Overview

About the property

Studio unit with queen-sized Murphy bed close to downtown and buses

This charming studio is the perfect get-away! Cozy, comfortable, and homey. It's an efficiency, and comes with a queen-sized Murphy bed. The backyard is so peaceful and serene, it's hard to believe you're merely blocks away from 4-star restaurants.

The studio is in the basement of my 1909 Craftsman bungalow, with its own separate entrance. It's newly renovated. The kitchenette has a small stove top, microwave, refrigerator, pans, dishes, spices, everything you need to do as much or as little cooking as you'd like! The front of the Murphy bed folds down into a desk, so you can work or write. You have access to my WiFi network, as well as a washer and dryer. There's also a TV with basic cable, DVD player, and some DVDs.

Public transportation is readily available. Great restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques are all in walking distance. Don't rent a car unless you really need one. Street parking is available, but if you'd like, I can offer you off-street parking for an extra $10/night.

My neighborhood continues to grow in density. I host a lot of parents coming to see their kids, who are either at college or living nearby.

About The Owner

I have lived and traveled all over the world. Seattle is my home now. I've been here the longest I've ever lived anywhere (over 10 years now.) I love this place, and I love sharing it with other people. I try to eat at a different restaurant every week, so I'm pretty knowledgeable about the local food scene.

I'm a full time novelist, so I'm around all day. When the weather is nice, I will be sharing the backyard with you, working outside all day.

The Owner purchased this house in 2011

Why The Owner chose Seattle

I love Seattle, and I think you will too.

What makes this house unique

It's such a short walk to everything here. If you like walking, you can easily go to Interlaken, which is a couple of square miles of wilderness in the heart of the city. Or you can walk downtown. The restaurants in the area are fabulous, and many of the specialize in local and organic food. You're also in walking distance of five grocery stores, in case you want to do some of your own cooking.

Seattle Studio Apt.

  • 4 of 5

Cute eclectic studio apt with lovely back yard. One short block from bus lines to Pike's Place Market and Seattle Center. We ate all meals out, but glass stove top burner available for those who desire to make a quick/light meal in. Great coffee and tea provided. Leah is flexible and will hold bags if you want to finish up sightseeing and have late departure from SEA.

Great Experience - Awesome Place!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was comfortable and fun. We had no issues and enjoyed every minute of it. The location is fantastic with plenty of food/drink/fun nearby. We will definitely consider staying here again if we are in town.

A great little place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved staying in this little basement apartment. Leah is such a wonderful host, and the place itself is adorable with a courtyard out back and conveniently located to many restaurants and shops. It's secluded on the quiet end of the hill but close enough to all the action. One very large bonus is that it's just down hill from the link light rail station and we were able to get there easily from Seatac. The unit is very clean and we felt right at home staying here. We would stay there again if it's available for our future trips to Seattle. Thank you, Leah!

Leah has done a fantastic job with her rental. The garden is also very special and peaceful.

Thank you also for allowing to pick a few flowers to make a lei for my daughter's graduation.

Comfortable, well-furnished, great bath. Nice location.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend in Seattle. The shower/ bathroom were extra special, including wonderful handmade soap. Having coffee and tea provided really helped, as we needed to warm up from the rain. A good location, as we walked downtown a few times.

Great Location and Necessities

  • 5 of 5

Capitol Hill was the perfect location for beautiful neighborhoods, close by restaurants, coffee, grocery store and to the person we were visiting. We really appreciated having the coffee there for us and all the kitchen things so we felt like we were at home. Everything was tidy and taken care of nicely. Leah left us plenty of notes so we knew where to find the things we needed. Loved having a recycling and compost too! It was also a nice quiet area, so at night it doesn't sound like a busy city, great for sleeping.
