Once you arrive you won't want to leave. Owners have thought of everything to make you comfortable in their home away from home.

The totally open concept kitchen and living room make it comfortable for everyone to share space and time - watch the huge TV together, play a game of cards, and either make snacks or warm up leftovers from the great Galveston eatery options or cook a full-course meal.

Each of the bedrooms has a queen bed and wall-mounted television and in the hallway you will find extra long bunk beds for the wee ones to the tallest of adults.

While it may seem odd to have the bathroom described as awesome, you will agree as this one has not only a tub/shower combination, but a huge soaking tub to relax in when you aren't relaxing at the beach or any of the 3 pools or hot tub at the complex. There are two half baths - each with a toilet and sink - so there is privacy for all. One of the half baths is accessed through the master bedroom, the other through the hallway - and the tub shower combo is between the two half baths.

But the true gem of this place is the amazing balcony. Over 400 square feet of outdoor living space where you can watch the sun rise or enjoy dinner. There are sliding doors from the master bedroom and the living room that access this oasis.

And then there are the amenities of the complex. There are 3 pools at the complex. The "east" pool is heated in the off-season so that all of our guests can enjoy swimming, regardless of the time of year you choose to visit. The "lagoon pool" has a walk in aspect of it for the little ones, or take one of the plastic lounge chairs from the pool and lay barely in the water while sunning with your favorite beverage - of course in a plastic cup! The "resort" pool is the largest of the three and considered one of the largest in Galveston with 330,000 gallons of water, with palm trees literally growing out of the middle of the pool, and a swim up “bar” with in-water barstools from which you can enjoy your picnic lunch. (Not a functioning commercial bar - but you are certainly welcome to bring your own beverages.)

All condos are not the same! My Galveston Getaway is very particular about the condos we accept into our rental program, and Starfish Paradise meets our high standards. The company was founded by a condo owner who could not find anyone else in Galveston to give her guests the service they deserve!

In addition to standard refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, range & microwave - all of which are full sized (some condos offer apartment sized, or only a cooktop, mini-fridge and microwave - worth asking!) we've included many common counter-top appliances as well - coffee pot, toaster, blender (IT IS THE BEACH!), etc.

Remember, this is our getaway as well - and we wouldn't do any less for our guests than we do for ourselves, so you'll find the condo to truly be a home-away-from-home. We are lucky to be able to have this - we should share, right?

All cars on property are required to have a parking permit. They are $15.00/each and purchased from the office. Owners and management companies have nothing to do with this, we just have to play by the rules we are given.

Can't beat the VALUE! We compare our pricing regularly with local hotels - and there truly is no comparison. Yes, you are giving up daily maid service and maybe room service - but does that really matter on vacation or do you want more space, privacy, and the resort style vacation? And if there is anything that we can help with - we have contact who provide concierge services, will prepare for your arrival by stocking the condo, can arrange for private tours of local bars/restaurants, arrange dinner reservations, fishing tours, in-home massages or chefs to come and cook for you. Just tell us how we can help and we will do our best to make it happen.

YES is our favorite word.

We are required to collect and pay 9% occupancy taxes to the City of Galveston, 6% occupancy taxes to the State of Texas, a $15.00 fee for a damage waiver (since we don't ask for a security deposit) and a cleaning fee. When you contact us we will respond with an all-inclusive rate to you so that there will be no surprises. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and personal checks.

Their family has grown up visiting the island and now they share it with their own kids and extended family - as well as our guests who get to stay here when the family has to work to maintain their Galveston habit.

The balcony won the family over. They spend more time outside than inside when they are here. The resort complex and atmosphere also drew them in. Lounging by the resort pool with friends who own other condos here has been a favorite thing to do for them.

My Galveston Getaway manages many of the nicest condos in the Maravilla complex and along Galveston's Seawall Boulevard. If you are traveling with a group, let us know. We will give you a discount for extra condos rented. We have hosted teams competing in dance and cheer competitions and hosted 3 national champions. We have also had proposals in our condos, hosted bachelor/bachelorette parties, entire wedding parties and a family reunion. We can sleep over 100 - and would love to help make your group's gathering a success.

Not as expected -

First, I must say that Cathie did an admirable job trying to meet our needs. For that, I commend her.

We rented one unit and it had an odor - someone may have smoked in the unit. Broken chair and one of the closet doors completely fell away from one of the hinges. I was able to catch it before it fell - but not a good situation.

Called Cathie and she moved us to another unit. The unit was clean and bright. However, after a short time there, we noticed two of the three bar stools were broken. Without a dining table, it was hard to eat at the unit. We rent these types of units so we can eat our breakfast & evening meals "at home" . The shower head probably needs to be replaced - very little water pressure. The sliding glass door in the master bedroom may need some repair.

This is a large complex with a lot of tourists visiting many with pets like me. Many of the guests did not clean up after their animals even though there were bags in multiple locations for them to use. That was disappointing.

Good things - our unit had a beach view - parking was ample - 3 pools - not far from attractions or the beach.

Owner's Response: Valerie, Thanks for acknowledging that we did make every effort to accommodate you, and I truly thank you for bringing things to our attention as during the busy season we cannot be in each of our units between guests (obviously our cleaning crews are there, and our management team strives to check each unit as often as possible. I wish we had known of your concerns in the unit to which we moved you - as with the one you originally selected for your vacation, we would have had maintenance concerns addressed immediately as we strive for 100% customer satisfaction, and our almost 75% repeat offender (I, of course, mean returning guests) percentage. We love Galveston, we love making people happy - and we want it to show in everything that we do. Your comments are all taken to heart and will be addressed, I am just sorry we did not shine as we strive to do with every single guest. Hoping all of your future travels are happy ones! Cathie

Family vacation

Comfortable condo at a great price.

I'm in Galveston for work and my wife wanted to come down with our dog for a few weeks on her summer break so we decided to rent this condo for a month. It's a great place that allows dogs and isn't all torn up from previous dogs. Much cheaper than staying at a hotel and it has all the amenities for an extended stay. Overall a great experience.

Car: necessary

The Maravilla resort features 3 pools, one of them heated, as well as a hot tub and a fitness facility where you can work out while watching the waves. Outdoor games including ping pong, volleyball and corn hole are available on site. Many come to Galveston for the beaches, but when they see this resort they never leave!
