Need to get out of the city for a few days? Imagine sitting down with a glass of wine watching the sunset paint a rainbow of colours across your own private waterfront getaway. Coracle Cove is located on a small body of water which we share with a handful of seasonal, but seldom occupied cottages, giving us a heightened sense of privacy.
Our waterside hot tub, described as 'The best view in BC,' sits on an oceanside deck which literally hangs beside the ocean, as waves crash onto the rocks below. Does this sound like what you're looking for, a place where you can completely relax for a few days or more, and that's only 90 minutes from Vancouver.
Facing south, we enjoy the full range of the movement of the sun from its deep purple sunrises to those rainbow-filled sunsets. The reflections on the still ocean waters create a beauty that is simply unparalleled. Relax and take in this very special view on our large oceanside deck. If you want to be even closer to the water, move down to the floating dock and take a seat in one of our big comfortable chairs. Feel the light ocean breeze on your face and listen to the gentle lapping of the water - it's often the only sound you'll hear.
Coracle Cove operated as a bed and breakfast for over a decade, receiving over 75 'excellent' reviews, as well as their annual Certificate of Excellence awards. We have just been awarded the 'Gold Top Vacation Rental' award by HomeAway. We made the recent transition to a vacation rental in order to offer our guests greater independence and affordability, but we still offer the same high level of personalized service that our guests are often seeking.
With its own exterior entrance, our single suite is completely private and provides lots of room in a well designed 800 sq.Ft. space. A fully-equipped kitchen and bright living room boast large windows looking out to the ocean. A walk-out covered deck is just a stone's throw from the water, and a comfortable place to sit, enjoy the view and watch a variety of birds at the nearby feeder. Please note, this is a smoke free property.
There is a large, bright bedroom with a king-sized bed and comfortable obus form mattress.
Located on Sechelt Inlet on a pristine half-acre setting, you're only 10 minutes from the town of Sechelt, yet far enough away to feel like you've escaped to a very special place. Over 40 different bird species appear throughout the year. Seals can often be seen just off the dock, and porpoises and dolphins are frequent visitors. Check out the photo gallery on our website for some of the critters you'll see and bring your camera when you visit.

We discovered the Sunshine Coast in 1974 when Jack needed a place to do his student teaching. Our roots in this beautiful community grew deeper and deeper and we consider ourselves extremely lucky to have found Paradise so early in our lives.
Jack enjoyed teaching a variety of subjects at both the high school and elementary levels. His love was history, first nurtured from travelling through Europe. He retired from the classroom in 2006, but quickly replaced this with other interests. He helped to develop the Sunshine Coast B&B Association, and was a Founding Director of Sunshine Coast Tourism. He also served on the Board of Directors for Vancouver Coast & Mountains Tourism Region.
Sheila recently retired from a very successful career in real estate. She has replaced her busy work schedule with volunteer work as a member of the Sunshine Coast Search & Rescue Team and Program Director for the Sechelt Rotary Club.
Retirement has given us both the gift of time... time to spend with our three grandchildren who live nearby, time to persue hobbies and time for travel. Life is Good!!
Jack Pope purchased this apartment in 1999
Sheila found this incredible piece of property and we always like to boast that we had the best Realtor in the world. We're on a small body of water that we share with a handful of seasonal cottages, most of which are seldom used, so we have a real heightened sense of privacy and relaxation. It's south facing so we get sunshine all day and experience beautiful sunrises and sunsets throughout the year.
When you're on the water you have an expansive, uninterrupted view. We see boats of all shapes and sizes, float planes and a wide range of wild life, both below and above the water and in the air. There's always something that catches your eye, that catches your breath and you just have to stop and look... and then grab your camera.
If you want to have a relaxing time, but also enjoy the sights and adventures in Sechelt, i highly recommend this place and these hosts. This place is clean and cozy. The views are picturesque! And the details in the property were well thought off. We had a relaxing time drinking our coffees by the dock in the morning, and then sipping our wines just after sunset by the covered patio. We also enjoyed the views while sitting on the hot tub. And, got to see some seals & jellyfish. The hosts are knowledgeable, friendly, but also professional. I especially appreciated their tips & recommendations on places to see, & things to do in Sechelt. As we followed most of them and enjoyed them. Particularly, trying out the food places, canoeing and hiking. Location is also close enough driving to most places. Thanks Jack & Sheila for letting us stay in your lovely B&B! We'll be recommending this to our friends!
My girlfriend and I stayed at Coracle Cove for a last minute 3 night getaway and will absolutely be back the next time we travel up the Sunshine Coast. The property is beautiful, quiet, very private and well maintained. Jack and Sheila were such great hosts, answering any of our questions about where to eat, what to do and see in the area with a wealth of knowledge. We spent our time up there relaxing, hiking, and kayaking with no set schedule what so ever. We both agree, we were very lucky to come across Coracle Cove. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed with this place!
Coracle Cove is very well suited to our family's needs.
The breakfasts are simply delicious, and I would highly recommend you add-this option on to your package. Also, Jack is one of the most skilled hosts I've ever met. He's friendly, informative and attentive without being intrusive.
I would say that meeting all the basics expectations of service and cleanliness makes this a great choice. Add to that all the little extras (e.g being ocean-front, view from the hot-tub and breakfast service) and it becomes the only place to stay when visiting the sunshine coast.
We talked on the way home about making this our yearly getaway.
A clean and cozy B&B. The property is perfect and very quiet. The ocean side hot tub and dock were our favourite.
