About the Property
Fabulous, Historic Home In The Absolute Center Of Everything!
Walk into our home's main floor, and you'll find a deliciously comfortable sofa and armchair, flat screen television, fully-stocked bookcases (feel free to take down a book and let us know which ones you like - we're always excited to chat with folks about the ones they've enjoyed reading!), as well as a dining area with an extendable table that can seat 6-10 guests comfortably - perfect for having the whole family sit together for meals after a day of sightseeing and exploring our wonderful city.
As you walk towards the back of the house, you can go out into our lovely back patio, and enjoy some grilling, or just relaxing outside when the weather is good. Or, you can head down the steps to find a new, modern kitchen - replete with granite counter-tops, exposed brick, an eat-in breakfast area with seating for four, and all the appliances and kitchenware you need to feel completely at home.
Head on up to the second floor where you'll find two bedrooms and a bath. The first bedroom has a full-size bed (which can comfortably fit two - we've tried, and it's great!) and the second bedroom boasts a queen. The rooms have been decorated to be comfortable, functional, and have original charm and personality. All linens and towels are new and luxurious, so you can feel like you're in a fancy hotel while enjoying the benefits of staying in a loved, comfortable home! We also make sure our pantry and bathrooms are fully stocked, so no need to worry about bringing little things like toothpaste, soap, or shampoo.
Wait until you reach the top floor - it's our piece de resistance! The master suite has three rooms - a sitting area with a bricked-in historic fireplace and small desk, where you can relax or get some work done (and where guests with little ones like to set up a pac-n-play or crib); a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a delicious king-size bed; and up the steps, you'll find a loft area with its own library and a pull-out sofa that sleeps 1 person. There's also space for our 2 air mattresses in the master suite, so this space alone can sleep up to 4 people!
A free wireless internet connection is available throughout.
This house was built about 150 years ago, and boasts all the charm and beauty of a historic Philadelphia townhome. The wood floors are absolutely gorgeous - wide-planked originals - and there is a majestic fireplace and built-in bookcases adorning the living room, making you feel that you're really staying in a little piece of Philly history. Now don't worry - it's not a trinity with a crazy vertical staircase! However, our stairs do gently spiral up, and while we have had pregnant women, as well as two and five-year-olds scamper up and down them with ease, we want to make sure that our guests are aware that the home may be difficult for those with special physical needs, or the elderly. We are happy to send you additional information or answer any questions you may have when we chat.
A separate rental agreement between the Guest and Host, which summarizes the agreed upon dates, the rental fee paid to HomeAway, and general conditions about renting the apartment, including the House Rules that appear under this listing, will be sent to the Guest for review and signature prior to check-in.
There is a $125 cleaning fee per stay in order to help defray the costs of cleaning and preparing the home for the next guest.
(Prices may also vary during holidays, weekends, and special events, so please check the calendar, which is updated consistently, or contact us with your specific dates.)
We love this house very much, and have put a lot of heart and soul into making it beautiful, unique, and warm. We know you will enjoy the care that has been put into keeping this beautiful 3 bedroom home clean, comfortable, and convenient. Most of our neighbors are kind, Philadelphia is our beloved chosen city, and we know you will enjoy staying here as much as we enjoy living here!
Please Note: We require a phone call to determine whether or not our home is a good fit for you in your travels, and we will coordinate a time to speak with you at our and your earliest convenience. Our preference is to host families and small companies and we require that the person who makes the booking stay throughout the reservation period.

About the owner: We are a young couple living in Center City Philadelphia after falling in love with the city, uprooting ourselves, and moving here from New York City, where we both grew up. We are former teachers who are now small business owners. We love to travel and explore, and are part of this community in order to make that dream possible! We are thoughtful, detail-oriented, caring people, and we know you will feel comfortable as soon as you step into our property.
