About Françoise or Nick

I grew up in France where my first profession (ballerina) took me to different part of my country and Europe. Later I came to California where my children were born. During the 90's Nick and I lived both in Paris and Miami while he pursued his fashion photography career. When I first came to Miami I chose Coconut Grove as then it was the center of cultural activities and home of many artists.

Françoise or Nick purchased this house in 1984

Why Françoise or Nick chose Northeast Coconut Grove

This has been our home in this unique neighborhood for a long time. The children are gone and we would like to share it with guests on occasion allowing us to travel too.

What makes this house unique

Lots of character, authenticity yet close to everything in Miami.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Your house has been a wonderful experience for us. It has such a fantastic feeling and a real personality. It's so gorgeous!! We thank you for allowing us to rent it for our stay in Miami. If we visit this way again we will be back here if it's available.

We would also extend a warm offer if you ever do venture to the west of Australia to come for a surf and stay with us.

Love from the Aussie Yachties

Our home vintage 1923 features pickled original wood floors throughout , casement windows all around inviting the lushness in. It is located on a very quiet street (cul-de-sac) friendly to pedestrians. Enjoy relaxing and watching the sunset on the open front porch in total privacy, have breakfast in the screened porch surrounded by vegetation. The master bedroom bathes in shades of whites while the downstairs one plays a more exotic tune with african kuba cloth accent or read books in the third bedroom more traditionally appointed. TV sets are in both front and back part of the house. The village is minutes away with its many shops, restaurants, theaters as well as well maintained public tennis courts. It is a 5 minutes walk to Biscayne Bay, Kennedy park and the Fresh Market. A massage therapist for your pampering lives nearby.

The perfect Christmas get-away

  • 5 of 5

The positives: lovely landscape and privacy, a fully functional kitchen (I cooked a complete Christmas meal, and maybe 5 other dinners), bikes available to the renters, proximity to restaurants, the sailing center, etc. and the owners! (they are really, really helpful)

We loved our stay in CG. The only possible negative would be that the house might be difficult for an older person (bathroom gets slippery with open shower). I just say this bc my 80 year old mother in law was supposed to join us and did not. It was a bit of a relief... Once again, this was a TERRIFIC stay and we highly recommend this house.

Fantastic Bungalow with like family owners!

  • 5 of 5

Hidden Oasis in the heart of the grove is just a fantastic house to rent if your vacation, business, or in our case sailing regatta's take you to Coconut Grove. My racing crew and I have stayed at this lovely house for 4-5 weeks every winter since December 2001. That said, by now the owners are practically like family and I look forward to seeing them every fact we even exchange Christmas cards! The decor is hip and fresh and the setting is serene. What is even better is the location...all that CG has to offer is within a lovely walk...bring a bike and your range extends to even more Miami has to offer. There is little I look forward to more than returning to my temporary oasis in CG after a long day of racing to enjoy a cocktail on the patio then a short walk to dinner at Berries. As for the particulars the oasis is clean and the owners have always been responsive with any request...and yes I would recommend.

Marvellous, relaxing - the perfect Miami home.

  • 5 of 5

We are repeat visitors! This has become our go-to Miami home. Francoise and Nick are the most wonderful hosts; welcoming, gracious, helpful and lovely.

Nick and Francoise care very much about their beautiful home and it is a great privilege to be able to stay at such a beautifully appointed and meticulously clean home on a magnificent lot in the palm trees. The layout of the house is wonderful, there are different spaces that we tend to use at various times of day. Breakfast in the screened in side porch is a peaceful way to get your day started, drinks and snacks on the front porch is a nice way to wind down. It is nice that the bedrooms are in a different area than the living areas, early risers don’t disturb those who sleep in.

The location of the home is great if you enjoy peace and quite yet walking distance to the heart of the retail / commercial area of Coconut Grove. Monty’s is walking distance and there is easy driving access to the highways and airport. It is a quick drive for groceries too.

We highly recommend staying at Nick and Francoise’s although, once you’ve stayed, you’ll want it to be your own little secret!

Curacao Family of 3

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Nick and Francoise's beautiful home. Although I never got to meet Francoise she was still in contact via email and Nick was a charming and helpful host who went above and beyond.... Even taking me to the grocery store when we arrived.

They had everything set up to help our 2 year old settle in nicely and some great tips about where to eat and a lovely park we could walk to. Their home is well appointed and in a peaceful and beautiful area. We could walk into the relative hustle and bustle of Coconut Grove if we chose, or equally it wasn't far to drive to everything we wanted to visit while in Miami.

I would definitely recommend staying here and would happily stay if we visit Miami again.

Grove Perfection

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect residence and welcoming hosts. We had two couples and a single staying and we instantly felt at home and comfortable in a stylish, modern house that was amazingly, built in 1932. It was close to all amenities but in a quiet, tropical, neighbourly area.

Thanks for a great stay...

Owner's Response: You came from so far and we were sorry we could not have you for your entire stay in the Grove as previous bookings conflicted with your arrival, but we enjoyed finally having you in our home. Our old house circa 1923 likes to be appreciated! We look forward to meeting you again here or in Australia.

Great house. Very unique!

  • 4 of 5

The house is lovely, quiet, clean and charming. The location is great. I'd had given it 5 stars if it had a microwave, a decent sized TV and payments could be made via Paypal or credit card.
