Capanna Cerreto is a private country villa nestled in 50 acres of vineyards and woodlands in Chianti. This former hayloft to the Castle of Cerreto has been totally transformed into a luxurious yet relaxed country home by its decorator owner.
The unusually large hand-forged windows and doors create a light and airy three-storey villa. There are two large, comfortable indoor living rooms on separate floors along with a beautiful summer sitting area under a pergola that runs the entire length of the house overlooking the pool. With breathtaking views and gentle summer breezes, the pergola is the ideal shaded spot for friends and family to gather for leisurely meals, conversations or drinks.
The villa has been designed with ample space to provide quiet, memorable moments. Leading off the entrance hall on the spacious ground floor is the living room with its large, open fireplace. The adjacent dining room and kitchen open onto the south-facing, wisteria-covered shaded pergola. Walk down the stone steps to the pool with a fragrant landscaped garden that offers the perfect place to relax and cool down on a Tuscan summers day.
Up on the first floor are three bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. On the large lower ground level, the sunny living room is ideal for families with a flat screen TV and DVD player. There are also three bedrooms on this floor including a charming corner bedroom.
This villa, with its complementary mix of antique and contemporary furniture, old handmade terracotta tiles and beautiful gardens, makes a recommended setting from which the many gems of Tuscany can be enjoyed.

Amazing week in Tuscany
I spent a week at Capanna with 5 girlfriends for my 50th birthday. The villa was perfection. Updated and well appointed and situated close to all the hill towns yet surrounded by countryside. We had a blast in the pool, hiking to the nearby hotel and wineries, enjoying the fire at night. It could not have been a better spot for us!
When I found this villa online, I immediately knew that this was the perfect one for me and my friends. It comes with a pool, grill, a fireplace and all kitchen appliances are update to date. The rooms and bathrooms are large and comfortable. Plenty of space for 12 people to temporarily reside. The only down part of the villa is the location. It is very hard to locate on Google Maps as it is very remote. Trying to explain to a cab driver was also a slight challenge, but if you explain that the villa is near Hotel Le Fontanelle, they will understand where to go. Otherwise this home is perfect and I cannot wait to stay here again!
Our stay at the Capanna Cereto was nothing short of magnificent. The villa provides a central location to go out and about and explore the area or just laze away the days by the pool (weather depending of course). Salvatore and Rosanna make sure the villa is kept spotless and Salvatore is a wealth of information and is extremely accommodating in whatever your needs/wants may be. The Villa itself is well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing break with well appointed rooms and plenty of space to spread out. We definitely made it our home away from home while we were there and were sad when we had to pack up and depart. If you are after a quiet getaway to relax and enjoy the Tuscan countryside you could not ask for a better villa than Capanna Cerato.
Tuscan Family Vacation
Wonderful villa; great setting and excellent staff. Will definitely consider returning in the near future.
Everything was super. Manager Salvatore...
Everything was super.
Manager Salvatore is an excellent person.
Helped us with everything.
We had an emergency with our 5 year old, and we woke him early morning, and he was sweet as ever and helpful as ever.
We wanted to do have dinner at home after a tiring day..he came to our rescue and picked up pizzas for us from nearby :)
And he's full of information..
It was a pleasure all in all.
Thanks very much..
Fantastic home base to explore Tuscany and nearby areas
We had a wonderful week at Capanna Cerreto! It was centrally located allowing us to explore in all directions around us. The villa was set up well to accommodate our group of 6 couples, although the room downstairs with 2 twin beds was not ideal. Initially the villa is VERY difficult to find, but easy once you have done so. A few other comments from the group. 1) No wifi downstairs was frustrating for those staying in that area (perhaps put an additional router or extenders downstairs). 2) A change of towels and/or sheets mid-week without charge would have been nice and 3) Translation posted in English of W/D controls might have been advantageous. Salvatore was incredibly attentive and accommodating to our every wish, including, but not limited to, making dining reservations and building a fire when requesting wood. Although Rosanna didn't speak English, she was reliable and thorough with her cleaning throughout the house.
