About Jane Yoder
Hello, we are Harold and Jane Roes Yoder. I was raised in upstate NY in the little town of Castorland. It is one of those towns that if you blink while driving through you will miss it. After my high school years I left Castorland and went into volunteer service through Rosedale Mennonite Missions and served a year in El Dorado AR at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home where I meet my husband, Harold. We married in 1980, had our 1st son James and lived in AR for the next year. We moved back to upstate NY for the next 5 years. By now our second son Adam was born. With Harold having some family in Lancaster county and not much luck with finding a good job in my home town we decided to move our family to Lancaster county. There Harold found his nitch as a Personal Care Home Administrator and for the next 18 years he served the residents and staff as their administrator. Harold was born in Pa and grew up on a farm in McVeytown. He worked hard all his growing up years on the family farm. As well, he left his hometown after high school to volunteer at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home as supervisor over maintenance, laundry and housekeeping. We are two people from two different areas; never knew each other growing up but ended up miles from our homes and found each other in El Dorado AR. We have been married now for 37 years this August 2017. We have two sons as mentioned, both are married. James and his wife have 4 children, Jocelyn (9) and Blake (6) and Everet almost 5 and Jaxon who is 1 year old. Our youngest son Adam just got married in June 2011 in Japan to a Japanese girl he met at Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake NY. They have 2 sons Sho Edwin who is 5 and Cole Christopher who is 1 year old. 2018 updated.
Jane Yoder purchased this Cabin in 2001
Why Jane Yoder chose Wellsboro
Because it is close to Wellsboro PA and the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. Wellsboro, a town of beauty and culture rich in natural resources and the County Seat of Tioga County, might be set down in any section of New England and find itself in familiar surroundings. The Wellsboro area, home of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, offers hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails from flat packed surfaces to rugged mountain terrain. Spend time fishing, swimming and canoeing in one of the many area parks. They’re free in Pennsylvania! Maybe you’d like to try horseback riding or have an off road adventure. It’s time to relax. Spend a few nights or a week or two enjoy fabulous meals at your choice of area restaurants. Stroll the gas lit streets of Wellsboro where you’ll find family owned businesses offering personal attention to your needs. Maybe you’d rather take a scenic train, trolley or go rafting. You’ll find it all here in the Wellsboro area. Looking for a getaway weekend that will rekindle the old fashioned Christmas spirit? Then plan to join us every 1st saturday for the annual Dicken’s of a Christmas. Wellsboro's Main Street and the surrounding side streets will be closed to traffic and will become an early Victorian marketplace featuring all types of delectable wares for eating and drinking, as well as delightful gift items for wearing or enjoying. Come and see us, it’s a short drive from your back yard to ours! What makes this Cabin unique
Many great things about this cabin are not only that is has all the comforts of home, the added cabin feel with the fire ring out back for the evening camp fire and the front yard for family games, but it's the location that makes it a great place as well.. Being close to the PA Grand Canyon area and all it's attractions make this a great place to vacation. The town of Wellsboro, also takes you back in time with the famous Wellsboro Diner on Main St. All the annual festivals Wellsboro has to offer such as the Dickens Christmas every 1st saturday of Dec. The Road Rally every 1st weekend in June. The Rattlesnake round up in the town of Morris every 2nd weekend and the wonderful Laurel Festival every 3rd weekend in June. The Steak House right in the middle of town is one of my favorite places to eat, or is it Timeless Destination, maybe the Chinese restaurant. Well, I know for sure the Native Bagel is a favorite. Pag-o-Mars Farmer market along 287 N right across from Tioga train station is a great place to buy fresh foods and get subs and ice cream. Oh, you must try Perry's ice cream up the road on 287 N. Also, check out our new Asaph Run cabin, VRBO.com 371046 listing, less then 1/2 mile from this one, to meet your larger group needs. Asaph Run is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin sleeps up to 10 people!!! A very cozy as well for just the two of you.
