I have owned the neighboring 2 villas; Villa Leone and Villa Flamingo for the past 15 years. I am a retired Civil Engineer from Pennsyvania. I j purchased Villa Belvedere from my long time neighbor of 10 years; a gentleman from Chicago and his wife. I named Villa Belvedere after a small oceanside hill town in Italy; Belvedere Maritiimo, where my Mother's grandparents were born and raised. The views of the sea from this small town located high in the hills overlooking the beach and ocean on the southern west coast were breathtaking! When I stood on the large 2nd floor balcony in the rear of Villa Belvedere, the views of the Italian coast came back to me. It was then, standing on the balcony; The Belvedere (in Italian means an archtectural structure from which to enjoy a beautiful view) that the name Villa Belvedere flashed into my mind when I wasn't even trying to think of a name. Hence, Villa Belvedere came into being.
