Nice Home on the Water
Our family had a wonderful stay at this villa on the water. Close to a train station and other spots in Northern Holland, the location was perfect for our needs. The manager was prompt and professional. Great experience.
Best place in the area to stay
What an amazing town, house, trip! We enjoyed ten days at this house last summer and it had everything one could want as far as comfort goes. The bikes were a big hit as there are many places to go via bike in the area. It's a great vacation house with all the comforts of home and beautiful furnishings, view and amenities. The access to the village to get groceries was quick and easy and such a lovely drive. Truly relaxing!
Quiet spacious and modern house
Our family (2 adults + 3 teenage children) stayed at this house for 2 weeks in August 2012. The description and photos reflect the house's picturesque location. The house had everything a family needs - diswasher, large dining room table, outdoor furniture, washing machine and drier, 3 bikes (one for a tall person) etc. The master bedroom had a large en-suite bathroom. The other bedrooms, which had bunk beds, were apprpriate for the children, and had a bathroom with a shower. We especially enjoyed feeding the ducks everyday and just relaxing on the grass by the water. The caretaker was extremely helpful and went over and beyond the call of duty to help us with sightseeing recommendations and problem solving (our daughter got sick and we needed a doctor). There is a village nearby (Langweer-about a km. or a 15 minute walk) which has everything you need - a grocery store, restaurants, shops, etc. A little further there is a larger town (Joure) which has supermarkets, stores and even a museum. The only (minor) problem that we encountered was that we could not rent a canoe or rowboat to use on the lake - only a motorboat. We did enjoy swimming in the lake and we understand that the owner will be installing a ladder so that it will be easier to get in and out of the water. There are numerous picturesque villages nearby to visit (Hinderloopen, Sloten) as well as larger cities somewhat further away (Sneek). We had a wonderful relaxing vacation and highly recommend the place to other families.

About Pietie van Keimpema
This is our home in the Netherland. Not just a "rental". Over the past few years, we have been renovating our place to high standards. The latest is a master bathroom (June 2020). We put a lot of love into this house and we are happy to see it having an active life so more people get to enjoy this wonderful place.

Why Pietie van Keimpema chose Boornzwaag
This place has it all. Tranquility, tons of nature, privacy, easy access to lakes and waterways, quaint villages, bike paths unparralled. Area services abound. An hour from college towns Leeuwarden and Groningen. You are out on the land but yet not far from modern conveniences and what may become your favorite watering hole.
What makes this Villa unique
The Villa is located on a cul-de-sac, so no traffic. The traffic you do get is on the water when the neighboring owners take their (beautiful) boats out for a spin. When renting a boat, you can moore it on the property shore. All in a very relaxed, quiet atmosphere. Note: The owner's boat is not included in the rental.
