Comfortable & Quiet Home in the Country
Trish’s rental looks just like the pictures. Though it is not modern, it is a clean, well furnished, & comfortable home in a very quiet, wooded residential area about 2 miles from the village of Rhinebeck. We were three adults however up to 6 would be fine renting this home as there is a fully stocked, good size eat-in kitchen for preparing meals, a spacious living room with plenty of seating & fireplace, a dining area with table & chairs & 2 bedrooms including a large master with a door leading to a back deck. I was pleasantly surprised to see a flat panel TV in the living room. The WiFi worked great & with my own cables I was able to hook up my laptop & stream movies & shows.
Having 2 good-sized bathrooms was a plus however one was more like a utility room. It was off the dining room (not in the bedroom area of the house) and had a deep utility sink/wash tub instead of a typical bathroom sink (and no counters for toiletries, hairdryer etc) plus a toilet & stall shower. The washer & dryer were also in this bathroom (which I used for counter space) as was a door to the backyard. It was a bit off-putting at first but it worked out.
Trisha was very responsive to texts from us with questions about the house such as the location of the cushions for the deck furniture. A concern I have about this rental is that the beds were not made up before our arrival. I didn’t expect to be asked to make my own bed or to have to strip the beds at the end of the rental especially given the cleaning fee.
GREAT OWNER! FANTASTIC HOME!
The owner was nice, receptive to a special request and the home provided for a great New Year's weekend for two couples with their children! We would love to book again next year! The best part was an easy to operate gas fireplace that gave both character and warmth — but without hassle.
Great place for Xmas!
Had a wonderful time. Trish did a great job of decorating for Xmas which made it so warm for us to stay there for the holiday. She even took care of some special food needs because we were arriving so late. THANKS!!
Location, location, locations!
I loved this house and the quiet neighborhood. Driving in at night and having lights automatically go on was a plus. Bathrooms were spacious, kitchen well equipped. Needs an electric coffee pot but owner will remedy that. We played games at the large dining table. Beds squeaky but very comfy and flannel sheets were a plus for three gals from the south. We went to CIA, Hudson River Cruise, Hudson River Walk Over, Valkill, FDR library/home, Olana, town of Rhinebeck from this location. I would definitely go back.
Great home away from home!
This home was exactly what we wanted. The only upgrade we would suggest is the addition of flat screen tv's in the living room and bedrooms. We were so pleased with our overall experience and hope to return whenever visiting family in the Hudson Valley.
Easy, stress free, comfort
Lovely, scenic, private, and convenient location. Clean, modern, well-equipped, great beds, and a super cozy living room with fireplace. Trish was attentive and available and helpful in securing space for us on short notice and it's the second time we've stayed at one of her properties. I'll call her first before calling anywhere else next time I'm in the area. Customer service - what a great concept! :-)
Rhinebeck is in the heart of the scenic Hudson Valley, home to many historic mansions and grand estates open to the public. The music and theatre at Bard College, home of the American Symphony Orchestra, is world class. Upstate Films in downtown Rhinebeck is a wonderful arts cinema.
