First class accommodations, very comfortable, clean, professionally decorated and landscaped with a modern kitchen and top of the line furnishings . Just my wife and I stayed at teh cottage and it was perfect for our needs. It would also fit four comfortably, but you are limited to one bathroom. It was great having a barbecue grill, bicycles, hot tub, and pool for our exclusive use.

It is a very private setting located in a quiet residential area. Nice view of the Intercoastal waterway from the private dock, also great for viewing a variety of local wild life. You can walk to the beach, but it would take about 10 minutes. Bicycles were handy for riding to the beach or exploring the local area. We had a wonderful time, if we get back to the area again, this will be our first choice for a place to stay!

Nicely updated in a unique setting

  • 4 of 5

Overall, we were very pleased with the rental. It was situated on a quiet, residential street with driveway parking. The house itself was updated with modern appliances and beautiful furnishings. It was clean and comfortable.

The real highlight of the house was the dock out back which sat on the bay. It was very relaxing to sit out there at night with a glass of wine and watch the boats go by as the dock lights changed colors. My son also went fishing right off the back a couple of mornings.

There was a pool available for use at the house next door but we didn't take advantage of it. We live in Florida and have a pool at home so it wasn't a big draw for us. Plus we felt a little uncomfortable with the set-up even though we were allowed to use it.

Some of the other positives and negatives about the rental:

Positive:

It was walking distance to the beach which was great because we didn't have to search for parking on the 4th of July. We saw a number of fireworks shows from our back dock which also saved parking hassles for us from parking hassles.

We loved that they provided nice big beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, and even a paddle ball set for the beach.

It was close to a lot of restaurants and not a bad drive to John's Pass. My son especially like the mini-donut place which we visited several times. Our other favorite restaurants were Crabby Bill's in Indian Rocks Beach and Frog's Pond in Treasure Island.

Negative:

It was a little dark and light switches were not easily accessible. It could use some additional lighting, especially since the furnishings are dark (very nice Tommy Bahama style).

It seemed a little overcrowded with furniture. There were only 3 of us so it was fine, but any more than 4 and it would have been crowded. Yes, you could technically sleep 6, but I think that's a stretch with only one bathroom. I think it would be more comfortable without the 2nd couch so you could move around the table more easily.

I think the air conditioner is on its last leg. It was very noisy and didn't cool the master bedroom very well. We called about it when we first arrived and a grumpy service guy came to look and said there was nothing he could do. Luckily, there was a ceiling fan in the room to help cool it.

It would have been nice to have instructions about how to use the TV remotes. The service guy who came out had to call his boss to help us work the TV.

We had a wonderful week and I would definitely recommend this place to others - just not for a big group.

A+ Experience!

  • 5 of 5

Everything was perfect on this trip.

We arrived to an immaculately clean house. Every nook and cranny was spotless. The home was bug free and we saw no evidence of any bugs whatsoever for our entire week long stay.

Although this is a smaller cottage, it didn't feel that way to us. Both bedrooms were quite adequate and comfortable.

The luscious plant growth and landscaping were amazing. The pool was fantastic. Yes it is right behind the neighbor's house, but they had all of their shades drawn and privacy was perfectly fine. I never once felt bad about using it with the family ... although we knew we had to be pretty quite so as to not bother them. I think bringing a boom box out there for some music would have been out of the question.

Fishing off the dock was great and with my own lures I managed to land a couple of nice Snook, Mangrove Snapper and two nice Redfish. Others caught Pinfish and Catfish with cut bait purchased at Walmart. They had 7 fishing rods by the side of the house for guest use, though I used my own fishing equipment.

When having guests over, parking will be an issue. There is room for only one car. So we had guests park behind the 7-11 up the street, and we ferried them back and forth with our own car.

Everything was perfect and we managed to see dolphins every night feeding. The seawall and docks were great to fish from. Keep the little ones far away from the seawall because a fall could be disastrous with all the barnacles and whatnot.

Overall I give this location a 9 out of 10. If I could have one request, it would be for the property to have more items like paper towels, toilet paper and garbage bags. The starter supplies are ok, but for the price of this house these items should not have to be purchased by guests. What a great trip and I can't wait to rent this house again in the future. One other thing - the water pressure in the bathroom sink is way too low. That should be fixed as well. Minor issues for an otherwise 100% perfect experience.

Best of Both Worlds

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here. It felt like home in no time and was very clean and welcoming on arrival. We loved the quiet waterfront "cottage feel" yet within a 10 min walk to the beach. We were most impressed with the landscaping and gorgeous tropical surroundings. It exceeded our expectations and we were very pleased to find beach chairs/umbrellas there and with the service of itripvacations. Everything went smoothly so we could enjoy a wonderful holiday.

This cottage is perfectly outfitted to make for a comfortable stay. The landscaping offers a great deal of shade so the inside stays cool. Quiet cul-de-sac. Short walk to Beach, grocery and drug store.

We will definitely return.
