This secluded one of a kind Catskill Mountain log cabin is 2 hours from the George Washington Bridge. The fully furnished cabin is clean, cozy and airy and is a great place for a family to get away to. The newly renovated kitchen is big and open and perfect for group cooking and gathering. It features a Viking stove, ice cream maker, Meile dishwasher and 2 sinks. The cabin features a wood burning fireplace; dining table big enough for 10; an out of tune piano, a great collection of both adult and children's books and board games; wireless high speed internet access is available as well as a 36 inch flat screen TV with a DVD player; stereo with multi-disc CD player and iPod jack with indoor and/or outdoor speakers; and a covered front porch. Outside is a fire pit, a fantastic tire swing, a sledding hill in winter, a tree house and a big front lawn, perfect for a football game or snowball fight.
The cabin is surrounded by 20 acres of private, quiet, beautiful woods, full of deer, turkey, squirrels, owls and chipmunks. Take a quiet walk along our babbling Thorpe Creek to the swimming hole or hike up the creek to explore magnificent waterfalls.
In the area- explore hiking trails in the Catskill Mountains, visit Olana - the home of Hudson River artist Frederick Church, shop at nearby organic farm stands, go antiquing in Hudson, visit yards sales, and jump into a local auction. Skiers! We're a 20 minute drive from Windham, 30 minutes from Hunter. Go swimming, fishing, horseback riding, cross country skiing and after, visit local Irish pubs with nightly musical entertainment. This is a perfect place to spend some relaxed time with the ones you love.

Ellen and Matt Dudley purchased this Cabin in 1999
Why Ellen and Matt Dudley chose East Durham
We bought our cabin from the man who built it by hand. We've carefully added a chef's kitchen and an all-ply bathroom, making the cabin functional, enjoyable and beautiful, without diminishing the rustic simplicity. The property is rugged and natural.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin is warm in the winter, and cool in the summer months. It sits on 5 cleared acres surrounded by 20 acres of woods. We love having complete seclusion, outdoor showers, campfires and access to nature. The swimming hole is magical and the creek bordering the property affords hours of exploration. Wildlife is happy and welcomed on our property. We have deer, turkeys, fox, groundhogs, tiny orange salamanders, hummingbirds, owls and geese. We hear the coyotes at night in the summer, but have never seen them.

Perfect cabin to disconnect during any season!
Wonderful experience at the cabin. My husband, pup, and I spent a few days in March. The cabin is secluded and private on a very large lot of land. Inside, it is very well kept and thoughtfully decorated in a warm and rustic way. It is very spacious, welcoming, and comfortable. The chef's kitchen was wonderful to use for any culinary projects. Outdoors, there are plenty of trails on the property, following a creek to a swimming hole as well as beautiful waterfalls. Ellen was very responsive and available - thank you for a great experience. Highly recommend and would definitely return!
Amazing well cared for cabin in the woods!
My family and I rented this cabin from Friday til Monday and it was amazing. The cabin was awesome and the calm relaxing environment was great. Ellen and Matt were excellent at responding to any questions we had. Thanks again to the Dudley’s for letting us spend time in your wonderful cabin.
Beautiful Cabin in a Beautiful Area
Had a wonderful time in January with my wife and pups. The property is quiet, secluded, and perfect for walks through the woods and along the stream; checking out the little waterfalls along the way.
The cabin is gorgeous! Awesome kitchen, wood stove, stereo speakers ready for your ipod (or whatever gadget you use), a great library of books, and even a piano (which challenged me to remember those piano lessons from many years ago)!
We stayed on the first floor, but there's a perfect family friendly area on the second floor, so bring the whole family.
Don't look any further... You've found your vacation get-away!
Perfect log cabin for an escape from reality!
Beautiful and comfortable house with very relaxing property location! Didn't want to leave. Would definitely stay there again!!
The cabin was great - clean, quiet and lovely. We have stayed there before and look forward to staying again. Many thanks!
It was perfect. We really loved it.
Great great place. The cabin was magnificent. Down to every little detail. Just an amazing atmosphere. It provided everything we needed and exceeded our expectations.
The property is so beautiful, calm and the vibe is perfect. We played in the yard with our dogs, went down to the stream and to the swinming holes and the dogs were in heaven the whole time. So we're we. We hiked, took walks, played in the tree house and got lots of great pics and videos. We were only there 4 days, wished it was longer, didn't want to leave and would love to go back. Just outstanding in every possible way!
