Guestbook comments from the manager

This vacation was one of the best ever! Our stay in Heron Oaks was wonderful. The home was so warm and comfortable. We enjoyed working with the Destination Amelia people who were so helpful. We loved the trails for taking lots of walks and of course the beach. We will definitely be back.

This home has everything you will ever need. Home is beautiful maintained and well upgraded. The master suite upstairs was the best, with copper sinks and even a large jewelry chest. Lower level has a master suite as well. All the furniture and mattress are of higher quality than most rentals. The study came in handy for handling some business. Everything was spotless. Beach close by, bike paths everywhere you can even ride to the grocery store, restaurants and shops. The manager was most helpful with a few bumps in the road but was very attentive and took care of everything within an hour. This is probably the best bargain in the Plantation. Would love to stay there again.

Spacious and Comfortable in a Good Location

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at Amelia Island more than 4 times and this home is our favorite due to its spaciousness, well stocked kitchen, patio and location. A good value. Our only recommendation is a better grill. The current grill is too small and not able to accomodate cooking a dinner for a family of 5. We would recommend this property and hope to return next year.

Amelia is beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Amelia Island is a beautiful place with lots of things to do, and this house was perfect for us. It's a short walk to the beach, and the beach is wonderful and not overcrowded. The house is spacious and it was great to have WiFi plus a study to set up our computers. We were there in warm weather but the fireplace in the living room was inviting had we needed it. The patio area is very private and it was great to have a garage to park our rental car in. This house is nicely furnished and has everything we needed. The view in the morning from the Master Bedroom is really special - a mass of the Island's Live Oaks. We ate out mostly and enjoyed the Verandah Restaurant and Lulu's. We also had the opportunity to eat at the Amelia Club which has just been renovated and is gorgeous. We're golfers and love the Plantation golf courses - inland and ocean holes that provide lots of challenges. Overall, it was a really fun experience; we can't wait to go back and will definitely stay here again!

Spring Break Amelia Island

  • 4 of 5

My family of three was traveling with another family of three. We wanted to stay where we could get away from it all, but could be sure that the kids would be safe even when they explored on their own. We chose Amelia Island Plantation because we had been there before, and knew that it was secure. The kids enjoyed riding bikes on all of the dedicated paths. The wives liked shopping, while the men enjoyed the golf. All enjoyed walks through the property as well as on the beach. We also liked Fort Clinch park and our boat tour of Cumberland Island, GA.

This home appealed to us as it had essentially two master bedrooms. It is in very good condition. Its beautiful location is nestled among dozens of large oak trees. The rental firm was a joy to work with.

Upon arrival, our primary disappointment was that the house did not have a DVD player. We ended up buying an inexpensive unit at WalMart to use while we were there. Also, we asked for internet and were told that the house had it, but that was not the case. We made due with air-cards, but coverage was not great.

Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend thiis house and Amelia Island in general.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay on Amelia Island. We are sorry to hear of the issues you encountered at the home during your stay. This home was with a another property manager at the time of your visit and we have addressed the issues you mentioned since we took over management in 2012. This home does now have a DVD player in the main living room. Also, WiFi is provided throughout the home. The office area on the main floor provides a great setup if you are doing work away from home. Again, we are glad to hear you enjoyed the accommodations and we appreciate the feedback.
