Cool! and wildlife

Cabin is set at 7500 feet, which averages about 8 degrees cooler in the summer from downtown, and 15 degrees cooler than the El Paso/Albuquerque/Lubbock southwest! Visitors from the Dallas or Houston area will notice that while Sandy's Place is in the mountains, it still carries LOW humidity.

Deer, elk, wild turkeys, raccoons daily visitors--most female deer will eat deer corn out of your hand!

Access

Sandy's Place is easily accessed from US 70 through downtown Ruidoso, New Mexico--yet retains it's quiet charm off a gravel access road that accommodates two full-time residences and this home. Easy accessibility in spring, summer, and fall by any vehicle: winter months might require 4-wheel drive depending on conditions.

Loved it! Such a serene location!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sandy's Cottage. The views are outstanding and canNOT be beat! The cabin has everything you could ever need. The owners have even put in satellite tv, and my two sons were very appreciative!

Old but clean with amazing view. Needed some yard work

  • 3 of 5

There was two issues. The beds were very uncomfortable and it was advertised with washer and dryer so we packed light for 5 nights and there was no washer and dryer. It was a beautiful view and private. Old but clean other than the two issues just what we was looking for. We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the sun set. Even enjoyed the neighbors dog very well behaved and friendly she came to visit us daily.

Owner's Response: Yes, old but clean--true cabins built in 1959--rustic and clean, with modern amenities. All mattresses in both cabins will be replaced in March, 2018--sorry for the inconvenience. W/D available for renters over a week--sorry for the confusion. Glad you enjoyed your peaceful stay. Larry and Sandra White

Quiet, rustic cabin with great views from the front deck.

  • 5 of 5

It was the perfect place for a golfing vacation away from the Texas heat. We enjoyed the deer in the yard as well as the hummingbirds and other wildlife. The cabin is comfortable and the view of the mountains from the deck is amazing.
