About Judy Walsh

After 25 years as a corporate executive, I have begun a new career as an innkeeper with my vacation rental in Austin. With my love of travel, and background in marketing and sales, it is the perfect fit. My husband Dennis and I have stayed in VRBOs for many years and so I have a good sense of what guests need and want for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We absolutely love the live music scene in Austin, and the youthful, spontaneous nature of urban living. We are avid bikers and spend a lot of time exploring the bike trails and paths around town. Everything we do is within a few mile radius of our home, including our vacation rental. That means we can make sure everything is in top shape for our guests, and respond quickly should any problems arise.

Why Judy Walsh chose Austin

We moved here in 1982 and stayed for 17 years as we developed our careers and businesses, and started our family. In the late 90’s opportunity took us away for 10 years. In 2009, we chose to come back “home” to our favorite place to live, Austin, Texas., with its relaxed lifestyle, friendly hospitality, and edgy personality.

What makes this townhome unique

This is the perfect place to be in central Austin. Our vacation home is right on the west edge of the downtown core, just outside the historic Clarksville neighborhood. There is hike and bike trail access just around the corner, which is a fun way to explore around town. And if you want to go for a night on the town, the cab fare home is about $6.

The list of conveniences is endless, but we love it that Austin Java is right across the street, not only for coffee, but they also have great food for breakfast, lunch and casual dinner. A great selection of beers on tap is just 100 steps away at The Tavern. Plus, you can walk to Whole Foods, Waterloos Records where they sometimes have live music in the parking lot, Book People, and the Capitol.

Loved this house!

Four of my girlfriends and I had a "college reunion" in Austin last weekend. The house was absolutely perfect! Super clean, great back porch (where we spent lots of hours drinking coffee and chatting!) Loved Austin Java and the Tavern, both right across the street, and we were able to walk to Whole Foods and check out the bars on 6th. Also went for a long run through Pease Park. Thank you Judy for an excellent weekend!

Judy was an absolute amazing host. a group of us were traveling from Australia and Judy made sure our stay was great and went well above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed ourselves, she allowed us to send tickets her her private address as they were not gong to be sent in time to Australia and was very accommodating when our plans were looking like changing. great host and the house was very clean and location worked well for us.

Great Place, Perfect Location

We stayed here for three nights on a recent trip to Austin when we were helping our son move to Austin for law school. The place was bright, clean, spacious and stylishly decorated. In fact, I liked Judy's furnishings so much I contacted her asking for recommendations about where to shop for furnishings for my son's apartment and she promptly responded with helpful suggestions.

The place was within walking distance of Whole Foods and a great locally owned book store and other shops such as Anthropologie and West Elm. 6th street was a short drive away (we took Uber) and the UT campus was also nearby. We had two cars and were able to park both cars in the circle drive which was the designated parking for our side of the duplex.

We'll definitely want to stay here again when we visit Austin.

Great central location! Close to all the action (University, Capitol, 6th street).

Three bedrooms, two baths with wifi, AC worked great. Lots of channels if you wanted to watch TV. Kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed the deck in the evening.

We would highly recommend this Duplex to families and couples.

Location was great, just off Lamar. Close to Whole Foods. Located close to I35 and 1.

Wonderful time and I would definitely consider Judy and Oscar on our next trip.

Best Place

This has been the best place to stay while visiting University of Texas or Austin in general.

We first stayed here when our daughter moved to Austin for her graduate year in August. We loved it so much that we immediately booked for Thanksgiving and Graduation.

It's so convenient to everything. It's in walking distance to Whole Food and a bunch of restaurants. We walked to the Capitol and took many Ride Austin rides for under $10.

Everybody had plenty of room. We got to enjoy our morning coffee on the deck. We were able to use the laundry room. It was a great home for a vacation in Austin.
