Why Mindie & Josh chose Hermosa Village
ONE WORD: LOCATION. Its the closest location to Disneyland. Period. Yes, walking to the park is possible. The tram is an option too. We had YOU & Your Family in mind when we purchased the home. More Convenience, less hassle with loading the car, parking, & paying for it.

Good for Disney
Great place to stay if visiting Disney close enough to walk. We watched the fireworks on the lawn every evening.
We were a family of 7, there was plenty of room.
We had a wonderful time at the Storybook Villa. It was very clean and enjoyable. The location was amazing, close to Disneyland and within walking distance. The instructions for checking in and checking out was very easy to follow. Thank YOU! We will be back.
Location is what you are getting
We stayed here for 10 days over spring break.
The good. Location. It took us 10 minutes to walk to the Downtown Disney gate. The three bedroom, two floor unit was great. Also, whoever is hired to clean in between stays did a very good job of cleaning the unit. Our kids really enjoyed it, especially the small outdoor place as it provided a break.
To bad. The unit is very dated. Our family had three units, and one was much nicer, new furniture, reno'd kitchen, and one was worse. There was a coffee pot that I didn't think was safe to use and for a few hundred the beds could go from the sloping (quite a slope) to something a bit nicer. Also, having a small child the shag carpet was a poor choice as it was impossible to clean. Also disappointing was the pool area. The pool is not heated and so was more like a polar bear swim than something the kids could use. Combined with the hot tub being too hot, meant we went one time over our visit for a short while and couldn't return.
Overall, I would recommend this complex for a visit, but I would work to select a unit that was better maintained / furnished.
Great family stay!
We stayed for three nights with our three boys and one girl. We were very pleased with how much space we had. The boys did have to all share a room but they each got their own bed so that was nice. Teenage girl was able to have her own room and some privacy. Mindie and Josh were nice enough to let us park our vehicle in the garage a couple hours before check-in, as we got to town early and wanted to head over to the parks. (We did have some trouble finding their garage space as the numbered spots were not in any particular order and there are two garage sections, but we found it eventually and had no trouble opening it.) We came back a few hours later to unpack and get settled. Their assigned parking spot is truly right outside the front door so that was very convenient! The rooms were all very comfortable and well-stocked with linens and towels. (The sliding shower door in the master bath would not stay closed, but a very minor issue.)
As our kids were older, we did not make use of the strollers/kids' toys/etc, but I did notice they were there and available. We did not cook much in the house, as we were mostly at the parks, but we did eat breakfast and use the microwave/coffeemaker/etc. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils so we could have cooked had we wanted to.
Location is GREAT! Right across the street from the Mickey & Friends parking structure. You do have to cross a divided four-lane street with no crosswalk, but it is relatively quiet, and there is a median so it was not a big deal at all. At the time we visited, there was lots of construction going on at the parking structure. We intended on maybe hopping the tram there, but did not want to waste time to deal with walking through construction areas, so we ended up just walking all the way to Downtown Disney/the monorail. A longer walk for young kids, but still not awful. Likely irrelevant once construction finishes.
There were lots of instructions throughout the home for how to use different things. It did seem like the big book of info was a little outdated, but not a big deal. We could not find a lighter for the fireplace. I could not find a guest book to sign either. We had to check several different pages (the physical paper inside differed a bit from what we had been emailed) for complete check-out instructions, but again, very minor things.
Overall, we had a great, comfortable stay in a very convenient location which was priced well for the value we got. Thank you!
Pictures on VRBO are deceptive - Rental Unit Needs Updating and Deep Cleaning
Location close to Disneyland. Nice having access to Washer and Dryer (although they rattled and banged around) and Children's Pack n Play and Strollers. Nice little play area outside for the kids.
Rental is very run-down and needed major overhaul/deep cleaning. Looked like the owners put very little into making it nice for the renters . When we arrived there were only (3) wash-cloths, Shower door in Master Bath would not stay shut, The unit smelled really bad. The Third bedroom smelled like Gerbils - bad enough that a couple of teenage boys didn't want to sleep in the bedroom. We had to go to the local Walmart and purchase wash cloths, Air Freshers, Fe-breeze, hand soap, dish soap, etc. - items you would assume would be in the rental upon arrival. It was discouraging after having a fun day at Disneyland to look forward to returning and staying the night.
Great location for Disney comfortable space for family.
Has great potential. There is some need of maintenance and more thorough cleaning between visitors. The upstairs bathroom looked like someone got a haircut in there and it was just swept into the corner, not exaggerating there was literally half a cup worth of hair. The ceilings were pretty dirty as well with cobwebs and dirt accumulation. Kitchen could be stocked better but I understand most people do not cook on vacation. The front security door absolutely needs a handle added if the dead bolt isn't locked it sits and swings in the wind. A few light fixtures looked like they were ready to fall off the ceiling. Again I don't mean to be critical this has the potential to be an amazing home just needs some attention.
Anaheim, CA is home to Disneyland & centrally located. Los Angeles and all of its attractions (Universal Studios, Hollywood, Zoo, Santa Monica beach & pier) is immediately to the north, about a 30-45 minute drive. Freeways are easily accessible (right around the corner). San Diego is immediately to the south. Sea World, Lego Land, the zoo and wild animal park await you there! 1.5 - 2 hours away.
If you want to stay closer to 'home' while your here, you're in luck. Orange County has beaches (Huntington, Newport, Laguna, Balboa Island), amusement parks (Disneyland, California Adventure, Knott's Berry Farm), water parks (Soak City, La Mirada Splash), family entertainment (Downtown Disney, local city markets, Medieval Times dinner & tournament), & family fun (Irvine Park & Zoo, Discovery Museum, & more!).
Its time to visit Southern California & stay at Storybook Villa #1.
