Villa, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-4)
HERON'S RETREAT is a charming beachfront villa and the Tuscan architecture together with its colonial style furniture reflects the casual elegance of the French colonial Great Houses of past centuries which featured verandas, balconies and louvred windows.
It is situated on a long tranquil beach which runs for miles. You are well away from 'condo land' here (but only a few minutes drive away if you want a change of pace).
The villa has 2 bedrooms each with a queen size bed and closet and 2 bathrooms with a spacious shower.
The upstairs bedroom suite consists of a bathroom and a bedroom with a four poster bed and its own covered balcony with stunning views of the ocean. A romantic place for early morning coffee while watching the Pelicans fish or for sunset cocktails.
The second bedroom is downstairs and also has spectacular ocean views . It shares a spacious covered terrace with the living room. It also has a bathroom. All of the rooms in the villa including the bathrooms have awesome ocean rooms. The terrace has teak loungers and dining table and chairs for al fresco dining.
The property is beachfront and there is a small pathway onto the beach. I have put some beach chairs, umbrellas, mats, towels and beach toys in the house. Thompson's Cove Beach is a good place for swimming and snorkeling and for lunch you might want to walk for 5 minutes along the beach to 2 beach bars and restaurants, one of which specialises in conch, a local Turks and Caicos specialty.
The lounge dining area and kitchen are all in an open plan room. The lounge furniture is leather and there is a TV, DVD player, Stereo for CDs with Ipod dock, Internet, WiFi and some CDs, DVDs, books and magazines.
The kitchen is very well equipped and includes a microwave, electric ceramic top stove, dishwasher, fridge freezer and clothes washer/dryer.
You can BarBQ and dine under the stars at the front of the house where there is a BarBQ area.
The villa is surrounded by tropical vegetation. The Palms, Neem Trees and tropical flowers give a feeling of calm exotic tranquility. The driveway is lined with Indonesian lanterns and you will find Balinese and other Indonesian sculptures and stonework dotted around the garden.
The birdlife is spectacular and you will frequently see Pelicans fishing and Herons. You should also see Ospreys flying over from time to time. The Night Herons nest in the surrounding vegetation so please do not disturb them when you see them walking around. If you find crab shells on the driveway, it will be the remains of a Heron's dinner from the previous night.
The land area is 1.8 acres and there are only 2 very private villas on the property both hidden behind tall vegetation. The estate is fenced and you enter the driveway by means of an electronic gate. There is also a monitored alarm system.
The villa has central AC which is separately metered and you are charged separately for this. The Bedrooms and Living Room all have ceiling fans.
I have tried to ensure the villa has every comfort so you can relax completely and chill out. There are plenty of towels and linens and everything you would want in the kitchen so that you really feel it is your home away from home. I want you to experience what it is like to live in the tropics. It is so beautiful and tranquil. What about getting married on the beach? The villa would also be a romantic hideaway for honeymoons.
In addition to beachcombing, swimming, snorkeling and birdwatching there is a large choice of watersports available on island including diving, snuba, fishing, parasailing, sailing, kiteboarding, water skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, stand up paddleboarding, semi submarine, glass bottom boat and kayaking. There are also trips to neighbouring islands and excursions by boat to see iguanas, flamingos, glow worms and sunset cruises.
For golfers, there is a beautiful 18 hole golf course about 20 minutes drive away.
For gamblers, there are 2 Casinos about 7/15 minutes drive.
If you want to eat out (or get a take away) Provo has a large choice of excellent restaurants including International/French, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Indian, Thai , Asian and Caribbean all 5 to 20 minutes drive away.

I moved to Turks and Caicos 31 years ago from the UK. I bought this land and had this villa designed and built for me about 12 years ago.
Why Pamela chose Providenciales
I bought this beautiful beachfront land as it is in an upscale residential area with a wonderful ambience in a very central location. The highest point in Turks and Caicos is on the eastern edge of Thompson's Cove. There is a canal shaped marina where some property owners keep their boats. My property is on a quiet beach which runs for miles. What makes this idyllic location so superb is the water, the beach, its wonderful birdlife, underwater life and fascinating tropical vegetation.
What makes this Villa unique
Being on a large piece of land with plenty of privacy due to the vegetation and also being located on a very long quiet beach. It is an affordable way for 1 to 4 people to relax and chill out in the tropics right on the beach. It is a luxurious well equipped cottage and the beach is deserted. With its central location access to all parts of the island is easy. You can drive in one direction and reach beautiful Chalk Sound and dine by the water's edge or drive in another direction and enjoy all the facilities of charming Turtle Cove or famous Grace Bay Beach.

Path to the awesome beach, needs to be attended to. Quite rocky.
Beautiful Beach View
Comfortable and private house just a few steps from the beach. We found easy access to Smith's Reef for snorkeling just a couple of miles down the road. The patios offer great locations to read while listening to the surf. Great place to slow down.
Lovely property, conveniently located, private beach
This beautiful home is ideal for those who want a quiet, private retreat but with easy access to restaurants, shopping and entertainment. The house is well equipped with everything you need for the beach. It is located on a quiet, white sand beach. We typically saw one or two people per day on the beach but were a 5 minute walk to Da Conch Shack restaurant if you crave some interaction with others. I would highly recommend renting a car. There is a nice grocery store as well as shopping and the Grace bay beaches all within 10-15 minutes from the house. Our host Pamela was a great resource. Attentive when we needed anything but otherwise left us to enjoy the house and the beach. We will definitely return to Herons Retreat in the future!
Quiet getaway to TCI
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful few days with friends of ours in TCI. This location on Thompson Cove provided a quiet, relaxing spot. The views are beautiful. Turtles play in the water near the shore. We walked down to Da Conch Shack for lunch a couple of times. We had a rental car to explore the island and found some great restaurants not too far away. Evening breezes and the sound of the waves made for great sleeping.
Pleasant, private and undisturbed.
A car rental is an absolute must as this property is remotely located. We were met at the Airport by Jeremy, which was very helpful. We followed him to the property in our car, which is approx. 5-7 minutes from the Airport, and he gave us the 'tour' of the property. There is a feeling of safety and solitude as the property is surrounded by a chain link fence and there is electronic gate access and the house has a security system. It's adequately stocked as a vacation rental and the IGA Grocery store is a short 10-12 minutes drive away.
We only went to the beach twice as it rained for 5 of the 6 days we were there. We bought mostly breakfast supplies and ate out for the other meals. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and we definitely recommend using Trip Advisor to make your selections. As the weather wasn't great, we drove around much of the Island and spent time in/around the Grace Bay resort area for meals, tourist shopping and, of course, a couples massage at the Windsong Resort! The accommodation was more than adequate for the two of us and aside from the property showing a few signs of wear and tear - expected of a vacation rental - it met our expectations. One slightly annoying aspect was the alarm system beeping overnight on two nights and waking us up. We managed to set/re-set it in the middle of the night and reported it to Jeremy who promised to get it fixed. Other than that, a perfectly comfortable retreat for a couple, family or friends seeking privacy during their stay in TCI.
Beautiful home in Thompson Cove!
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful 2 bedroom home with views of Thompson Cove! Pamela made us feel very welcome and was very responsive to any questions/problems we had. We saw so many turtles just wading in the water! It's a short walk to two great restaurants right on the beach, one being Da Conch Bar. We rented a car so we could see the other beaches and the snorkeling was fantastic. Except for dealing with all the tourists, the island is wonderful. But It was always nice to come back to Herons Retreat where we felt very relaxed and at home.
