Located in the heart of Kona, this fourth (top) floor unit has views of the ocean and the mountains. The sunrise over the mountains is spectacular but you won't want to miss the sunset over the ocean either. The complex is across the street from the ocean on the main street, Alii Drive, that runs along the shoreline of Kailua-Kona. Close to the pier where they have Luau's, dinner cruises, and where other water activities originate. Close to shopping and restaurants and other attractions.

Our unit is fully equipped with everything you'll need for a short or an extended stay. With a queen-size bed in one bedroom, a full-size bed in the other bedroom and a queen-size sofa-sleeper in the living room, the unit will sleep a maximum of six adults comfortably. It also has 2 full bathrooms and a stacked washer and dryer. The complex has underground, secure parking with elevators to your floor.There is also access to the mall on Alii Drive through the door to the left when you exit the elevator with a large Aloha mural on the wall. Your pool/elevator key fits this door also. So no worries when you are ready to return home, you do not have to walk around to the front door. or carry the garage remote with you. The fourth floor has a large common sun deck that over looks the historical Church of King Kameamea, Alii Drive shops and restaurants as well as the Pier. Just on the other side of the pier is the Luau pit and seating, on Luau nights you can watch the fire dancers perform for their guests. The Lanai is equipped with propane BBQ grills, chairs and tables for a 10 to 15 person get together. The unit also has a large lanai itself, with a table that seats 6. The railing is screened so nothing can get through and fall on the patio below. Everything is in short walking distance so park your car and walk.

Do not rent from this owner. You get what you pay for-cheep/run down/horrible customer service

The unit is not cared for at all, not sure when the owner has actually been there. If they had I would hope they would want to make their condo better not just for themselves to stay in but others as well. They attempted to make an upgrade by slapping on new counter tops in the kitchen and the bathrooms but the doors and cabinets are so old it just looks bad. The carpet is horribly dirty and in reality should be taken out and replaced with tile or something else. My brother rented a separate unit in the complex and night and day compared to this one. Much nicer, more modern and obviously cared for. The unit can sleep 4 but there were only 3 beach towels. Two bathrooms only 1 bathmat. If you sit on the lani in the morning expect twice a week to be greeted by the garbage truck. The smell is horrible that you can't sit on the lani while they are dealing with the trash. You can see the ocean but your real view is of the alley. The unit is situated so that you can't see the sunsets as well.

My biggest complaint is about the owner and their failure to communicate. The only way we were able to get the access codes to the unit was by involving VRBO customer support and even then she wouldn't provide us with the codes until 2 days before we traveled. We have rented through VRBO several times before and this was the first time we encountered this. Even then once we got to the unit at 8:00 pm the code she gave us didn't work. We had to call her and she had to issue another code. Thankfully she picked up the phone.

The other significant issue was the owner notified us that the washer/dryer was broke in the unit and they were trying to get it replaced by the time we arrived. I sent an email asking if there was a laundry mate in the area we might be able to use. No response. After we got there I sent an email asking for a status on the washer/dryer. She stated that it was now not going to be replaced until May 31st because she couldn't get anyone to deliver it. Within that email she indicated she would reimburse us for the cost of doing the laundry. I sent the owner two separate emails asking about the reimbursement and as typical this person's communication style-zero response. We stayed for 2 full weeks, we brought enough clothes for 7 days but going to the beach everyday and taking a shower after meant dirty towels with no means to wash them-gross. The owners lack of response to make it right-not cool. Rent at own risk.

Miserable stay, no response/help from owner

The building's air-conditioning was down our entire stay, which is not the owner's fault. Of the three portable fans in the unit, only one was blowing air that could be felt. You could sit in front of the other 2 fans and sweat and not feel any air at all. We emailed the owner our plight, but received no acknowledgement or response.

Location, facilities, cleanliness were all good. If nothing goes wrong, great. But if there is a problem don't expect a response. We would not stay here again.

I love this place!

We've stayed here twice now and plan on renting this place again next year too. Big comfortable condo in a perfect location with a fantastic lanai. The owner Carolyn is great to work and does a wonderful job of making sure everything goes smoothly.

Nice and spacious. Very stressful booking experience

I really liked the apartment because it was very big and nicely maintained and well equipped. We didn't use the balcony because it had too much noise from other buildings AC.

We booked the apartment three days before check in day. The property manager for back to us promptly and we sent the signed rental agreement. Payment was processed. Then in the next two days I never heard back, and no one answered emails or phone calls. This means that I arrived to Kona airport not knowing where I'm staying. Finally I called vrbo and they were able to give me several phone numbers not listed anywhere. I finally got a hold. With no excuses or explanations, as if it was regular business, I was told the address and entrance codes at 11 am the day I was checking in, when I was in my way of finding a hotel - and hoping I can dispute the booking charges on my credit card with my bank. Not fun.

After that we really enjoyed the apartment.

An AWESOME 25th Wedding Anniversary

I meant to write this earlier. My husband and I stay at this condo whenever we go to Kona which I think is 3 times. The location is perfect. The condo is AWESOME, and the owner is so very NICE! We GREATLY APPRECIATE him sharing his condo with others (especially us). We were there is August 2013. We will be going back to Kona and hopefully we will stay at his condo. We also stayed at his condo in Kauai which was equally awesome. David, thank you for everything!!!

You will be surprised, great value

For being a 2 br, 2bath unit for the price advertised and being close to downtown, we were quite surprised how well equipped the unit was. All the attention to detail was there to make our stay enjoyable as possible. A big 10 from us. Thanks John.
