the calm lake will rejuvenate you. The absolute quiet will restore your senses. The cedars smell divine in every season.
What makes this Chalet unique
We bought this property because we wanted to protected the forest around it so we painstakingly renovated the existing structure to have as little carbon foot print as possible while creating a beautiful vacation spot for you to enjoy. If you enjoy the country, you'll love this chalet.

This house comes with Great Lake access and boats to go with it. The house is clean inside, but the rooms and bathroom are rather small as advertised. Property manager was very helpful with everything. Water cooler was appreciated. Definitely recommend it.
Family-friendly cottage in an excellent location
We spent a week here with our 2 young children and our dog, and had a wonderful time! The downsides have been mentioned in previous reviews... the bedrooms were even smaller than we expected, the beds are not super comfortable (though pretty standard for a cottage) and the shower is VERY tight, particularly if you are 6' or over. BUT, those things are more than made up for by an outstanding location right on the lake, a well-equipped space, and wonderful hosts. There is a huge yard (we set up a tent, played croquet, played soccer, let the kids and dog roam and had bonfires on a few nights), and also made great use of the small beach, dock, and variety of boats. The cove is quite sheltered so the water was often calmer than out in the more open part of the lake. It is very private and very quiet (particularly during the week). At the same time, it's only 10 minutes to Magog and all the amenities there. Lisa and David were extremely available, helpful and responsive both before and during our stay. The cottage is well equipped with anything you need for a stay. A great vacation was had by all!
Sheltered in the cedars
Wonderful fireplace with lots of wood. Comfortable, clean and close to several excellent amenities, spas and restaurants. Could use some mirrors in the bedrooms. Shower is small. Lots of hot water. Drinking water supplied. Great get away!
Authentic, Nostalgic, Pleasure.
- Warm shower in the outdoor stall, in the pouring September rain under towering, fragrant conifers.
- Spending a whole day on the dock playing with my 2 big dogs, watching the clouds billow over Mt Orford
- watching Canada Geese flock, listening to loons call, on Lac Mephamagog
- delighting in the hand-made, decades old, character of the chalet
- local food (cheese, venison, duck, rabbit, more cheese...) in the local grocery store.
Thanks so much Donna. We love that you loved your vacation in our chalet.
Really enjoyed our stay.
Very nice place , perfect location and great owners.
Thanks so much for choosing our chalet. We appreciate your patronage.
Property has long lawn and private lake front and dock. Shoreline is sheltered from the main lake.
We spent most of our time at the cottage waterfront and enjoyed the provided boats: kayak, sailboat, surf board and paddleboat. The lakefront scenery is beautiful and is very quiet. The cottage location is a good base for small day trips to some historical towns and scenic farm lands. The local town of Magog has a plenty of restaurants and shops to keep you occupied.
The cottage has fully working appliances and a large kitchen. The bedrooms are a tight fit but adequate for sleeping. The large family room has a nice view of the yard, and serves a good social hub.
Thanks Stuart. We're thrilled that you got great use of the property and the boats. It's a great country hide-away.
The chalet is situated on a beautiful shady wooded property offering a pristine natural environment for a relaxing lake house vacation while offering a diverse range of outdoor sports and activities. Magog has summer festivals like wine tasting and art tours in addition to the spectacular fall foliage festival.
