This charming two story rambling waterfront home is a true taste of Old Cape Cod. The house is a duplex situated on a secluded one acre wooded lot overlooking Great River on Monomoscoy Island, accessed by a short causeway, and part of a protected bird and wildlife sanctuary. Swim and sun bathe off the dock or on the property's own private beach. Go quayhogging, fishing or crabbing along Great River in front of the house and grill your catch for dinner on the backyard patio. Eight kayaks (four for kids) and a paddleboard are included with the rental for exploring the many features of Waquoit Bay. A public boat landing is available diagonally across Great River from the property. Waquoit Bay is a playground for all boating enthusiasts from water skiers, knee boarders and some of New England's finest wind and kite surfing can be had close-by in the shallows of Waqouit Bay. For bicyclists there are great road and trail routes.
We prefer weekly rentals unless a period is still available less than one month ahead. We find that guests who have time to enjoy the water setting are happier!
We have 32Mbps Internet, Wifi, HDTV with Comcast cable service and land-line phone with unlimited calling in the U.S.A.
The town of Mashpee has several beautiful freshwater ponds and beaches only a short drive away, as well as the famous South Cape Ocean beach on Vineyard Sound. The Mashpee Town Commons offers many upscale clothing and retail stores, restaurants, coffee shops, a movie theater and grocery stores, all within three miles.
Enjoy world class golfing, par 3s, executive, and regulation courses, and even miniature golfing nearby. On a rainy day the Children's Museum at New Seabury, and the Aquarium at Woods Hole makes for great family outings
The house is a side-by-side duplex. There is off street parking for four cars and a small boat trailer. The rental unit has three bedrooms, two full baths, a laundry room and an enclosed sun porch. The ground floor has an open floor plan with the living/dining and kitchen areas overlooking the waterfront. The master bedroom is on the ground floor with two queen sized beds, and its own private bathroom. One of the upstairs bedrooms has two twin beds, and the other upstairs bedroom has three twin beds. All the rooms are comfortably furnished, and all have ceiling or window fans. The living room and all bedrooms are also equipped with air conditioners. There is an outside hot shower, with full privacy screen. Detailed floor plans of both levels are available with the posted photos. Ask us for higher resolution photos.
We will not rent to vacationing students or singles under 25 years of age unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent. Contact us about this if needed.
If your group is here to attend a wedding in the area or intends to otherwise meet up with others, PLEASE NOTE that in those situations some of our guests have invited many additional people to come over and enjoy the waterfront. The resultant group can easily get too large and some additional visitors then spend the night here. We cannot support large parties or additional overnight guests.

About Deborah Martin
The house was built by my father in the 50's and has undergone several renovations. He lived overseas for most of his life and named the property 'Impian Maas', or 'Golden Dream' in Malay, and it has remained our 'Golden Dream' to this day.
Deborah Martin purchased this House in 1950

A wonderful home on Great River - best owners too.
Two of us and our pups in a cozy place on the river. We were overwhelmed when we walked in and found it all decorated for Christmas - lites, tree, stockings on the mantle. Yes, the reviews are true it’s all there, anything you need and Tim & Deb weren’t even in town while we visited. Our family is in Mashpee and we may be returning to the area so it was wonderful to have such a great retreat to consider our options. If Deb & Tim ever think of selling we’ll be first in line. If you are a reader you will love the selection that permeates the house... I could not stop exploring the options - just to have the time to read the amazing collection. The kitchen is small but very adequate for anything you need - all you need. We found the graham crackers, marshmallows and Hershey bars but the cold cold and winds along with family visits elsewhere kept us from enjoying the fire pit outside.
We did long for a fire inside and should have asked if the fp was operable but the drape over the face made it clear we couldn’t use it this visit. If you are put off by the concept of the proximity to the other “unit” do not be you only share an entrance hall and we found they don’t use that they have a separate entrance. This is a super home built in the ‘60’s very cozy but big enough for many. Thank Tim & Deb!!!
The home is cozy, and the environment is welcoming, warm, and friendly- Tim and Deb are wonderful!
The home is charming and cozy, filled with books and art supplies, indoor and outdoor toys, and all kinds of helpful supplies (high chairs, mattress guards for children’s safety), with all the ammenities needed for a family to vacation comfortably... we were there over Thanksgiving week and cooked up quite a Thanksgiving feast using the kitchen provisions on site. Beds are comfortable and there are ample linens provided. There are plenty of activities right on the property for everyone to enjoy- kayaks, a beautiful dock, beach access, and a wonderful yard complete with fire pit!
Tim and Deb are very knowledgeable about the area and had many suggestions for activities that our family might enjoy. They went out of their way, regularly, to make us feel welcome ... from sharing some of their family recipes (complete with taste tests!!), to providing a priceless experience for our fur-baby who has recently had some difficulties adapting to other dogs... we were resolved to keep her inside for our stay, but at their encouragement, and with their patience, our time at this property resulted in not just new human connections, but new canine connections as well...we are very thankful to have stayed at their beautiful home, and to have met them both- they are truly extraordinary people and they go out of their way to ensure their guests have a wonderful time.
We look forward to returning!!!
Oh, the Island Life!
Warm and Friendly atmosphere. Cordial hosts and all amenities to make it feel like home. Central to many things of interest.
Wonderful vacation home
Such a wonderful trip we had Tim and Deb were so helpful and very welcoming
A Perfect Vacation Retreat
Deb and Tim's place was a perfect vacation retreat for our extended family. Our group of 9 consisted of three families ranging in age from 80 to 2. The house was ideal with sufficient room for all. The extras, that made a big difference, were a computer, free telephone calls inside the US, plenty of toys for the baby, an outside hot and cold water shower, the kayaks, barbecue grill, fire pot, wide variety of tourist literature provided, clothes washer and dryer, kitchen with every imaginable appliance, and many other small items. The welcome basket was a total surprise. Tim's fact sheets were a great benefit and Deb and Tim's presence was helpful for the few questions we had. The waterfront location is perfect. Total privacy yet only a 10 minute drive to major shopping areas. If all goes well we hope to be back in the fall of 2019.
Great hideaway with beautiful views, comfy home, kayaking, crabbing & more,
We had a wonderful week here. Lots of things to do on the property like kayaking, finding secret beach, crabbing, fire pit, and just relaxing with a good book & view. The house is cozy & clean. Tim & Deb were helpful, friendly & with a good list of things to do. We loved John's Pond & South Cape Beach with our 6 year old granddaughters. Would like to return someday to this lovely home.
