One of the best, most walkable locations in Charlotte! Convenient second-floor apartment with off-street parking.
Located on a quiet, tree-lined residential street in the Historic District of Dilworth, 1.5 miles from Uptown, you'll be able to walk to 3 parks, two full-service grocery stores, a health-food market, 40+ restaurants from casual to fine dining (including raw/vegan, Indian, 3 Thai restaurants, Italian, burgers/pizza, sushi, etc.) wine shop, wine bar, yoga and massage studios, coffee shops, art galleries, consignment shops, neighborhood pubs and other amenities.
A transit stop 1/2 block away provides bus service directly to Uptown and SouthPark (upscale shopping) every 15 minutes. The light rail stop to Uptown is only a 15-minute walk away. Carolinas Medical Center is 4 minutes away by car, or an easy 15-20 minute walk.
This super-comfortable, spotlessly clean, stylish, large two-bedroom apartment is in a historic 8-plex apartment building that we own, built in 1920, and has been completely remodeled with attention to all the details. High ceilings, refinished original hardwood floors, original 2-panel doors with glass door knobs help the apartment maintain its original character. It is furnished with a mix of new, midcentury modern and antique furniture with lots of original artwork.
The large balcony off of the living room provides a comfortable outdoor living area to take advantage of Charlotte's wonderful climate, whether for breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.
We've recently undertaken a complete GREEN renovation on the building, including dual- pane windows, high efficiency HVAC, energy efficient lighting, dual-flush toilets, ceiling fans, tankless water heaters and new insulation for comfort.
In the fully-equipped kitchen there are brand new cabinets, quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range and refrigerator with ice maker. A washer and dryer are also included in the apartment for your use. There is a large flat screen television and small stereo system in the living room and smaller flatscreen tvs in the bedrooms.
400-thread-count linens are provided for the King size bed and the second bedroom includes a desk for business travelers. Free wifi is included. Thick Egyptian cotton towels are provided as well.
There are 2 reserved parking spaces, and a community outdoor patio with gas grill, recycling facilities and composting. The grounds are well-landscaped with native and drought tolerant plantings. You'll feel safe and secure, with keyed access required for both the main entrance and the apartment.
Most of our guests are repeat clients who book in advance, so please book early. We think we've thought of everything you'll need for your visit, but if not, we live right around the corner so can help with anything you might need.
The apartment comes stocked with a complimentary assortment of food, snacks, wine, etc. I'm a native Charlottean, so am happy to provide any help during your stay, including restaurant suggestions, art openings, events, etc. Just ask! You'll love living like a local. We look forward to hosting you.

My husband and I are green real estate developers in Charlotte. Our most recent completed project is called Celadon, the first LEED-Neighborhood Development in the Southeast. We have the opportunity to travel extensively, and enjoy staying in private homes or apartments rather than hotels. We enjoy welcoming guests to our properties and helping them get acquainted with Charlotte.
Jim Hock purchased this apartment in 2009
Historic Dilworth is among the best and most walkable locations in the city. The neighborhood is made up of a nice mix of people who value the convenience of living so close to Uptown, but in a quiet setting with tree-lined streets, wide sidewalks and non-cookie-cutter homes. We do most of our errands on foot or by bike, and enjoy being out and about in the neighborhood.
Located near three parks, several grocers, a farmers market, wine shop and dozens of restaurants, it's a great place to park your car and explore on foot or by bike.
Jim and James are great hosts. They responded to every email and request very promptly and with great advice about where to eat and what to see in Charlotte. The apartment is a little gem--very clean, very charming, and very comfortable. My friends and I enjoyed it greatly during our mini-reunion. You can't do better, IMHO.
The condo is situated in the beautiful historic Dilworth area of Charlotte on a peaceful street. The condo was spotless and well equipped with kitchen utensils. It was extremely comfortable, airy and light filled. There is also an outdoor terrace. As is mentioned in its description it is within walking and short driving distance to a variety of very nice restaurants and a huge Lion supermarket. There is the added convenience of a washer/dryer. We needed both heat and air conditioning during our stay and both worked well via individual units. Charlie, the manager, was there upon my arrival and was very helpful in suggesting dining options. He also makes sure there is a supply of wine, ingredients for cocktails and snacks. I would recommend this property highly and would certainly return here on any subsequent visit to the area.
Everything was perfect and just as stated in the description. The apartment was easy to get into, and had all of the accommodations you could want and then some. The management was also very prompt with responses even during our weekend stay with questions regarding the property.
Everything was perfect & exactly as stated! We were even treated to some lovely welcome items! Great location too! Will be staying here again for sure.
Loved the stay. Great neighborhood. Quite. Near downtown. The accommodations were great. Lots of stuff set up for our use. nice art. Zero interaction with owners. Accommodated us with a later check-out
Cons: ice maker put out brown ice, AC worked poorly.
4.5/5.0 ! Would surely stay again.
My husband and I wanted a more personal visit to Charlotte so we stayed in the beautiful Magnolia apartment - We arrived and were greeted with wine, classical music and a hand written welcome. The apartment is lovely, charming, has flare -- and has everything you could ever need. It's in a peaceful and pretty neighborhood that is close to everything and is walkable to groceries, restaurants, biking, trails and a short drive to uptown. We have thorougly enjoyed our stay and will come again!
Really enjoyed the stay. Owners were very friendly and helpful. The unit magnolia 3 was warm and very well supplied with every thing one would need on vacation. The neighborhood is really nice and we thoroughly enjoyed morning walks . The location was perfect for accessing downtown and other parts of the city.
Walk to over 40 restaurants and bars, 3 parks and 2 full-service grocery stores, take light rail to Uptown.
